LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

Piehunter that's similar to me; sex can be painful, the thought of every other day is 😱, hence why I'm desperate to track my ovulation!

Doesn't help when my DF warned me that 'obsessing' over OPK & being all over DH will 'put him right off' and he won't fancy me because of it. Cheers Dad!

stepmum88 · 05/01/2017 19:30

Hi Pie Hunter 😊 am currently on the dreaded 2WW.
As am TTC C1 I'm now really sure what to expect for these 2 weeks but to be quite honest, I am DESPERATE to know. Am away next weekend in what should be a drinking weekend. Will testing on the Friday (app says 10 days from now- so should be Sunday), will it make a huge difference? Anxious, trying to be good by eating avocados almonds & all the usuals, as well as just drinking tonic water this eve.

stepmum88 · 05/01/2017 20:31

*NOT really sure (stupid iPhone!!!!)

Blissfulignorance · 05/01/2017 21:17

6dpo and have tender boobs. Must. Not. Symptom. Spot. 🤔

bassetmum · 05/01/2017 21:43

Bliss definitely harder to say than do.

Im currently rather p*ssed off. OH went out tonight and told me he'd be back by 9. Still no sign of him. No dtd will be happening tonight.

Stepmum its difficult to say when to test. It's definitely hard to deal with a bfn than af Ive found.

Yellow what a "delightful" thing for your df to say.

bassetmum · 05/01/2017 21:44

Oops bold fail

Piehunter · 05/01/2017 22:31

Sorry AF got you flora It must be so hard when you think that this month is the month.

yellow I didn't opk last month as I had lots of stuff going on and wasn't really able to have sex regardless of the result! Did manage twice and one of them was day before ov (sore boobs tell me after I've ov'd!) so this month I've decided to have a month off opks and trust that my body knows what it's doing..! Going to try and do every 2-3 days for 10ish days if possible. I enjoyed the lack of POAS (apart from the 5 preg tests they did in hospital!) my experience has NOT been that DH finds my attention off putting so I think you're safe there Wink

stepmum do you know how many days after ovulation Friday will be? Depending on that then the 2 extra days may well make the difference. You could get a negative on Friday but still be pregnant if it's too early to test. I believe the thinking is that you can drink during the TWW but no binge drinking...

bliss do not trust the boobs! They are masters of deception! Mine do different things every month to mess with my head!

basset hopefully if he's home by now you've still got a chance this eve? Wink

JeNeBaguetteRien · 05/01/2017 22:46

Sorry for BFN Lisa and for AF Flora.

I think listen to Stepmum and have a G&T or whatever tickles your fancy. Forget about Dry January Lisa, you will have plenty of time to abstain when you get BFP and beyond!
For the tee totallers whatever "forbidden foods" or activities, indulge when you get AF. Might as well have something to look forward to when the witch comes.

Basset is it really naff to say hope DH comes soon Wink

Anyway I'd better go. After 3 days of solid circle ie low fertility I got static smiley peak fertility today Confused. I don't understand ihow that happened but there's a deed to be done.

bassetmum · 06/01/2017 09:16

Well oh finally rocked in at 10.30 then ate some dinner so I was very nearly asleep by then so nowt happened. Although went to be in a bas mood has meant Ive woken up in a horrendous mood. Work isnt helping as the network is so slow I think it will go backwards

LisaSimpsonsbff · 06/01/2017 13:59

Really sorry about AF, flora. It's so rubbish when you really feel like this time could be the time. Flowers

I managed to stick with dry Jan and actually feeling quite good for it. I've been a bit worried that I might be drinking too much and that it could be affecting TTC, so am hoping a month off will help break habits and make it easier for me to cut down when I do go back to drinking. I have also started an exercise routine (couch to 5k), which I fucking hate but which I'm sure is doing me some sort of good somehow!

Good luck to those of you currently in FW - hope all your efforts pay off!

