LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

Hi dolly! Remember opks are only positive if the second line is as dark or darker than the test line. Welcome to the crazy train.

Wow thats a pretty decent opk there pjs. Mine this afternoon was a negative as negative can get. Im only cd8 so not surprised. Although definitely got the ewcm and cp is getting favourable. Last month my positive opk was on cd11 so got a few days yet.

Pie the cake reference made me chuckle

Dollydaydream2829 · 24/01/2017 20:59

Thanks bassetmum, still getting my head around them! In that case, Friday was the day that the line came back as dark as control line, only after about 5mins though - is this normal? Sorry for the daft questions.
We're not telling anyone about TTC and I'm pretty sure my DH already thinks I'm mental and I've not even gone into that much depth!! Grin so I'm afraid my inner madness will no doubt come out in this group!! Good luck to all those starting their FW this week - sending lots of baby dust!

Pyjamas81 · 24/01/2017 21:19

Welcome dolly!* Like basset* says, opks are only positive if the line is the same as or darker than control line. LH levels vary throughout the month, so mine vary from no line, to varying levels of faint lines, to positive all the time! And yep - as long as it's within 10mins, it's an accurate result 👍🏼

Ah pie - I'm the same - I tell myself every damn cycle that I won't symptom spot, remain pretty calm for first week of TWW, then am thrown another new symptom!!

Really can't be bothered to dtd tonight - wish we hadn't last night now 😩

Pyjamas81 · 24/01/2017 21:20

Bold fail!

Dollydaydream2829 · 24/01/2017 21:27

Thanks pyjamas. The only thing that threw me when i had that slightly fainter line yesterday, was that i had a tiny bit of spotting, which i know can come with ovulation. Or maybe just mid cycle random spotting? Who knows?? I always thought I would be one of those 'go with the flow' type ladies when ttc, yet here I am, analysing ovulation sticks I can barely understand and I'm really only on cycle 3. Hopefully by next month (if required), I'll be a bit more on the ball with the OPKs. Star

Pyjamas81 · 24/01/2017 21:35

Ah yes - I've had ovulation spotting before! And remember opks only give you a heads up that you're about to ovulate, they don't tell you when you actually are or whether you did ovulate in the end - the only thing that confirms that is temping Smile

Don't worry, we've all been there!! Fx you'll get your BFP soon and you won't have to fanny about with opks anymore!

Kaydee2017 · 24/01/2017 21:43

Hi dolly! We all release our inner crazy here so you're in good company! Hope you figure the OPKs out soon!

Pyjamas I think I will be having the same thoughts as you towards the end of the week! CD12 and have managed CD 6, 9, 10 & 12 so far (had to today as can't tomorrow!), so aim is 14, 15, 16 and/or 17! Only plus is that it will be the weekend so that may combat some loss of sleep!! Lay bank & think of TTC?? Grin

Hope your OPKs pick up soon basset! Fx!

Dollydaydream2829 · 24/01/2017 21:45

I've read a few posts now relating to temping - I'll start looking into that if no success over the next couple months! I work shifts and start very early some mornings so don't know how reliable I'd be at that! Thanks for your input though pyjamas! Wishing you all the luck for this cycle, especially after your HSG - I specialise in obs & gynae and see a lot of women going though that procedure that come back pregnant within a cycle or two! FX!

kiwi17 · 24/01/2017 21:50

Welcome newbies :) CD23 here and well into 2WW and trying hard to ignore it! No point me symptom spotting, I never seem to get any.. At least I've got my second ridiculous cold/chest infection of January to keep me feeling horrific and not thinking about much more than crawling out of bed, crawling through work, crawling back into bed again... It's a great distraction. FX for all you starting FW I seem to be at the other end to most people!

Pyjamas81 · 24/01/2017 21:56

Thanks dolly - good to hear about what you've seen about HSGs! Trying not to get hopes up, and failing ha ha. I only temp until ovulation is picked up, then I hide away the thermometer until AF appears to minimise the TWW crazies!

Pyjamas81 · 24/01/2017 21:59

Wow kaydee that's such an impressive effort! I will be so totally sick of ttc by Thursday night, I'll want to lay back and think of absolutely anything else!

Kaydee2017 · 25/01/2017 06:57

That sounds rough kiwi! Although silver lining could be less symptom spotting in TWW? Here's to a nice surprise shiny BFP Grin

Thanks pyjamas, I'm imagining this effort will wear off after a cycle or 2, so trying to maximise our chances while we still consider it fun!! Will be worth it though for you in the TWW wait when you know you've done everything you can this cycle with the HSG! Hope you manage to keep going!!

Pyjamas81 · 25/01/2017 07:14

Sorry you're feeling 💩 kiwi - when are you testing?

Yes kaydee make the most of it! Me and DH have never been an at it like rabbits type of couple, so FW is always an effort for us! Dtd last night, so we're halfway there. Dtd again tonight and tomorrow - although tomorrow is tricky as I've got a work evening do and if we dtd tonight, chances of DH being even able to on tomorrow morning are slim to none Confused Really hope I ov today or tomorrow!!

