LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

Congratulations kirsty Grin

Kirstyinnorway · 12/12/2016 09:29

Thanks pie. How's it going with the self catheter-ising? You've really been through it recently. When's AF due so we can find about about this teeny chance?

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/12/2016 09:34

Didn't someone else who got a BFP this month also do a handstand?! If gymnastics are required for this TTC business then frankly I'm just going to get another cat!

Congratulations Kirsty! What a lovely early Christmas present!

AF still loitering around here so obviously being totally dramatic and feeling like a massive failure - know by this time next week I'll feel better and we can get trying again but the whole thing is just such a drag!
xx

bassetmum · 12/12/2016 09:51

Kirsty no I won't be testing early if it's anything like last month af will take me by surprise and arrive early. Only managed 2 full dtds this month so its is a bfp it'll be a miracle

Redpony1 · 12/12/2016 11:07

Congratulations Kirsty!!

I can also never see the squinters, Kirsty (there are about four different threads on the first page of conception at the moment where everyone else can see a line but I would classify them as 100% negative) - but I can see that because it's not a squinter, it's an actual line!

I'm glad i'm not the only one who would see them as 100% negative if they were my own test, i'm going to be shockingly bad at knowing if it's positive or not when i start testing!

MouseLove · 12/12/2016 11:45

Kirsty, oh the lols, I'm brutal when it comes to seeing lines. I'm like, nope no line, move along, nothing to see.

I can totally see your line. WinkGrin

Sharl2017 · 12/12/2016 12:03

Hi all,
I'm new to all this so struggling with the acronyms.
I stopped taking Cerelle Saturday and we're now TTC. (Yay go me I figured that acronym!)
Reading through the threads, I feel I know very little!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/12/2016 12:10

Redpony that's how I managed to convince myself and get my hopes up last cycle... 'Ah, this test looks negative to me but maybe it is a squinter that I can't see? Best retest approximately four hundred times over three days at estimated cost of three gazillion pounds.' Three days later: AF comes, and I feel like an idiot!

Welcome, sharl! Just ask about any confusing acronyms, but there is a list here which seems to cover most of them: www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Common-Abbreviations.html. One that isn't on there but we seem to use quite a lot is DTD - do the deed, i.e. sex!

Sharl2017 · 12/12/2016 12:36

Oh my god thank you Lisa. Everything will make sense now!Smile

MrsG280516 · 12/12/2016 12:42

Massive congratulations Kirsty! Feel free to come and join the August antenatal thread when you feel ready Grin

HellsBellsK · 12/12/2016 12:42

Im going to start pratcining my hand stands I think Grin

Nothing really to report here. In the horrible 2ww at the moment.
Only difference this month was a bit of blood in my CM during my fertile week.
Very tired but not putting that down to getting a BFP - not sleeping great and really busy in work.
Like basset it will be a miracle if we do get a BFP as we only managed to do DTD twice during FW.

Welcome Sharl

bassetmum · 12/12/2016 13:10

Hells glad its not just me with the bad sleeping. Ive not slept properly for 3 weeks (2am and 5am are my friends). Ive also been really warm the last week or so. Who knows what that is about. I really don't want to have to do handstands my upper body is definitely not strong enough for that. Maybe I need to start up my yoga again.

HellsBellsK · 12/12/2016 13:13

I am the same as you but for the last 2 weeks, waking and not being able to go back to sleep, being so warm - which is also odd for me as I am always cold.
But I don't know - Im not getting my hopes up. Im sure if I google that Mr.Google will tell me I'm 100% pregnant Confused

Piehunter · 12/12/2016 15:03

kirsty Continence nurse coming Thursday for lessons on how to stick things in my peehole Confused Xmas Grin til then I've still got an indwelling catheter. Today I finish the antibiotics which have given me many migraines and much nausea for a week, yayyyy!

AF was due today according to ovia, but no spotting yet which happens day before.. I think I ov'd late so I'm clueless as to when I'm waiting for!!

flora I find it useful to think of AF as my body preparing for a new month of ttc, hope it's done soon and you start feeling better

Lisa I'm with you on the handstand malarkey, I fall over enough as it is, none for me Blush

basset and hells fx for you!

Sharl welcome!

Blissfulignorance · 12/12/2016 15:24

Wow busy thread!

First of all YES!! Kirsty!! Congratulations!! Definitely not a squinted! So happy for you.

