LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

Eva fx Sod's law helps out for you! ;)

Sorry about AF pie. Glad you are able to find a silver lining. Hopefully preparing for moving will be a positive distraction from cycle 8 and this will be your month!

I'm currently struggling through my first tww. Also very busy at work, which is probably helping take my mind off things, but it's a little bit like torture!

Pyjamas81 · 26/01/2017 08:01

A miracle has occurred and we dtd this morning - that was a first! We are done for this cycle now - dtd 5 times out of last six days, just need ov to be picked up now so I can forget about the damn thermometer for a while!

Good news on your holiday Eva - at the end of the day, we have to live our lives or we'd go mad. And if you're pg, so be it and I doubt you'll care about cancelling!

bassetmum · 26/01/2017 10:29

Well done pjs. I didn't end up dtd last night as I was fast asleep before my oh finally made it to bed. Got up late too this morning. Not sure tonight will happen as he wont be home till late but we will see. I did tell him this morning though that I wanted to dtd last night and all I got was oh sorry. Men eh!! When I was on the pill I pretty much had him asking for it as I had bugger all drive.

Unicorn the tww can be absolute hell if you let it. Just remember (easier to say then do) that most pg symptoms aren't felt till weeks 5-6.

Pyjamas81 · 26/01/2017 10:41

Men are so annoying sometimes basset! I sometimes have to text my DH from the bedroom if it looks like he's going to be downstairs too long ha ha. At least you haven't had a +ve OPK yet so no big loss!

Ah yes - the first TWW unicorn- mine was hell! Totally convinced myself I was pg to the point where I felt nausea, had all kinds of symptoms which ended up being AF symptoms I just wasn't familiar with as hadn't had AF for years! So I know try to assume any symptom is AF and don't temp after ov - it's the only way to stay somewhat sane.

allthecheese · 26/01/2017 11:59

Heyy, you may remember me moaning (anf panicking!) a fair bit a few pages ago about my glorious 50+ day cycle and where the hell AF had gone?! Well on day 56 she returned. So yay for my body being a bit more normal, and bring on this cycle!!

Anyway, sounds like there has been a lot of well timed shagging going on so good luck all!!

Mrskjneate · 26/01/2017 13:45

Hi ladies! I'm 27, TCC for the first time. Fell pregnant in Nov 16 but sadly it ended in miscarriage around week 4. Trying to get my head around the changes I need to make to my lifestyle....healthy eating/exercise/checking temperature regularly etc! Finding it all a bit overwhelming but am wanting to do the best I can do to conceive xx

Kaydee2017 · 26/01/2017 16:51

Everything crossed for you kiwi & Eva for FW coming up & invoking Sod's law with your holiday booking Grin

I'm another in he public sector - I have never known it as bad in the 10 years I've been working Sad

Hope you're able to maintain any form of sanity unicorn, TWW sucks!

Pyjamas you must be in with an amazing shot this cycle GrinGrin

Basset no harm in making it a quickie later, every little helps?!

Weird to say but glad AF has got you cheese - hope her stay is short & you are back on it for the next cycle asap Smile

Hi mrsk, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage Flowers TTC is overwhelming but I find talking to the ladies on this thread who are in the same boat a massive help, hopefully you will too! Hope your stay here is short! Where abouts in your cycle are you?

Had a monster week at work this week! Right on FW too - shocking timing! Day off DTD yesterday but back on it tonight, tomorrow & Saturday hopefully, day off work tomorrow too so envisaging a huge lay in Grin

Mrskjneate · 26/01/2017 17:35

Thanks kaydee - I'm cycle day 19 so not too long to go to see if this month has been the month! I've had sore boobs for the past 2 days and feeling overwhelmingly tired, but it's funny how your body can trick you into feeling what you hope to feel!! Where abouts are you in your cycle? Have you been TTC for very long? xx

DancingUnicorn · 26/01/2017 23:09

Thanks all! Basset, it's actually really useful to hear that pg symptoms usually start later! Hopefully now my brain will stop tricking me into feeling nauseous!

bassetmum · 27/01/2017 09:38

Well my dtd was an epic !!! Fail last night. First somehow I managed to kick him in the nads and then he ended up bending himself so know finishing. Im starting to think its when I initiate things as it always seems to go wrong. At least my opk was negative again yesterday. Hopefully with it being the weekend we can make greater effort.

Unicorn it is amazing how our bodies trick us.

Kaydee a huge lie in sounds fab. With my puppy one us can't have a lie in.

Pyjamas81 · 27/01/2017 10:18

Oh no basset! Sometimes dtd just doesn't work out! But as you say, at least no positive opk yet.