Piehunter · 25/01/2017 08:20

go pj's, go pj's you can do it! It's so hard to dtd repeatedly when it's not coming naturally, trying to get in the mood and knowing you'll regret not doing it enough in the tww...

kiwi sorry you're ill again, chest infections suck!

kaydee definitely make the most of it being fun, hopefully you won't get to the frustrated stage!

Gahhh I'm out! Onto cycle 8 (seriously the working out that goes into this is hilarious 😂). Luckily the idea of NOT moving house in 6 weeks with morning sickness/utter exhaustion is helping. But still. I had hoped the mega distraction was going to do it. Bugger.

Pyjamas81 · 25/01/2017 08:55

Oh no sorry about AF pie! BAH - what a mothereffer. But yes, moving house without morning sickness is a definite silver lining 👍🏼

I've got very definite pain on my right side this morning - why is it always on my right side?? Typical - left tube was totally and utterly clear, no effort at all for the dye to get through, yet I always seems to sodding ovulate from the stubborn side!

florafoxtrot · 25/01/2017 10:23

Sorry to hear about AF Pie. She's a freaking horror. Make sure there is a large bar of chocolate that's not been packed into a moving box!

I really don't think this is going to be our month (Cycle7) ovulation has been really late - if its happened at all. We've been DTD EOD for 2 weeks now too so will be interested to see when AF does actually show up. Trying to not get so pissed off about it all as don't think that helps but its just so annoying!!

Keep going PJs. We have faith in you!

bassetmum · 25/01/2017 10:25

Oh thats💩pie. At least its a good silver lining to moving.

Im hoping to dtd again tonight as then it will be cd7 and 9. Fingers crossed we can stick to every other day till the back end of next week. Although Mondays dtd was nice as it wasn't a forced ish one, we'd been play fighting lol.

Funny you say that pjs. My ovulation has felt like on the right side every month bar the first one so I wonder if its that causing the ongoing pain on that side. Hopefully the dr next week can figure it out. I'd always thought it alternated with ovulation obviously not.

Oh no kiwi. Hope you feel better soon.

Dollydaydream2829 · 25/01/2017 11:21

Thanks for the welcome kaydee!
Sorry to hear you got AF visiting again pie! Pyjamas, maybe you're gonna have luck this time if you O on the right side all the time and you've had a clear out! FX.
Hopefully you get your BFP this month florafoxtrot, chances are you maybe missed it when looking but if you've been DTD then you'll have hopefully caught it anyway?!

florafoxtrot · 25/01/2017 11:28

Thanks Dolly. Fingers crossed but I'm not that hopeful - just hope the TWW passes quickly so we can get down to it again ;)

Plan sounds good Basset.

Kaydee2017 · 25/01/2017 17:18

Also on the go pjs chant!! Keep it up!! Any sign of Ov?? I'm the same as basset, I thought it alternated. You do learn something new every day Grin

Sorry AF got you pie!! Good to be able to find a silver lining though, & gear up for cycle 8 Smile

That does sound annoying flora! What CD are you now? That is a cracking DTD effort, so if you have ov'd you have all bases covered!

Fx you can keep it up basset, good to know you've done all you can once it gets to the TWW!!

Pyjamas81 · 25/01/2017 18:50

Thanks guys!! At home and gearing up for another session of dtd 😱. We must we must esp as tomorrow is probably going to be a write of for dtd - next to no chance of dtd in the morning and I'm out late for a work do. Please please please let me have ov'd yesterday or today!

Just did a cheapie opk (pic below) - and while it's pretty close to a positive, I don't think it quite is, so surge is coming down, but that doesn't tell me anything on whether I have ov'd or not. Hopefully temps will confirm soon!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets ov pain only on one side!

First time TTC - thread five!
kiwi17 · 25/01/2017 19:34

Thanks for the sympathy guys, I'm so frustrated because there are so many teachers off at work and yet I've dragged myself in everyday but works even harder because I'm covering loads of peoples jobs basically.. Arghhh um I am CD24 today, either 9 or 10dpo I think although not entirely certain! What do you think? My last cycle was 36 days so was kind of not thinking about it..

Eva30 · 25/01/2017 20:50

Hi dolly
Feel better soon kiwi
Sorry for af pie
pjs I get ov pain most months and it's usually on the right side! Good days dedication

I'm on cd11, expect ov cd15 so started doing opks this morning.

bassetmum · 25/01/2017 21:36

My opk on cd9 was negative again today. Not surprised as I usually ov on cd14/15.

I work in the civil service so I know how hard it is when people are off kiwi. Stress seems to be the biggest cause of sick leave at the mo. Not surprised really

Eva30 · 26/01/2017 05:33

pjs that should have said good dtd dedication!
basset and kiwi I'm in public services as well and it's awful at the moment.
Is lisa still here? How are you getting on?

I booked a holiday for Sept last night - risky I know, but if I have to cancel due to pg I'd be delighted!
