Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

AF arrived yesterday after 42 day confusing cycle, I spent a few days in hospital last week after an ovarian cyst burst and caused much pain and vomiting... Scan showed lots of free fluid around my uterus, the fluid (probably blood given the bleeding I had for 6 days!) irritated my abdominal organs causing the puking. I'm still very weak, quite nauseas and in pain, last day of antibiotics today though, have spent 3 of the last 4 weeks on antibiotics of one form or another. Hoping maybe now cyst has burst it might improve our chances, it was seemingly quite sizeable!

Hoping 2017 is the year for the rest of us waiting for BFP's Smile

Coi123 · 27/12/2016 11:19

Piehunter you poor thing that sounds horrible. Hope you are feeling better soon xx

Kirstyinnorway · 27/12/2016 12:22

Oh gosh pie how awful. Hope you are on the mend soon! Flowers

MouseLove · 27/12/2016 13:14

Oh no pie!! @Sk1pper had that happen a few months back. It sounds very painful.

Nothing to report here. CD30.

Blissfulignorance · 27/12/2016 15:02

Hello all, hope everyone enjoyed xmas Xmas Smile

I'm doing better thanks Kirsty on cd 11 now. I have been naughty and I stopped taking my vitamin for a few weeks out of rage, which I now feel guilty about.

Pie all of that sounds awful, I really hope that it all settles for you now and that the BFP is just round the corner.

As usual I'm working 3 night in a row when I'm supposed to ovulate. December thankfully is nearly over so I shouldn't have to work that many nights in the new year which should make 'getting in the mood' a little easier and being logistically able to dtd too!

Kirstyinnorway · 27/12/2016 16:53

So glad you're doing better bliss. FX for less busy shift coming into the new year Smile

basset, how are you doing with your weird cycle this month?

LisaSimpsonsbff · 27/12/2016 17:33

So sorry you've been so unwell, pie - hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Glad to hear all is well, kirsty. So exciting!

Sorry about the bad shift timing, bliss. You've just reminded me that I haven't taken any vitamins since Dec 23rd, which isn't great - going to go take today's now!

Hi everyone - hope you all had a great Christmas!

That sounds horrid pie - hope you have a speedy recovery.

Have eaten and drunk so much over the last few days! The gym will be painful when we're back... Fly back tomorrow night - always sad to leave my family, it's always painful saying goodbye to my mum, especially my mum as she always seems older when I see her and I feel like I'm missing out on valuable time Sad

CD8 for me today and have started on the opks - who knows what my cycle will be like due to all the jet lag and long haul flying!

ChocoChou · 27/12/2016 19:24

Hi everyone I'd like to join your thread please Grin

Age 34 DH 32
Cycle #5
CD 13
AF due 6th Jan I think

bassetmum · 27/12/2016 21:20

Hi choco welcome!

I'm okay. Struggling at the moment with real problems with sleeping, dizziness and heart palpitations. But I think the cause of all of it is my lack of sleep. Although I do feel really bad for my puppy though she's feeling so sorry for herself now she's in season. She doesn't really understand shes only ever going to have two of these.

That sounds awful pie. I hope you are feeling better.

Fx we've all got some new year baby dust floating around.

Glad you aren't feeling too bad kirsty. Cd 5 here.

Piehunter · 27/12/2016 23:12

Thanks all, to top it off we were rear-ended at high speed on Christmas Eve while on side of road with shredded tyre on way back from my parents and I have whiplash and a very painful lower back/pelvis... Envy Dr's tomorrow to get that checked out.. My flipping luck at the moment is seriously ridiculous Grin

kirsty glad all is OK with you!

blissful great that work should start to allow for more downtime for you soon, totally get the stopping vits out of rage...!

pj's can't imagine how difficult it is leaving your mum, hope you have some good distraction when you get home

welcome choco

basset our puppy had her first season a couple of months ago... Much trembling and panting, we gave her rescue remedy to help as she was uncomfortable/anxious.

Kirstyinnorway · 28/12/2016 06:58

Oh pjs I really feel your pain with your mum, you poor thing. It's trying to balance the love of visiting with the sadness of leaving again, isn't it?

hello choco!

All that sounds pretty horrid basset, is the lack of sleep related to work worries? Sorry if this is far too simplistic a suggestion, but I bought a valerian tea at Holland and Barrett. I have some anxiety issues and it really knocks me out and stops the negative thoughts running round my head.

More bad luck for you pie Sad You must be pretty much done with 2016. Sorry you're sore, hope the dr can help you out today. Here's to a fresh sheet of 2017 and BFPs all round.

Happy03 · 28/12/2016 08:17

Hi all I'm new to this so not sure on short hand for things :p. Me and my partner are ttc, we're both 22. I'm registered disabled with a rare genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and related conditions. ATM I have an indwelling catheter in which makes DTD hard.

We've just started trying I came off my mini pill around the 8th of November no bleed yet but negative tests? Bizzare but got me in a state. Sorry if tmi, were basing ovulation on how my cervical fluid is.

I know some people can feel their own cervix and work it out that way but not sure how.

Sorry for waffling guys

MouseLove · 28/12/2016 09:13

Hi happy, welcome. Please don't get yourself into a tizz. The first 6 months off the pill can give you weird cycles. Especially the first!! I had a 50 day cycle and then a 23 day cycle. You should wait a few AF cycles before getting too obsessed with testing or you'll drive yourself mad lol. X

LisaSimpsonsbff · 28/12/2016 10:09

Hi and welcome, choco and happy!

