Charley2016 · 10/01/2017 18:59

Welcome guys Smile good luck!!!

I would definitely recommend OPKs, i found they made me much more in tune with my body! I feel like at least I know I'm timing things right (usually). Also I ovulated a couple days late this month (been the same day for the last 3 cycles) so while I'm due today, I feel like I'm not going totally crazy with the bfn this morning as I know it's likely I'll be a couple days late.

That being said, I just left the house for the first time in 2 days and was all hot and dizzy in Asda, so I of course popped next door to boots and bought FRERs haha!

ttcnovice · 10/01/2017 19:03

BD'ing on those cycle days is definitely within the range of catching it charley, so your optimism isn't without basis! Yeah the IC's aren't very sensitive are they, but buying more than a couple of FRER's starts to add up!! Not feeling very positive this month, just because I wasn't able to pinpoint if/when I ovulated, but we DTD nearly every day so you never know I guess!

Hi poppet and Dprincess good luck on your TTC journeys! I'd definitely recommend OPKs poppet just because it allows you to pinpoint when to DTD as best as possible, but it easy to get obsessed with them as I found out last cycle!

Motherhippy16 · 10/01/2017 19:18

Welcome poppet and dprincess...lovely to hear from you. I'm also ttc #1 but atm I'm not using opks. Have been regular cycles since coming off pill at the end of October but no bfps as yet. Fx for this month! Cycle day 17, 2dpo. Much love to all x

Poppet8583 · 10/01/2017 19:21

Thanks ttcnovice and Charley! I've been using the Ovia app to track my cycle and it turns out mine is 30-31 days, not 28-29 like I thought it was so at least I've learned something early on in the TTC process. Annoyingly last month it kept moving my fertile window which confused the hell out of me...anyone else has this?!

Poppet8583 · 10/01/2017 19:30

And thank you Motherhippy too!

DumbledoresArmy · 10/01/2017 19:35

Was driving DS to his swimming lesson & some nob almost drove into me, cue me slamming the brakes on, jolting the seat belt.
Now I'm paranoid that the pressure from the belt on my stomach will stop anything, if anything from happening.

Motherhippy16 · 10/01/2017 19:36

Yes poppet. I always thought that my cycles we 30 or so days long but tracking it over the last 3 months since coming off the pill it's been 28-29. Maths and working out dates has never been my strong point but I've been able to calculate a lot better this month and tracking cm has helped too. Am cramping so much today and so bloated. Anyone else get this early post ovulation? X

Motherhippy16 · 10/01/2017 19:38

Oh thats awful dumbledore! What a nob! I wouldn't know about it stopping anything from happening but hope you and you're ds are OK x

Charley2016 · 10/01/2017 19:46

Poppet yes I use Ovia too! Bit annoying at the start but the more you put in the more it knows your cycle so it will get better! Also if you OPK there is the yellow dot which you can put in as definite ovulation which changes thinks too.

Dumbledore that sounds awful! Hope you are ok x I'm sure you will be fine though, the eggs so tiny, with so much space I doubt it would do anything so don't stress.

Mother I don't tend to get any cramping at all unless it's ovulation or few days before AF. Maybe ovulating a little late?

DumbledoresArmy · 10/01/2017 19:57

Thanks guys FlowersSmile
I'm ok. The idiot just tried to push me out of the road. I had to practically do an emergency stop.

DumbledoresArmy · 10/01/2017 19:58

When are you guys planning on testing? At how many dpo?

Charley2016 · 10/01/2017 20:08

Ideally I'd like to test on Friday which will be 14dpo but realistically, I'll probably cave before then haha!!

