First time TTC - thread five!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29

Cycle day 1

They told me it won't be hugely painful but 'uncomfortable' and considering I find smear tests nearly impossible, I'm guessing it's not going to be pleasant! I may get cramping/spotting straight afterwards, but hopefully better in time for fertile week to kick off on Saturday! Lots of people seem to get a BFP after having it done, so am trying to not get my hopes up at the same time as keeping my fx that I'm one of them! Going to start with opks again tomorrow just in case my ovaries decide to play games again this month. That egg is not escaping!!

Pyjamas81 · 18/01/2017 15:40

And boo to dentist - the injection is the worst bit!!

bassetmum · 18/01/2017 15:54

I agree with pjs the injection is the worse bit.

Well Ive booked a drs appointment. Not till the 31st its a joke when you don't want an emergency appointment. Ill be just about in my fw again then. So who knows. I just hope it isnt pcos or endometriosis. Or my appendix for that matter. It had my doubled over yesterday. The puppy climbed over me and I screamed it hurt that much.

Sophpau · 18/01/2017 16:21

Day 1 of cycle
Very excited it is my first time TTC I am a bit worried that I'm my mind it's going to happen straight away but in reality I know it can take a while to happen and I'm soo impatient

Hippychic79 · 18/01/2017 16:30

Thank you for my birthday wishes ladies - busy day so haven't had time to read all the thread yet - but just wanted to say thanks :)

Welcome soph :)

Baby dust to all xx

Kaydee2017 · 18/01/2017 18:38

Major fx for you pyjamas, I get you bit getting your hopes up, but the luck has to fall on someone's side, so why can't it be you?? Smile

Good news on the docs appt too basset, and hope you have an understanding GP too & they can get you somewhere or reassure you properly!

Hi soph!

Dentist was so embarrassing Blushcouldn't even have he injection without the numbing gel that they give to kids first BlushBlushBlush how on earth with I cope with birth Shock

Kaydee2017 · 18/01/2017 18:43

Sorry soph, my phone deleted the rest of the paragraph I wrote! Probably a good idea to adjust your expectations early, it can take a while, then if it does happen quickly it'll be a brilliant surprise for you!

Are you coming off BC at all?

Fx & good luck starting Smile

Partridge27 · 18/01/2017 19:04

Hi all, mind if I join?

29
TTC #1
Cycle 2
CD 16

I had my second nexplanon implant removed in early December so hadn't had AF in nearly 4 years. I'd always struggled with very irregular cycles and really painful AF prior to that including fainting often so I'm hoping something might have changed!

Seahawk80 · 18/01/2017 19:08

Just wanted to say good luck for Friday Pjs hopefully it clears the way for a
Bfp!

Seahawk80 · 18/01/2017 19:09

Oh and thanks baguette for saying we're the opposite of baby bombs. That was nice to hear. I still can't believe it's actually happening to be honest.

kiwi17 · 18/01/2017 19:14

Hi partridge I was on Nexplanon too, I had mine removed at the beginning of October 16 and still trying to puzzle out my cycles!

lexilou86 · 18/01/2017 19:27

im really hoping this is it!!!
am i driving myself insane? af due 25th

Lollysofa · 18/01/2017 20:15

Thanks guys. Kaydee2017 No I have never taken the pill, everyone thinks that's weird but just never got on with them so I'm hoping it means I'm not waiting as long 😬

Lollysofa · 18/01/2017 20:17

Had to change my username from sophpau new log in

allthecheese · 18/01/2017 22:10

Welcome Soph/Lol! Totally know what you mean about something in your head going 'it could happen straight away'. That's the annoying thing about TTC, it could happen at any time, so it's really difficult to plan!

I'm just going to throw this out there as a question. What is the most likely reason that I am on day 50 of my cycle (before this had 3 months off the pill with fairly regular cycles), plus v sore nips...and 2 negative pregnancy tests taken a week or so ago?

a) Pregnant, with false negative tests
b) Skipped a period due to random Christmas stress or general coming off the pill weirdness
c) Have PCOS?

Actually, reading that it feels like it is obviously b.

Can you all tell that I am going crazy?!

DancingUnicorn · 18/01/2017 22:55

Cheese cycles are so cruel it seems! I would never have noticed before I was ttc (pre pill) but now I know exactly when to expect it. (The torture!) so any variation seems unjust!

KittyKat73 · 19/01/2017 11:41

Cheese you and I are definately the same person!

CD49 today 2 negative tests this cycle to just be sure! and those options you gave yourself are the very 3 im debating on for myself. I have decided to go to my GP if i reach 1st Feb with no AF appearing as that would be CD62.

Hope your appointment goes well basset!
and FX for you pjs! hope everything goes well for you too :)

xx

allthecheese · 19/01/2017 12:44

Kittykat think that's a good call. In the meanime I'll keep my fingers crossed that yours returns!!

Pyjamas81 · 19/01/2017 13:43

Ugh - I'm so annoyed with myself - went out and had a skin full last night which was great fun as needed to let off some steam. Lost my wallet though and woke up with The Guilt this morning - the self-loathing is strong today!

Kaydee2017 · 19/01/2017 14:10

Hi partridge! Not the same, but my post pill AF halved in length, still painful, but at least that's something - fx for you!

Lexi fx for you also! Hope AF stays away.

Cheese, it probably is b! Think kitty has a good idea about setting a date then seeing GP, if for nothing other than invoking Sod's law, but hopefully for reassurance!

Ha pyjamas, are you at work? I am too old for work night drinking! Sucks about the lost wallet, hope there wasn't anything important in there & you can get you cards reissued asap! And PMA - at least you have taken your mind off TTC for approx 30 seconds with the self loathing too?! Wink

Pyjamas81 · 19/01/2017 14:27

Yep am at work kaydee - it's been a struggle! Had to cancel about 6 cards and there was a photo from our wedding in there which I'm really annoyed about. Bah! But yes - the self-loathing is at least a distraction! HSG tomorrow - at least I won't be hungover for that!

Kaydee2017 · 19/01/2017 14:56

Ha that is definitely the worst pyjamas! Sorry about the wedding picture though Sad Are you all psyched up for tomorrow?!

Pyjamas81 · 19/01/2017 15:04

Yeah it was one of those mini Polaroid ones so no copies of it anywhere - annoying!

Yep, all psyched up and have antibiotics and painkillers ready for tomorrow. Hard not to get hopes up that I'll be one of the lucky ones who gets a BFP soon after, but I mustn't get hopes up!

allthecheese · 19/01/2017 16:11

Good luck pyjamas. I had a google and it does sound like there are a lot of cases of an increase in fertility post the treatment. Exciting!

Kaydee2017 · 19/01/2017 18:09

Will be thinking of you pyjamas! What time are you in / out? Does it take long?
