Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

Sorry x posted basset & hippy! Is it definitely AF basset?? Flowers I get you as well hippy, so much more pressure on something that's supposed to be fun / relaxing when TTC!!

allthecheese · 17/01/2017 07:26

Hippy thanks for the info on accupuncture. I'm going to get involved. Stupid long cycles.

Also feeling your pain on DTD! We are on a skiing hol with a group of people at the moment and it's impossible. I think I need to write this cycle off sadly.

Eva30 · 17/01/2017 08:32

basset so sorryFlowers
pjs fab - good luck for Friday Flowers
hippy that is amazing £7.50 for acupuncture! I'm in the north west and I enquiried and it's £38 per hour

bassetmum · 17/01/2017 08:43

Kaydee I think it is as I feel like someone has stuck red hot poker into my lower right abdomen and then crampy all over. Although at the moment it's only when I wipe.

Going to have a chat with my oh about making a better effort this month. I'm not that upset this month as it would have made it a busy September otherwise.

Pyjamas81 · 17/01/2017 10:46

Ah basset - so sorry 💐 you're not out until AF is here, but I understand why you're preparing for it.

7.50 for acupuncture!! It's £75 for the initial consultation then £60 for follow ups where I am in SW London!

I'm in a better mood today - AF cleared off yesterday and I feel better knowing I've got my HSG booked for Friday. Day before FW kicks off again, so fx it's well timed!

KittyKat73 · 17/01/2017 11:22

hey Cheese Sorry to hear your on the same boat as me i never thought i would see the day i was desperate for period! last week i have had 2 hot baths, done a trampoline exercise class and even wore my nicest knickers to encourage AF to appear. Suppose we can only wait it out i think if nothing appears and it hits February ill make a GP appointment.

hippie thanks for the idea of acupuncture ill need to hunt about in a few places as i don't know if anyone local does it might need to travel to the city ( live in west of Scotland area)

basset sorry to hear that Flowers

pjs FX for you!

Kaydee i can relate every month i always discreetly suggest we DTD more often. but our jobs are making it difficult i work 12.5 hour shifts so when i get home i just want fed, showered and put to bed! My partner is up at 6am mon to fri for work and gets home about 5.30pm from work but goes to play sport shortly after work 2 days a week so doesn't get home till 10.30pm. As you say takes the fun and spontaneity out of it all

LisaSimpsonsbff · 17/01/2017 12:40

Hi all, just checking in. So sorry for AF, basset.

My 'relaxed month' here isn't so relaxing at the moment! DH couldn't finish last night, which means we somehow have to squeeze it in tonight even though we're both out for the evening. I'm away for work from tomorrow until Sat, and although it's a bit early for ovulation (I'm not using OPKs this month, but going by the last two months I'd expect to ovulate next Tues) I'd like to make sure we've DTD before I go just in case.

To be honest I'm wavering a bit on the whole thing at the moment. I know it hasn't been that long trying for us, but I'm properly fed up with it now. Work's also been really good recently, and I keep swinging between being desperate for a baby and then thinking about all the other things I could do if we waited longer... I feel so guilty for even writing this down, like the fertility gods will punish me for not being absolutely 100% certain all the time!

So sorry basset - hope you're OK. Stupid witch rocking up on a Tuesday too when you can't really decide if its acceptable to have wine - hate it when she does that - I'd go for it.
I'm another one that can relate struggling to get the motivation to keep DTD and finding enough "diversity" to keep hubby going. Only advice would be to keep calm and put the ball in their court to have another "go" as it reduces the pressure. Sure all the DH out there want this as much as we do - their bodies just fail them at times!
Hope your cycles sort themselves out soon ladies - I've only had one odd cycle and she rocked up once I'd booked for a blood test - think it was probably the release of pressure as I knew I'd get some answers which brought her on - again - old witch!
Know what you mean Lisa - sometimes you just want a break from it all, you could try NTNP for a few months and acknowledge that you are focused on work for the meantime and will deal with a pregnancy if it happens? If you put it the other way - you actively try and then have to deal with it not happening and that works out!
Really good deal on accupuncture Hippie - I still need to go back on the other thread about the reflexology but it was £50 for a session!

bassetmum · 17/01/2017 14:09

Its really odd today. Got really achy cramps with the odd sharp pain but I am barely bleeding at all. Not going to convince myself it's anything other than af though as there is no point in getting your hopes up. Obviously any googling which I obviously have done comes back with 12dpo cramps and spotting = implantation.

I don't really drink so thats not a problem. Might have a big bar of chocolate instead.

Kaydee2017 · 17/01/2017 14:37

Flowers basset, it sucks big time this business!!! Dr Google also sucks big time!! Hopefully AF stays well away for you, fx!

Pyjamas looks like we will be due BFPs at the same time again this month, fx all the way!!

Flowers Lisa too, sorry you are struggling. As flora said, Would NTNP be an option? The fertility gods would probably exact Sod's law on you too then Grin

I can tell I wrote my DTD post early on a morning too, it's only 2.30 & I am already thinking of going home & getting into bed! Must. Persevere. With. Plan!!!

I am trying to keep my PMA going with the fact that my post pill AF was half the length it was while I was on the pill, crossing everything that this trend continues, although obviously if my BFP arrives first then so be it Halo

Pyjamas81 · 17/01/2017 14:52

FFS basset - I'm annoyed for you! Sounds like what was happening to me a few days ago - and of course google got my damn hopes up. But, it could mean the opposite for you, so I'm still keeping my fx!