Motherhippy16 · 10/01/2017 20:22

Thank you charley....sometimes I think I have an idea boutique what's going on and thenjoy mother nature throws a curve ball. I'm going to test earliest on the 21st Jan dumbledores...if my dates work out then that's the day before af. X

ttcnovice · 10/01/2017 20:28

That sounds awful Dumbledore what an utter idiot the other driver was! Please try not to worry about it preventing anything, I'm sure it'd be very unlikely this early on. Hope you're feeling okay after the shock, have a sweet cup of tea FlowersBrew

Roseandbee · 10/01/2017 20:37

Hi everyone
Age 33
TTC - 31 cycles of no birth control but not actively trying - we were going for the see what happens approach - nothing happened. Just started using OPKs, (got positive OPKS for a 5 days in a row?) & i'm going for a day 21 blood test on Thursday. I did actually get very light spotting this cycle on CD13 which would suggest ovulation spotting but ive never had that before.
Due af on 19th jan

Bows85 · 10/01/2017 22:20

Hey ttc... we spoke last week about our lack of positive OPKs... I've just seen that you expect to get AF on Friday. Did you continue to take OPKs?

I've still been doing OPKs and have had a couple of stronger second lines over the past couple of days, although still negative. I also think I've had a bit of ewcm yesterday and today so I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Still a big pessimistic part of me that thinks that AF will arrive without a positive OPK though.

Ttc - could you possibly still be waiting to ovulate?

ttcnovice · 10/01/2017 23:44

Hi Bows how are you? I stopped doing OPKs around CD19 just because I was getting so frustrated with them being so clearly negative. I figured with my cycles being pretty regular at 28 days (ish) then I'd either missed ovulation this month, or just not ovulated at all. As you said I'm expecting AF on Friday so will see what happens, but I'm not feeling very positive! I think I will try using Clearblue OPKs next month, just so I can have a definite yes or no.

What brand was it that you're using, and when are you expecting AF? Getting stronger lines as well having the EWCM definitely sounds encouraging so fx you get the elusive positive tomorrow!

Bows85 · 11/01/2017 07:24

Morning ttc Smile Just using ic OPKs. I did get some cbfm sticks the other day (out of sheer frustration!) but think I messed up the baseline reading by doing it in the evening. I ended up getting high readings for the following 4 mornings! Decided to try again with these properly next cycle (should it come to that) and to keep going with my cheapies.
My cycles have been pretty irregular on length since my first 'real' af (in Oct) after stopping bc (in Aug).
Hope you just missed your ovulation and get a BFP this weekend!

88claire · 11/01/2017 07:59

Roseandbee

I got 5 days of positive OPKs which shouldn't happen apparently... I had bloods taken at the doctors but 5 days later I tested and two lines appeared! Is there any chance you're pregnant?

Good luck!

Charley2016 · 11/01/2017 09:05

So I woke at 5 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep for a pain in my stomach, feels like someone priding about an inch or two to the right of my belly button. So of course after about half an hour I caved and did a FRER! Surely if there was anything there I would be getting something on a FRER by now at 11dpo? Sad

Jellybabie3 · 11/01/2017 09:42

Morning charley what test did you use?

I had such a rubbish night sleep. Tossing and turning for no reason. Feel like crap today, really run down. No sign of AF still or any cramps. Due for AF saturday. Just a kind of heavy feeling on both sides this morning but thats it. Still pondering whether to do a FRER

BertieBotts · 11/01/2017 10:48

I'm symptom spotting Blush Sore boobs last night (but gone now) and nausea this morning on the train/in the supermarket/just randomly. 8dpo so a bit early anyway.

Charley2016 · 11/01/2017 11:07

Was a FRER I used so think it would show by now. I'm exhausted today too but probably my total lack of sleep. My boobs are agony too but all my other weird symptoms are gone so looks like another month of false hope. Starting to feel crazy haha!

Did you test jelly? Sounds like promising signs but still early yet!

Bertie I've never wanted to feel sick in my life until the last few months haha! How are you feeling now?

Jellybabie3 · 11/01/2017 11:18

I got a negative on a IC. Dunno whether to try CB early detection? But that says use FMU and i dont want to wait....
