Sorry to hear about your gran jam. Glad you had some good times and was able to spend time with her before she died. FlowersFlowersI'm sure you will miss her and she will be missing you x

Tee sounds like a good plan all this work on your lining with the diet. Really think it won't take you long to conceive.

Hope everyone else ok, hope you all got some new year deeds!
Those cups sound great, would like to try them for AF at least. Where do u get them from beagles?

MotherOfBeagles · 01/01/2017 17:08

I got mine from boots online it's the diva cup. But there are a couple of brands. They are a bit odd to start with but I tried a few times with some YouTube videos before my first af but love it now I've gotten the hang of it. Tampons are uncomfortable and both tampons and pads feel like I smell and i really don't like them. This is the perfect alternative for me.

May I join? DP and I are currently ttc; we're both women but she will be the one hopefully getting pregnant (I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago - cancer treatment). DP isn't a MNer but I thought perhaps I could join the thread?
We're having IUI with donor sperm.

So, we're ttc #1.
Cycle #5 (cycles 1 and 2 were BFN; 3 was BFP but turned out to be ectopic at 7 weeks; just had BFN from cycle 4).
As soon as DP's period starts that will be day 1 of lucky number 5.

We're financially and emotionally drained, but eternally optimistic Grin

MotherOfBeagles · 01/01/2017 17:32

Hi miri sounds like you two have been through the ringer. Of course you're welcome! I have no idea about IUI so can't offer any specific advice but here for a good chinwag =]

OP posts:
Londonjam · 01/01/2017 18:17

Welcome on board Miri

Footy I got softcups off amazon, might try a mooncup next time

MiriAmmerman · 01/01/2017 18:32

Thanks everyone.
Mother we're doing natural cycle IUI so in some ways it's not that different from ttc via the conventional route - we just monitor DP's cycle, and she gets inseminated 24 hrs after the opk detects the LH surge. We're following the Emma Cannon diet (me in solidarity, obv) and she's having acupuncture as well to try and encourage things. We're hoping 2017 will be our year!
Good luck to everyone else too Flowers

Parney · 01/01/2017 23:34

I had a huge message earlier with a baby pic and it didn't post. Not on the same device but will get another pic later!

Sorry to hear about all the tough times, particularly your gran Jam and you Footy. I love the consistent encouragemnt, support and advice that has been found here all year ladies. We've all benefitted! I really hope Footy that things work out the way you want them to. Hi to all the newcomers, delighted the thread is so busy!!!!

Hi all, waiting for the first BFP of 2017 and the babies 🤗 Today is my due date! Imagine and baby is three weeks old already. He is an absolute sweet heart and is as good as gold, we are too lucky and I do realise that. Labour was... interesting! Progressed to 10cm too fast for drugs and so fast that baby didn't move down with contractions so the pushing was doing nothing and he started to get stressed. Had a section in the end and was put to sleep as I'd no epidural. All in all it was fine and I'd do it again a million times. Really miss my bump, loved being pregnant.

Footy1 · 02/01/2017 09:23

Welcome miri, good luck on your ttc journey.

Parney, would love to see baby pic. Glad all is well at home and he's doing really well. I had emergency section with my first and was quite a long recovery so hope you are nearly there. Don't know if your scar is sore but I found great comfort in an old fashion cheapy sanitary pad, I'd stick it in the inside of my granny pants! It stopped jeans and trousers rubbing on it. Just a tip the midwife gave me. Have u been tearful? I remember being dreadfully tearful for about 4 weeks after birth. Thanks for your kind words, hoping for us to get through it.

Def going to look into those cups, I get what U mean beagles I hate wearing tampons and pads. Can u sleep with them in?

Kate, how are you? *

Tee4me · 02/01/2017 12:08

Welcome Miri! Newcomers always welcome. Hope it's lucky number 5 for you. We had another lady on the thread who was successful with IUI, although I still don't know very much about it. I'm sure we'll learn lots from eachother.
Footy I'm so glad DH is on board with counselling, that's really promising. Whilst he's been a complete arse, it does show willing on his part, he clearly wants to make things work, and if you both stick with that attitude, I'm sure you will come out the other side stronger than before.
Parneeeeey! Hello to you and baby, I'm so glad he's being a good boy. I was also teary for a long time after DS, could cry at the drop of a hat!
Jam I'm so sorry to hear your news. I really hope you are taking it easy and have lots of good support around you. It's so sad when these things happen around Christmas time .
Beagles I'll definitely look into epo, and maybe these mooncups too??!! Had never heard of them! Hope you are lucky despite your doubts. My twin had sex once in 2016 and is due her baby in the next few weeks!
Hi Kate, Mimi, Kiki, Happy New Year, fingers crossed for early 2017 bfps!

My friend told me she was 'late' last night, bless her. She's been good support while I've been ttc, she hadn't been trying herself. Just wanted to tell me face2face sensitively in case it leads to a bfp. I will be very happy for her if it does! But it does seem mental how easily the people around me are falling!
CD9 over here, hoping for a good week of DTD. DH only at work 3 days this week, so that should work in my favour, hopefully he remains in the Christmas spirit!

DuRezidal · 02/01/2017 21:34

I start testing tomorrow morning but am getting some slight twinges so wondering if I do ovulate quite early on. We will see what the CBFM says tomorrow! X

Londonjam · 02/01/2017 22:01

Aww he sounds Adorable parney glad all is going well and it sounds like you coped so well with quite a dramatic labour. Hope your body is healing well

That's thoughtful of your friend to tell you sensitively tee. Hope you are enjoying fw!