When are you due to test kaydee? If I ovulate when predicted, I'll be testing on the 11th. But, that's if ovulation plays ball this month, it was a week early last time!

allthecheese · 17/01/2017 16:28

I've been on this board for a day, and already I am ridiculously relieved to find out that you guys struggle to make time to DTD, lose periods, and have feelings of 'if I do get pregnant, then I'll have to give up...'

Thank goodness there are others just like me!!

Kaydee2017 · 17/01/2017 17:35

FF is telling me 12th pyjamas, that's assuming this cycle conforms to the last one!! Although I may chicken out - I resisted testing last cycle and not really overly excited to see my first BFP to be honest!!

Any news basset??

Ha, cheese, the TTC world is just plain crazy!!

kiwi17 · 17/01/2017 19:44

So I did an opk on Saturday and it was negative, DTD on sat anyway, had loads of EWCM on Monday so i tested again on mon eve but came out even more negative than Saturday, ie the line was really faint.... DTD on Monday as well and no CM today! Argh any ideas? Did I ovulate on Sunday?? And if so was dtd yesterday too late? Is it possible to have EWCM and not ovulate?? My cycles are all over the place as I've said due to the implant being removed in Oct but Monday would have been CD15 and my cycles have been 25-36 days... Help please feeling defeated with these opk sticks that are always negative :(

bassetmum · 17/01/2017 20:12

Kiwi unfortunately opks don't actually tell you that you ovulated just that your body is gearing up to it. Sometimes we do miss the surge though.

Cheese that was exactly my reaction to joining this board we are not alone. It sounds crazy but I'll miss this board if I do get up duffed.

Well I think I am out. Still bleeding, cramps are awful and tmi alert I have been peeing and farting a goodun which is normally a sign for me. Onto month 6 I go.

Pyjamas81 · 17/01/2017 20:15

Hm tough one kiwi, but yes I think it's possible you ov on Sunday. But you dtd the day before so still a chance! I would carry on testing for a couple of days just to be sure.

Ah yes I was a bit like that for my first couple of cycles kaydee - I was just as scared of getting a bfp as I was of getting a bfn, possibly more scared! 8 cycles in, and I know it's what I want. I suppose that's one good thing for it not happening easily for me - I had to get to the stage where I really wanted it. And trust me, I do now!!

CD4 here and back on the temping and will start opks on Friday. Only temping until ov is picked up again - that helped me remain much calmer during TWW last time, at least until that damn first time ever spotting threw a spanner in the works!

passmethewine123 · 18/01/2017 06:53

I just tested, don't know why as I'm only 9dpo just felt a compulsive urge. Not surprised to see a bfn shining back at me. Oh well at least it's satisfied my need to POAS so I should be able to resist temptation until Saturday when I'll be 12dpo.
No particular symptoms, certainly no big ones like nausea etc but I have been having AF cramps for four or five days now which is unusual for me. I have very mild period cramps and always only on the first day of AF, so whatever is going on inside at the moment is definitely unusual for me. There is also no sign of my sore boobs which I normally get religiously about a week before AF, they then subside about 2 days before AF arrives. So far no boob tenderness at all so don't know if the lack of it is a symptom in inself....

Kaydee2017 · 18/01/2017 07:41

Kiwi sorry no advice on OPKs but could you DTD every few days for a week before just in case? OPKs could just then confirm but you've already got DTD in?

So sorry basset Flowers can you have a beer or a wine or s**t loads of chocolate? Clear your head then get back at it & tackle cycle 6 with all you've got!

Pyjamas think you are right, and I have prepared myself for a good few months at this - have weekends away and things planned up until May, so until then I'm taking as relaxed an approach as is poss, if nothing has happened then, I might look into OPKs I think, see if I can work out what's going on!

Fx for you wine!!

Kaydee2017 · 18/01/2017 07:41

Massive bold fail there Blush

Hippychic79 · 18/01/2017 07:57

You're all welcome ref the acupuncture advice - try and shop around ... or you could ask for half hour less needles ... there's only a few fertility boosting pressure points ... your not asking for the whole body ... negotiate with these people and tell them you want weekly sessions but reduced rate ... well that's my advice for what it's worth ... London area might be hard ... everything is expensive there ... good luck my friends xx
And thank you to the ladies who understand about oh not being able to fully dtd all the time ... glad my oh isn't the only one.... all the ladies that get there oh to dtd fully every night .... wow lucky lucky lucky :)))
Well I'm 38 today ... my clock tick tock has just got a bit louder ... come on February:)))
Keep up the PMA ladies ...
We will get there I know it
And thank you to every single one of you for being so lovely and supportive xxx

Kaydee2017 · 18/01/2017 09:07

Happy birthday hippy!! CakeCake

bassetmum · 18/01/2017 09:09

Happy birthday hippy (i think thats what you meant if not sorry). Not ever thought about acupuncture hmm. Off to yoga so hopefully that will help in some way.

Im wondering whether to go to the drs re my cramps as there is definitely more pain on the right. I don't think its my appendix as it only hurts during af.

Kaydee weve all had whopping bold mistakes haha.

florafoxtrot · 18/01/2017 09:41

Happy Birthday Hippy!

Pyjamas81 · 18/01/2017 10:06

Happy birthday hippy! 🎉

Perhaps go for peace of mind basset if it's unusual? I'm rubbish at going to the dr about things though!

Going to get my antibiotics and painkillers for Friday's HSG today. Dreading it, but must be done!

Kaydee2017 · 18/01/2017 15:30

Have they told you what to expect in terms of pain / recovery for Friday pyjamas?

Off for a filling now, urgh! Hate the dentist Sad