Lisa that cat joke made me spit a bit of tea out laughing. Worryingly having the same thoughts

Pie hope the continence nurse helps you and you get some peace soon (and a BFP)

I've just woken up from my nights which were the most 3 horrendous night shifts I've ever done. The stress my job gives is surely not ideal when TTC. Anyway AF due Wednesday, usual pre AF cramps sore boobs and zits. I'm sure I'm out despite my 9 day marathon. I'm absolutely shattered but we all know why that it haha.

florafoxtrot · 12/12/2016 15:30

Thanks Pie, think I just need a good nights sleep and a massive dose of perspective. I hope you are OK too, sounds like you've had a tough time of things.

Charactarantula · 12/12/2016 18:29

I'm out today the witch AF arrived, although with less vengeance than usual. I'm kind of glad, in a way, as pleased my cycle is now settling after coming off the pill.
Fx for everyone else x

Charactarantula · 12/12/2016 18:30

Ps congratulations kirsty Grin

Pyjamas81 · 12/12/2016 19:00

I neglect MN for one day and come back to learn that handstands are the secret! No way my weedy spaghetti arms will allow that, so perhaps shoulder stand and bicycling motion instead ha ha. DH would have me sectioned Xmas Grin

Sorry witch arrived tarantula - it's never nice, but as you say, good to feel like cycles are settling.

8dpo here and no real symptoms other than weirdly getting a nosebleed for the first time in my life yesterday, then another one today. Am getting on a plane tomorrow - hope my sinuses behave! Had some shooting pain in my right boob - but probably wouldn't have even noticed it if not TTC!

JoanneF26 · 12/12/2016 19:11

Congratulations kirsty great to see a bfp on here!

I just need to have a vent - this is my 1st cycle off the pill and I think I'm around 6dpo - I feel so rough, I just want AF to get here, I am hating that pill withdrawal symptoms and bfp symptoms are so similar Angry

I am trying so hard not to get my hopes up as in reality I know 6dpo is too soon for symptoms and have read some horror stories about coming off Cerelle and I am certainly starting to feel that way Confused

Kirstyinnorway · 12/12/2016 20:33

Grin lisa on the cat comment!

Yep headstand is definitely the way to go. If you lean against a wall (or wardrobe) though, it's more about balance than strength I think? The real trick is to do it naked... I thought I had a flat stomach until that point Confused

basset and all the others who don't test early, I really admire your strength (as I sit here 4 days prior to AF with three peed-on sticks). I now also feel like I've ruined the excitement with DH as we both spent all of Sunday peering at a FRER trying not to get excited and now it looks clearer, the moment is gone! Never mind.

mouse I'd always rather have someone tell me it's not there than pretend it was! Brutal is best Grin

hells hoping your TWW goes quick... Only takes one lucky swimmer to make a baby. (Isn't that an odd thought).

pie delighted for you that the antibiotics can be stopped now, nausea and migraines sound truly miserable. As does self-catheterising too actually, but I suppose better than another hospital appointment Sad
AF stuff sounds a bit weird?! I'm really hoping you get some good news despite you not expecting it.

bliss I'll be properly annoyed on your behalf if your DTD marathon doesn't stop the arrival of AF, what a lot of effort.

Thanks to everyone I've yet to mention who congratulated me, I hope it's Ok if I stick around for another wee while to make sure all is Ok? I don't get my first doc's appointment for another 4-6 weeks over here... I called today to ask and the response was "why do you want to come in now? Pregnancy isn't an illness." (She was nice about it but obviously confused). I explained how it works in the UK and she did check with a doctor but they definitely don't want me in before 8 weeks preggo, and they would prefer 10.

Also I'm a nosy bugger and I want to know how you all get on Grin

Piehunter · 13/12/2016 00:33

Oh there will be hospital appointments aplenty kirsty, I have 4 booked between now and Feb at the moment and I'm sure they'll be added to. I haven't been to a and e in 9 days which is an achievement this month, ha! Definitely stick around until you're happy to move on Smile MORE patient waiting for you!!

tarantula sorry for AF, great that cycles are settling though.

Joanne I really think for lots of people the first couple of months off pill are practice months, if you try and get in that mindset you're less likely to be disappointed, your body has to re establish it's own hormones. Have fun trying for now Wink

bliss sorry you've had such a rough run of shifts. Hope AF stays away after your hard work!

pj's enjoy your time away! Prepare with many tissues in case of mid-flight nosebleed Confused

bassetmum · 13/12/2016 19:36

Oops my awful nights sleep have caught up with me good and proper just had a two hour nap after work. I'm thinking its that not preggo as I am only 4/5dpo haha. Sodding tww really does mess with my usually logical mind

Sharl2017 · 13/12/2016 20:03

Joanne I've recently come off Cerelle and I feel like absolute arse... I'm also acting like one. Someone please tell me it gets better. I never thought I'd say it but I want my AF here so I feel like my body is actually doing something!!
