LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

haha, I think if this were a bus, before I was like the old lady at the front making eye contact with everyone and smiling, whereas now I'm like the teenager at the back with earphones in, raising my head every now and again to see where we are! I can't get off the bus though because I'm still urging us all to get to the destinationXmas Grin

Definitely a good way to look at it - 2017 just around the corner and that is going to bring lots of BFPs.

Yeah I'm good thanks. Cd7 now and the festivities are providing a welcome distraction this month.

Hello Flossie and everyone else.

I've decided it's time I stopped lurking on these threads and started joining in.

Age: 28
cycle #3
CD 1

bassetmum · 20/12/2016 18:56

Hi flossie. The main acronyms we use are

Dtd - doing the deed aka sex
Fw - fertile week
Bfp/bfn - big fat positive/negative
DH/DP - darling husband/partne
OH - other half

Cant think of any more at the moment

HellsBellsK · 20/12/2016 19:14

Welcome NiceCuppa and flossie hopefully you won't be around here for to long.

The acronyms take awhile alright - I'm still getting use to them.
basset has them covered above.

Only other ones I can think of are -
AF - Aunt flow - period.
POAS - pee on a stick.
CB - Clear blue test.

florafoxtrot · 20/12/2016 19:25

Welcome Flossie and NiceCuppa.

Fingers crossed for you HellsBells, the TWW is complete torture - almost glad when AF arrives so that it's actually over!

PJs - I've been thinking the same about temping during the TWW, it doesn't really tell you anything until the last minute - and by that time I usually know she's on her way by the amount of angry faces I've sent to DH over the course of a day...
Thinking I'm imminently ovulating, loads of cramps!

Kirstyinnorway · 20/12/2016 20:35

Hey girls, doing my usual marathon catch up!

lisa well done on diligent DTD-ing, it will give you best possible chance! (Have you got pre-seed for the last couple of days?! Blush ) I'm good thanks, I feel tired but with my folks here it's possible it's just that/them! No other symptoms Confused We did tell my parents, they were delighted and have so far been quite good about not getting too excited like I asked them... But Bean's chances are improving day-by-day so I've told them they can get more excited on January 1st (6 weeks).

So sorry about AF JeNe and pjs, I was really gunning for you both this month. Time to down a bottle of wine and have some extra cuddles from your respective DHs Flowers You're right, 2017 is a clean sheet, and I think it will be your year.

flora we did a marathon DTD streak the month I got my BFP but it absolutely knackered us out and to be honest, it just takes one little swimmer (and apparently "old" sperm is better anyway) so don't push yourselves too far - you're doing good with every other day!

hells I'm keeping EVERYTHING crossed for you!

Hello Dixie, flossie and cuppa!

How are you doing basset?

flossie80 · 20/12/2016 20:46

Thanks bassettmum and hellsbellsk!

bassetmum · 20/12/2016 20:54

Wow kirsty. When i tell my mum she'll be over excited. Urm Ive taken some paracetamol for the headache and I'm currently trying to finish my friends crocheted blanket as her little boy made an early appearance. Still convinced I'm going to wake up to af tomorrow a day early so we will see.

Blissfulignorance · 20/12/2016 20:59

Checking in after my mammoth strop.

Af still here dragged her bastard heels.

So sorry she got you pjs and jene absolutely bummed for you both.

Lovely to see you again Eva!
I'm sure you have a sticky bean Kirsty I'm still so pleased for you.

Pj your pictures made me smile, my thoughts exactly.

I've really had a shitty weekend, desperately emotionally challenging weekend at work and of course suffering in silence with the TTC stress. It's been so very crap but I'm finally starting to feel better. I can honestly say that TTC is one of the worst things I've ever endured. I hate it!!
In other news I ordered preseed which arrived today. Fx it helps? Last resort before I give up.

Pyjamas81 · 20/12/2016 22:00

Good to have you back blissful - TTC really is shit. I won't lie - a not insignificant part of me will just be glad there won't be yet another sodding month of TTC ahead of me. Sorry, I'm grumpy today - insert pic attached here -->

DH and I use preseed- obviously it's done sweet FA in the baby department, but it sure does help things along when you'd literally be doing anything other than scheduled dtd.

I've just ordered all the supplements from 'it starts with the egg' - probably a load of fertility hocus pocus but have nothing (apart from about £100) to lose.

Aw bless your parents Kirsty! My mum will literally lose her mind when I get a BFP hahaha

Still got my fx for you basset and hells and welcome to the newbies!