Just catching up... Sorry to all the AF's arriving Flowers

for me it's 31 days since i stopped taking Cerelle but AF not in sight at all. Been just casually DTD but sure (I think?) nothing is going to happen for a while yet Sad

Eva30 · 07/01/2017 08:19

Hi everyone can I join back here again?
Had a month off last month and tried to relax (I will not be responsible for my actions if someone tells me to do that one more time) - I stopped temping, but to be honest it didn't help, I thought I got a +ve opk but wasn't as dark as previous month and with no temps to confirm ov I was unsure if I did ov or not so just stressful (control freak). I got another BFN this morning. Next month will do temping again. On to cycle 10...
I made a post in long term TTC but that thread moves so quick I can't keep up! If I have a busy couple of days at work I check it and there's about 5 pages to read ha!
I don't feel too bad about it (surprisingly) - I am looking for a positive to cling on to and I guess I'm a bridesmaid in Oct so that helps, and because I can get referred for tests in March it doesn't seem too long away now.

Hi stepmum, yellow, kaydee, smitten, fairy

Lisa sorry for the BFNSad and sorry for AF flora

blissful arghh that "relax" thing Angry🖕🏻

Love the "you know you're TTC when..."Grin

Pyjamas81 · 07/01/2017 09:09

Just catching up after a busy week! Sorry to hear about AF and BFN 😞

And how annoying basset! Where are you in your FW?

Welcome back Eva! I was exactly the same in my relaxed month - I didn't like not knowing when things were happening. I think I've found my happy medium this month by only temping until ovulation is picked up as I'm a lot less stressed. I'm on 8dpo - not a single symptom. Don't think this is our month as we missed half of FW due to ovulation nearly a week early! We dtd on +ve OPK day and two days after, so hopefully still a chance.

Will be booking my HSG as soon as AF turns up.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 07/01/2017 09:15

Well done Lisa on the Dry January and the couch to 5k. Running (short distances in my case) is really good for clearing my head!
Welcome back Eva. Do what makes you feel less stressed. One person's "obsessing" is another's "feeling in possession of the facts".
Redpony lots of stories on here of cycles taking a while to normalise after stopping hormonal contraception. Good luck.

Kaydee2017 · 07/01/2017 09:23

Redpony I feel you with awaiting AF, I am CD27, although coming off combined pill, so did have a withdrawal bleed, but still anxious for my first 'proper' AF! Something I never thought I'd say once we'd decided to TTC!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 07/01/2017 10:30

Welcome back eva - so sorry about BFN. I'm thinking of having a 'relaxed' month this cycle, no OPKs (I've never temped anyway), and just trying to dtd every other day through the cycle rather than focusing on FW. DH is currently all for this plan (I think it scared him a bit when I cried at my BFN the other day - I think at the moment he'd agree to anything!), but then I suspect he might not be so up for it when he's properly back at work! (He's a teacher and the kids are back on Monday)

Sorry to those currently in post-pill limbo - fx your cycles regularise soon.

Am feeling proud of myself because I managed my run (well, my walking with few brief bursts of running!) this morning despite beginnings of a cold and AF being even more of a bitch than usual this month - heavy and v cramps.

Eva30 · 07/01/2017 13:27

Thanks pjs JeNe and Lisa

JeNe that is so true, everyone has their own way of dealing with this process, I definitely fall in to the need to know everything bracket!

pjs yeah I'm the same, I thought it'd do me the world of good to have a break but in reality I couldn't switch off and still thought about it every day! Yeah I'm going to do the same, temp til ov. My temps during the tww have never shown me anything and make me get my hope up, until temps drop the day before AF! What is a HSG? Where they check the tubes?

redpony and kaydee it can be so frustrating the first few cycles post pill, hope it sorts itself out soon.

