LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Hi everyone. :)

32
TTC #1
Cycle 1
CD 7

Glad to have found these boards -- I'm trying not to drive the people in my life crazy!

Yellow, I've always had very long cycles (then ten-ish years on the pill which I stopped in September). I think I've ovulated on cd 20 the last couple of months.

FX for everyone!

florafoxtrot · 04/01/2017 15:11

Welcome newbies! Long cycles must be frustrating, are they long but regular?
I'm CD28, 15dpo and terrified to test, however we are also on holiday with the inlaws and not doing much so finding it difficult to distract myself too. 😕

LisaSimpsonsbff · 04/01/2017 15:50

Hello to all the newbies!

Just did a test - BFN, predictably enough. Feeling pretty down now (first cycle where I've cried) but glad that I can just write off this cycle now rather than let my hopes get up. Hope you have better luck when you test, flora - fx for you!

OP posts:
Pyjamas81 · 04/01/2017 16:11

Oh no Lisa - sorry about bfn 🙁

What dpo are you on? Take care of yourself today xx

LisaSimpsonsbff · 04/01/2017 16:21

12dpo, AF due either tomorrow or Friday - so I know there is still a slim chance, but I'd rather just treat it as a firm no. It's sort of why I tested; I couldn't stop the 'maybe...' thoughts, and it just feels like it's more upsetting the more I let my hopes get up. Currently thinking we might have a month off the OPKs this cycle, but we'll see.

OP posts:
Pyjamas81 · 04/01/2017 16:35

Definitely still a chance, but can understand why you're preparing yourself.

I had a month off opks and it did help, but I didn't like the uncertainty of not knowing. It helps a lot of people though! I just don't temp in he TWW now and it's doing me the world of good. Temping first thing means that ttc is always my first thought, so I'm having a welcome break from that!

SmittenPears · 04/01/2017 16:44

flora, I'm not totally sure, as I'm chalking some irregularity now up to coming off BCP. Before I went on the pill I knew it was long but I wasn't counting the days carefully.

Sorry about the bfn. Flowers

florafoxtrot · 04/01/2017 16:52

Sorry for the BFN Lisa. This whole process is so bloody frustrating and shite at times. I hope you're doing ok.

florafoxtrot · 04/01/2017 16:54

Ah pears, it might take a bit of time to get back to normal after being on the pill. I wasn't on anything hormonal so the other ladies will share their stories! Hope that it's regular at the least so that you can do a but of tracking and hopefully you don't have a long wait either x

Kaydee2017 · 04/01/2017 18:26

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining in? I've been reading along for a few days Grin

I'm just coming off the OCP at 27, so CD24 of cycle 1, and preparing for a few months of getting everything back to something like, so no temping etc for the time being, and just buckling in for the ride!

Wishing you all luck Smile

bassetmum · 04/01/2017 18:45

Luckily pears have cycles went back to normal relatively quickly after ten years of the pill. Ive had 28,26,27,29 day cycles. Currently on cycle 5 day 13. Had another negative opk today. I don't temp as currently my sleep is too erratic.

I am hoping to dtd again tonight hopefully the oh will be up for it. We have struggled sometimes with him finishing when I have instigated the dtd.

Sorry about the bfn lisa as the old phrase goes your not out till af shows.

Are you going to test flora?

Welcome to the newbies.

Glad you've got a better headspace pjs.

stepmum88 · 04/01/2017 18:54

The bright side of BFN (if there is one) is the ability to chill out with a G&T, to dampen the disappointment........ 😕

florafoxtrot · 04/01/2017 20:07

I'm going to test on Friday Basset, we've a night out so I'll need to know whether to abstain or drown my sorrows and I'll be 17dpo by that point, CD30 so i would expect the result to be right...
Enjoy the G&T stepmom, you're definitely allowed a treat to dull the disappointment, have some chocolate too!
Welcome Kaydee
x

LisaSimpsonsbff · 04/01/2017 20:30

I'm fine thanks, flora - had a bit of a wobble earlier, but nothing that a cuddle with DH and the cat couldn't sort out. However, I am now really tempted to break my dry January pledge...

OP posts:
Kirstyinnorway · 04/01/2017 20:48

Sorry for the BFN lisa, screw dry January, get that Wine on order.

Blissfulignorance · 04/01/2017 21:23

Sorry for the bfn Lisa 🍫🍰🍷

Fx for those testing this week.

Nothing to report here, spent the day with pregnant hormonal friend. I need to 'relax' apparently. 🖕🏻

stepmum88 · 04/01/2017 21:40

Just to make you laugh..... you know you're trying to conceive when.....

You high five your DH for dtd every day in 2017......

Anyone for light heart humour? 😃

florafoxtrot · 04/01/2017 21:41

Blissful - my brother in law said that to me on the 27th. As I said to hubby it's like telling someone with depression to cheer up. Asshat x

SmittenPears · 04/01/2017 22:17

stepmum88 tee hee

Pyjamas81 · 04/01/2017 22:29

You know you're ttc when the first thing you do when someone asks if you're free is check your Fertility Friend calendar Smile

bassetmum · 05/01/2017 09:14

Haha those jokes made me chuckle this morning. Think I have ovulated this morning. Driving to work and felt a stabbing pinch like pain on the right side. Hopefully the oh will up for tonight as last night was an epic fail. Sodding football got in the way.

I can't believe people still say the you need to relax statement. Its like durh I know that.

Piehunter · 05/01/2017 09:44

Gahhhh bliss how frustrating 😤 Also very easy to say for anyone who got pregnant fast/it's all behind them.

Lisa sorry you're out Flowers do treat yourself somehow!

flora fx...!

pears welcome, and stepmum don't think I've sid hi before? Sorry!

My mum conceived first time both times and so thinks tracking cycles is "obsessing"... I've opk'd from the start as sex is painful and I can't bear every other day through the whole month.. I've been able to cope with more sex as it has a "purpose" to help make the pain worth it but that'll start wearing thin the longer it takes without happening!

FairyAnn · 05/01/2017 10:05

Hi all, hope you all had a nice Xmas

AF came early this month so bit meh today. I had my cycle wrong: I'm 23 days, not 28

florafoxtrot · 05/01/2017 10:38

That's me started spotting this morning. Think I'm out. We are pretty gutted as definitely thought this was it - and I've got a horrendous cold so just feeling extremely sorry for myself.

Kaydee2017 · 05/01/2017 10:55

Sorry for those AF got Sad

Patiently awaiting mine, but as first cycle off pill, not sure whether I'm imagining the rumblings of it on its way or not Confused