First time TTC - thread five!
florafoxtrot · 21/12/2016 09:30

What supplements did you order PJs? We are both taking Proxeed which is pretty eye-wateringly expensive but guess if it makes all the difference it will be worth it. Apparently you need to take it for 3 months before you see a difference though?! Hmm
DTD last night after my solid smiley yesterday and hoping to go for it tonight and tomorrow night too. Although... TMI but there was quite a significant spillage last night so hoping that there are some guys in the right bloody place! Temp was a bit higher this morning too... so the TWW awaits...bloody excellent.
Hope you're ok bliss. TTC really is harrowing at times, the hormones etc. coupled with the disappointment - far too much time spent sobbing and crying! We will all get there in the end though - and it'll be worth it all

bassetmum · 21/12/2016 11:12

Ladies i caved it was a bfn Sad. Af due tomorrow if I'm having a 28 day cycle. I knew I should have just waited but the last two days I have been feeling really lightheaded and nauseous and without TMI my bowel movements have been really strange. Starting to think that maybe Ive got a mild tummy upset instead.

Ttc really is the most mind boggling experience.

Pyjamas81 · 21/12/2016 12:08

Sorry about bfn basset Sad It does feel rubbish. It did relieve some pressure for me though. It feels like you and I had the exact same symptoms! Without TMI, I had v strange tummy issues as well Confused

Hope one of the swimmers stayed behind flora! I'm going to attempt using my moon cup after dtd this month - can't hurt.

Right, supplements - I ordered the ones relevant for those with low ovarian reserve (like me):

CoQ10 (ubiquinol)
Fertinatal (a DHEA supplement)
Melatonin (to boost egg quality)
R-alpha-lipoic acid (antioxidant)
A pill organiser so I don't have to carry all these bottles around!

These will be taken in addition to my pre-conception multi-vitamin and evening primrose oil (helps CM).

The first two (ubiquinol and DHEA) are recommended by our fertility clinic where they advise patients to start taking them three months before ivf. May as well get a head start!

florafoxtrot · 21/12/2016 13:17

Wow that's a lot of supplements! But hopefully they make the difference. Definitely think that getting a head start is good plan - particularly when they can have long referral times etc.
Hope that AF isn't being too much of a cow

Pyjamas81 · 21/12/2016 13:31

Yep - that's what I thought flora! Might not do anything, but may do something so worth a shot. Will double-check with consultant though just to be on the safe side.

AF cramps have gone and mine only lasts two days so just have today to get through!

HellsBellsK · 21/12/2016 18:11

So sorry Basset Flowers I hope your tummy feels better soon.

Thats a good list of supplements pj I have looked at CoQ10 and might try that next.
Doctor told me to take -
Vit D
Fish Oils
Folic acid
But may up that.

AF still hasn't arrived. I know I could take a test now but just hate seeing BFN. Also last time I was a few days late it was a chemical pregnancy. My cycles are usually 26 days this is day 27. When I had the Chemical pregnancy I got to CD29 so I'm debating with myself if I should test in the morning or wait till Friday.

bluebell17 · 21/12/2016 19:42

Hells bells I admire your patience with not testing!!

bassetmum · 21/12/2016 19:52

Wow hells impressive with holding off. I really was expecting af today with the symptoms Ive been having. Ive currently gone upstairs to crochet and watch the gilmore girls (have to go upstairs as puppy tries to eat my wool) and I am feeling rather sick Confused

LisaSimpsonsbff · 21/12/2016 19:55

Really sorry about the bfn, basset - how are you doing today? I'm also in awe of your patience, hells - fx for when you do decide to test!

FairyAnn · 22/12/2016 09:50

Sorry, posted in Thread Four before I realised there was a limit :)

Hi all, I have been off the pill for two months now, and am on my 2nd cycle.

Today I've got a really painful ache in the lower left of my stomach, below the belly button, almost on top of my hip.

Is this something to be concerned about, or is it just a muscle pull?

florafoxtrot · 22/12/2016 10:14

Do you know where you are in your cycle Fairy?

I'm just poised to enter the TWW for sure. Temps up again this morning. Really hoping all the festivities provide a good distraction from SS - I was borderline crazy last month!

FairyAnn · 22/12/2016 10:14

According to Ovia, I'm just about the enter my fertile days, with AF due Jan 8th

florafoxtrot · 22/12/2016 10:36

The cramps could be ovulation then. Are you temping or using OPKs? We are nearly cycle buddies, my AF is due on the 6th and I'd similar cramps earlier in the week - everyone is different though.

FairyAnn · 22/12/2016 10:39

Sorry, I don't know what OPK means :)

Could just be normal cramps I guess. I haven't been off the pill for about 8 years so can't remember what's it's like when you're off

Cycle Buddies! I like that :)