Bit annoyed with myself today - went to the work do last night and got pretty tipsy. I feel fine today but just annoyed that I did that after all the effort we put in this week 😕 It meant my temp for this morning was sky high as well (always is the morning after I've had a drink) which makes it difficult to pick up ov. Bah. DH annoyed with me as well, I deserve it!

bassetmum · 27/01/2017 10:39

Oh no pjs. If I did drink I would probably be having the odd one. Its so stressful this ttc and at the end of the day we all need to live as we would normally have done. I can't imagine it would have done any harm either. Why is dh annoyed with you?

Pyjamas81 · 27/01/2017 10:45

I think that's it basset - I always feel so stressed out during FW, when it's finally over, all I want to do is let my hair down a bit. Perhaps I need to find ways of doing that which don't involve the pub! DH mainly annoyed that I came in at 1.30 and woke him up (I thought I was being quiet - clearly not!), but I think also because we really went for it this week to give us the best chance and the first thing I do is drink. Fair enough - I would be annoyed with him as well, so all I can do is say sorry!

EMHW123 · 27/01/2017 11:10

Pjs Jealous of your pub action- I'm normally in the pub 2/3 days at weekend but doing dry Jan 😭

Has anyone's Aunt Flo been erratic since ttc? I've gone from 3 days to a week! 😳

Basset fx for a positive opk this weekend-working and trying to fit in dtd is difficult I feel.

Unicorn I had such nausea last month I was truly convinced I was pg! I've decided not to test until at least 1 day late.

Least it's Friday! Phew!

bassetmum · 27/01/2017 13:51

Emhw my af has gone the other way. It used to last 5days now lucky if its two days. Very odd as before i went on the pill af was horrifically heavy and went on for nearly a week.

yellowfrontdoor · 27/01/2017 14:57

So I've been doing opks for 5 days now but today's result was significantly darker (not dark enough for a positive but much more visible). According to my app I ov next week. Do the opks get darker the closer to ov you get?!

Feeling for the kick in the nads basset!

We've been dtd every other day now for a while. We ended up talking arguing about who sang a song on the radio the other night, during dtd Blush Grin!!

Definitely a functionality to my sex life at the mo!

bassetmum · 27/01/2017 17:09

Yellow i find mine get progressively darker. Cd 11 today and Ive finally got a hint of a line on my opk. Off on a date night to the ballet tonight so hopefully won't be too functional a dtd session tonight if we actually dont kill each other tonight haha.

kiwi17 · 28/01/2017 08:19

CD27 today and I think 12dpo do you think I should test or wait? Last cycle was 36 days but before that they were 24/25! Argh getting to that crucial point in the TWW wait again haha!

Pyjamas81 · 28/01/2017 09:32

I would wait until 14dpo kiwi, but I always try to avoid seeing a BFN!

Yellow - mine get progressively darker as well. Mine and DH's dtd has become very functional as well! Romance well and truly out the window - particular low point last cycle when as soon as he'd finished he wondered out loud what to order from deliveroo 😂

My AF is the same basset - lucky if it's two days! The only thing that stops me from spiralling into worry about my lining being too thin is the fact that my mum's AFs were exactly the same.

Dollydaydream2829 · 28/01/2017 09:45

Hi girls,
Hope everyone is OK and enjoying FW or trying to distract themselves from the 2ww! I'm right bang in the middle of my wait, still another week to wait if my timing is right. Not symptom spotting this month unlike last month! I'm pretty nauseous this morning but that's due to the fact I had mt best friends 30th last night and had a couple of drinks -off the January 'no drinking' wagon .... got to take advantage of the first weekend I've had off in 2017!

bassetmum · 28/01/2017 11:30

Well i had another chat with my oh this morning as every time this week he's not been interested. Which doesn't help my already low self esteem. I think we've got a few more days to try this month but we'll see. Its frustrating.

Pyjamas81 · 28/01/2017 11:49

That's tough basset - did your DH give a reason?

Sounds like you had a good night dolly!

Me and (no longer grumpy) DH are off for a skiing lesson today - I've never done it before, but nervous, but it's a couple of hours not thinking about ttc!

yellowfrontdoor · 28/01/2017 12:04

Is this a positive?! If it is I need to get home!!!!

First time TTC - thread five!
Pyjamas81 · 28/01/2017 12:15

Yep - the line is darker than control line so definitely a positive! Get home and get busy immediately!!

DancingUnicorn · 28/01/2017 12:28

Run yellow run!

Sorry basset, that must be a tough conversation. Hopefully these next couple of days will be easier!