I'm 10 DPO today and got all the usual stuff... sore boobs, funny tummy, very emotional. AF due Friday. Am already thinking ahead to next cycle xx

MotherOfBeagles · 02/01/2017 22:29

I hope it's your year too miri you guys are behaving far more than i am!

parney im so happy for you and looking forward to seeing pics. Flowers

footy yeah you can sleep with them in. They advise being cleaned by at least hot water every 12 hours. So I bought the branded cleaner just for ease as I knew it was right and it gets cleaned in the morning before work after I wake up, cleaned after work and cleaned just before bed. Dead easy.

Sounds like you've got ample opportunity to jump dh tee make sure that you take advantage! It really sometimes does feel like the world and his dog is getting pregnant and we're stood here like wtf dude!? Nice of your friend to have a private chat with you first though, a lot more considerate than some.

Hoping the monitor plays nicely this month durez!

Are you planning on testing jam?

I'm 6dpo, temps quite low, lower than they usually are but they've been low all month. Also sleeping pattern is all over the place so impossible to take at the same time. Bloody knackered but putting that down to stupid sleep cycle. Loads of cm which is normal for me when gearing up to AF. I'm 10dpo on Saturday and it's dhs big 30th with loads of people staying over, lots of drinking and a whole day and night planned. and that's my test date as my lp is usually only about 8 days so we shall see if I'm getting hammered, secretly excited or frustrated with still no answers. It'll be tricky though as we have guests in the house to keep a straight face. Also wondering whether to hide the very obvious ttc paraphernalia that's in the bathroom cupboard? No one who's staying knows that we're trying.

Hang on in there Jam, got everything crossed for you, you never know!!
Talking of emotional, anyone watch Ethel & Ernest (an animation about the life of illustrator Raymond Briggs) over Christmas? I was a wreck! Really touching piece x

Tee4me · 02/01/2017 22:43

Beagles take temps with a pinch of salt this month I reckon! I went to bed at 4am New Year's Day and slept till 11, didn't even bother taking it then!! Ha, I have a big box at the bottom of my wardrobe for all my ttc gear! Includes an envelope as thick as the bible stashed full of empty opk packets, figure I will throw them all out once I get a bfp and pass the 12 week mark (had builders & decorators in all year, so didn't want to leave individual packets floating around our bins). Really hope you get a double celebration at the weekend!!
Let us know how you get on tomorrow DuRez x

Londonjam · 02/01/2017 22:52

Beagles sounds like you've got a great party planned! Really hope you're hiding a BFP grin. If you don't want people to know about TTC it's probably worth hiding OPK etc.

I'm not testing there isn't really any point 😔 AF will be here.

Hope everyone having a good start to the year 💐💐

MotherOfBeagles · 02/01/2017 22:54

Thanks tee I'm really trying to keep my head straight. I had so many "symptoms" last month it really got me down. And this month is next to zero chance we will be as only dtd o+1. So telling myself not going to happen!

Also I think I will hide all the ttc paraphernalia cba with the questions and weird looks. Dh thinks I'm being daft and no one looks in people's bathroom cupboards...

I've not seen that tee might have to have a look. Dh is back at work tomorrow so decs down and tidy up with crap on tv is the plan.

OP posts:
MotherOfBeagles · 02/01/2017 22:55

jam af might not turn up you never know! What makes you so sure she will?

OP posts:
Londonjam · 02/01/2017 22:59

12 months of failure hon ☹️ I just feel like it's never going to happen.

MotherOfBeagles · 02/01/2017 23:04

Ugh sucky times jam I can only imagine how you're feeling but you've got to keep your head up. You're doing all you can do and as shit as it feels you've got to try and keep reminding yourself that. I know it doesn't matter what anyone else says because when you feel like that, especially with this journey, nothing can change it. But we are here for you and you will get there in the end, by hook or by crook Brew

OP posts:
Footy1 · 02/01/2017 23:44

Chin up jam it will happen Flowers. Hoping for January BFPs from you girls!
Are you still doing pottery?
I'm thinking of doing something new.. not sure what yet! My mum bought me some huge knitting needles so might start knitting a chunky jumper.

I also got the box set 1-5 Call the Midwife so looking forward to balling my eyes out over that over the next few weeks! Funny how fast I forget about cycles. No idea where I am!! Obviously no clomid this time and with the stress not sure it will be straight forward cycle.

I've def not heard about these cups before.. amazing what we learn on here. Smile

MotherOfBeagles · 02/01/2017 23:49

Knitting sounds good footy I love it but am awful at it. I've signed myself up to a reading challenge, 12 British books read and reviewed as a minimum before 2017. But hoping for one a week at least.

I can't bring myself to watch call the midwife, ironically I'm terrified of pregnant women. I swear like an actual phobia, it's like when I see a spider I get nervous and need to back away and if I can't leave the room I need to know where they are at all times. I'm screwed if that little weirdo trait doesn't calm down soon.

Hi All!

jam I know it's hard to stay positive! Try to give yourself things to look forward to - plan thing you couldn't/ shouldn't do if you are pregnant.

durez hopefully that means your monitor is working for you!!

footy knitting is my meditation. Though I don't get much of a look in and the nice wools are all so expensive!

12 dpo today (I think) and feeling a bit crampy. Not holding out any hope for this cycle as dtd dates are pretty crappy (only 1 dtd ov -4). Trying to relax and plan if I am going back to work next week or not!

Pretty sure I've got mild depression and was definitely going through a much more severe episode in Nov/ Dec. Wow that's the first time I've said that out loud/ talked about it. Hoping it is all just related to my thyroid. But I'm trying to get that sorted! No results yet...

Londonjam · 03/01/2017 12:04

I just want to be pregnant though kate. I can fill my life with other things, but nothing else comes close.

I just don't think we can conceive naturally. How can we have been trying so hard all this and never had the slightest glimpse of a positive?