Sounds like you're having a horrible time of it basset - do you often have trouble sleeping? I used to get horrible insomnia - I haven't had a bad batch for a few years now but I remember how generally ill it makes you feel. Hope you get some decent sleep soon!

Oh pie, you really have had some terrible luck. Let's hope karma brings you something good soon!

ns1348 · 28/12/2016 11:59

Hi everyone, can't remember if I've introduced myself here, so here are stats:

30 (though 31 in a few days!)
Cycle 2
CD 23
Not sure when AF due, between 31st and 2nd I think, testing NYD if no show

Happy, good to see another disabled person here: I have cerebral palsy, and several friends with EDS, so I know a bit about it. Do you use a wheelchair? I do. I've noticed the parents with disabilities threads on here aren't particularly active, as trying to think about some practicalities in hope.

Piehunter, I'm really sorry to hear about that crash, sounds nasty.

Basset, sorry to hear about insomnia. I have it on and off too. Have you tried mindfulness at all? I find mindfulness of breathing or a body scan help me to go to sleep. Are your palpitations settling after a bit? If they're lasting for hours I'd get them looked into if I were you, as that's what I was advised when I had a period of nausea/sickness and palpitations last year. In my case all was thankfully medically fine and I'm fairly sure it was stress. Makes me seriously doubt my nausea now could be an early symptom as I know it could be that again, but still hoping a little!

Pyjamas81 · 28/12/2016 13:10

Thanks pjs and pie - thankfully our flight isn't until tonight, so get to spend most of today with them. This is easily the worst day of the year though - am always a wreck at the airport. At least I have dh with me though - was always so much harder before I met him and I had to come back on my own Sad

Got a flashing smiley face on OPK today but not too much chance (or inclination) to dtd today. Hopefully the static smiley holds off for a day or two!

Piehunter · 28/12/2016 13:21

Happy and ns welcome! I'm another with chronic autoimmune stuff, wheelchair user/crutches sometimes for v short distances. Have EDS symptoms but no official diagnosis and not chasing it as have enough without it and it's not like there's a cure!

happy are they hoping you'll self cath in time? I had an indwelling for 3 weeks, up til 2 weeks ago, did have sex once but spent most of the time with horrible pain from uti so was v difficult and also felt like least sexual person ever... I'm self cathing now and feel much more myself.

Pyjamas81 · 29/12/2016 15:00

Back in Blighty now and missing my mum!! Really hate having my family so far awaySad We're always total wrecks when we say goodbye - so painful.

It was an overnight flight so just did a cheapie OPK and it was super positive! Did the digital test just to see, and lo and behold it's a static smiley. It seems too early in my cycle though - could the flight have affected it so quickly? Now am annoyed that we missed dtd over the last couple of days thinking we had more time! Am only on Cd10!

bassetmum · 29/12/2016 15:25

How strange pjs. Could you be having an early surge that isn't going to amount to anything. Although you have just reminded me I need to start my opks cd7 today.

On the sleeping front I have bought some kalms to take. Last night I crocheted and then read my book before bed and it was the first time in a week I fell asleep before 1am. Still woke up a few times though. My oh keeps letting me sleep in and hes been dealing with the puppy (who is as miserable as sin and feeling like s**t bless her). Still absolutely exhausted though.

Pyjamas81 · 29/12/2016 16:11

Could be basset - we'll dtd anyway just in case. Just what we're both in the mood for after spending the night on a plane :-/ And DH's dad is staying over tonight - gah.
Have you tried melatonin for the sleeping? It's one of the recommended supplements for improving egg quality but it's usually used as a natural sleep aid - I'm a terrible sleeper and I've noticed an improvement since I started taking it!

Lozalooloo3 · 29/12/2016 16:20

Pyjamas- someone else recommended melatonin to me to aid sleep, but then I did some research online and decided against it.
I've attached a picture of what I found :/

I may re think though and ask my GP.

Pyjamas81 · 29/12/2016 16:57

Interesting loza - thanks for the link! I see it also may affect ovulation - which may explain why it seems like I'm ovulating earlier this month. Shall stop taking it!

Eva30 · 29/12/2016 19:12

Hey everyone, hope you've all had a great xmas.
pjs I know the feeling, my parents are abroad too, I haven't seen them for 18months now, they are coming back in July. I love visiting them but hate leaving, last time I burst in to tears when the plane was taking off and felt like a total wally, I couldn't control myself haha! Sounds like you had a really lovely break though. Oh yeah the melatonin looks like it has pros and consConfused
pie gosh I'm so sorry for all your bad luck over the past month - crash sounds awful. Hope 2017 has much better things in store for you
basset the insomnia sounds terrible, are you finding it difficult to "switch off"?
Welcome to the new ladies.
Is anyone waiting to test?

I'm on cd16 and had +ve opk and EWCM today. Remember I mentioned about applying for that job? I've got an interview the week after next. I'm really in two minds now(if I got it would I take it). My notice period is 3 months, anything could happen in that time? It's only very slightly more money so I'm not in it for that, but was more for the change of role, hopefully one I'd enjoy more.