lisa it's worth a try. I know after a week of every other day dtd we'd give up and miss fw - my attempts have to be more fw focused haha! That really made me laugh about your run, I'm the same in my quest to lose weight. I was on a treadmill yesterday and then a real fitness fanatic (unlike me, a pretend one) got on the treadmill next to me and just made me feel totally inadequate haha. I could barely breathe and she wasn't even breaking a sweat!!Grin

Pyjamas81 · 07/01/2017 13:57

Yep, that's the one Eva - they'll check my tubes then we'll go from there. If they're fine we can carry on naturally for a month or two, or we can go straight to IVF if we want. My low AMH means my clock is ticking, so we're trying not to waste any time, especially as we two little ones in an ideal world! I'm making the HSG appt as soon as AF arrives this month.

Well done on run Lisa!

Starfish33 · 07/01/2017 14:15

Hi folks!

Is it OK if I join you? I'm a Mumsnet newbie, but have spent a week or so lurking and feel that this could be the thread for me!

After a bit of advice to begin with... I'm 33 and my husband and I are keen and excited to begin TTC. :-) I took the final pill (Microgynon 30) in the packet last month on December 7th, had my withdrawal bleed from December 9th-13th, and my first 'proper' AF arrived late last night (6th January). I am keen to be aware of what it is going on with my cycle, so would yesterday be called Day 1 (even though it was late in the evening when it started)? Or would today be Day 1?

Looking forward to having the opportunity to chat to some peeps - it's early days but I'm already finding it difficult not to think about getting pregnant all the time!

Happy Saturday and baby dust to you all!

kiwi17 · 07/01/2017 14:17

Sorry to her everyone's woes :( I'm on CD6 of C4 and feeling optimistic! Might try the every other day DTD but I'm really glad I'm not the only one who finds it can be hard/painful that makes me feel less alone! Good luck to everyone waiting :) I haven't done the temping thing yet and dabbled with OPK last month but they never came out positive so I resent paying for more! Will see how this month goes before buying a thermometer hahaHmm

Eva30 · 07/01/2017 14:17

pjs you are so on the ball! Is this for privately funded IVF or ane you going through NHS? Fx it'll happen for you before that

Pyjamas81 · 07/01/2017 14:33

Will be privately funded Eva - part of me thinks I've paid enough taxes, just go through NHS and save a lot of money, but then I like the ease and less waiting if we go privately. This is all stressful enough without adding waiting ages for appointments when that damn ticking clock is getting louder by the second!

Good to hear your optimistic kiwi 😊** fx for you! I find frequent dtd challenging as well - not because it hurts, but because I just don't want to that often!

Welcome starfish! I would count yesterday as CD1. Know what you mean about thinking about it all the time! I'm on cycle 7 and it's still never far from my mind.

bassetmum · 07/01/2017 15:04

Hi newbies. Starfish cd1 is the first day of proper flow af if that makes sense.

Yup pjs bloody annoying. I think Thursday was ovulation day judging by the pinching pain and bloating (anyone would have thought I was already pregnant it was that big) so I think I am on 2dpo. Not convinced it will be our month. Only managed dtd v early hours of Sunday morning and monday night. Had the positive opk on monday. To be honest I am not that fussed if we dont catch this month as my edd would be the 29th September and we already have one nephew on the 22nd a niece on 26th and another nephew on the 2nd October.

Sound like you made the right decision to go private pjs. Especially with the nhs is the hole its in at the moment.

Eva nice to see you back.

SmittenPears · 07/01/2017 17:36

None of you need to "relax"! We are all fine, "obsession"/possession of the facts and all.

The things some people will say.... Hmm

Piehunter · 08/01/2017 15:05

I've just read that there's a thread on here where 40 women got pregnant in less than 2 months?! Is this the buses that people mention? Cannot believe that so many get pregnant so quickly! Confused

Waiting for conceive plus lube to arrive, DH having an op so need to make this FW count as we may miss next one. Hoping distraction of a house move simultaneously will divert all attention away from ttc and I'll magically get pregnant while not overthinking it Wink cos that's all it takes, right?!
