We had a June wedding, it was the best day!!!! Not a cloud in the sky!!

I wore a white strapless gown with diamante beading across the top of the bodice and all the way down the back onto the train!

My theme was royal purple and silver.

My bouquet was arum lilies and delphineum.

I will add a pic of my cake to my personal profile if I have the time!

ammylovesolivia · 16/02/2007 16:13

oooooooh yes that would be lovely.

We are having a white choclate cake with gold roses cascading down one side. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Sounds lovely but I eat like a toddler so will be slightly ruined by time I get my hands on it.

I haven't got the time to learn how to do it yet, will let you know when I have

BigHotMama · 16/02/2007 16:25

Ahhhh it was the best day of my life...my theme was hot pink and silver...we had a gospel singer sing Amazing Grace in the church...Elvis sang for us on the evening...my dress was beautiful Maggie Sottero design in diamond white with lots of suttle blingy bits, with a full length veil and tiara, my hair up in curls on top.. and my white chocolate wedding cake was amazing with pink orchids...my flowers were white roses with a diamonte in each flower head and silver bear grass hanging with little diamonte theme...and to top it off we went to Cuba for a 3 week honeymoon....Oh I'd do it all again tomorrow Bliss......

Enjoy every moment as the day will whizz by x

ammylovesolivia · 16/02/2007 16:44

oooooh bighotmama, that sounds gorgeous!!

Thats the prob with us having a winter wedding I think- it will get dark early and make the day feel short.

BigHotMama · 16/02/2007 16:47

Why dont you have an early ceremony then make it seem longer? We had ours at 1pm.
My dads speech was hilarious and later on he caught me having a crafty fag outside in my dress sitting on a bench lol

ammylovesolivia · 16/02/2007 16:51

our service is at 1, thats the earliest the church does weddings.

Suppose a wedding breakfast at dusk will be quite nice.

Brownsover hall is a large victorian gothic mansion so will hopefully feel quite atmospheric.

Went there for a valentines meal and it was lovely.

at your dad catching you smoking. he he!

absolutely fantastic day, we were on a serious budget and called in every favour we could and it was great

theme was black and white with hot pink at reception (in village hall) £200 wedding dress (so couldn't tell) and black bridesmaids dresses, uncle did flowers and mum made the cake - honeymoon was a week in friends holiday home in cornwall - if did it again would do the same thing as had all family (massive family 120 people including 25 kids - and a bouncy castle to keep them entertained, also didn't bother with table favours just colouring books and games to keep children quiet)

enjoy every minute - it really does pass all to quickly

ImaWurzel · 16/02/2007 18:57

We got married 15th july 2006. absolutely boiling hot day. Guests got tad burnt having photos done.
My dress was a strapless number by Maggie Sotterro,It had swarskovski(sp)crystals fanning out on one side amd round the back and joining together to go down to my train.
There's a glimpse on my profile, Theme was ivory lilac and bit of gold, sounds odd but was lovely. Bridesmaids wore lilac dresses by alfred angelo. pictures at theperfectportraitco.com.
I haven't managed to master the link art yet.
Click on all weddings (i think, will have to check) and scroll to Deane & Jon (should be Deanne & Jon).

Married on a beautiful crisp cold January day in a stately home. The idea was to have an event where we could get married, eat, party and stay the night all in one place, so people didn't have to drive from church to meal to reception to hotel etc..

Got married in a two piece 'dress' - red and gold bodice with a cream fitted skirt. Bridesmaids wore deep red and the flowers were a mix of roses and lilies.

At the wedding breakfast we did the speeches before the meal (got the out of the way so everyone could relax) and had a magician who went from table to table during the meal doing close up magic (sounds barmy but it was the most amazing entertainment - guests were literally following him round from table to table in between courses!)

After the meal we had a disco and buffet.

It was the most perfect, relaxing, chilled-out fun day and I'd do it all again tomorrow if I could

ammylovesolivia · 16/02/2007 19:38

This is a lovely thread- it's fantastic for me to hear people that have been there and done it so happy about how their day went.

Imawurzel, your photos are gorgeous

Got married last May. It rained heavily all day but magically stopped as soon as my car pulled up to the church. Promptly threw it down again from the reception onwards. We still had a fabulous time!!!

Got married in May 05 - it rained pretty much all day - after being glorious all week (the men putting up marquee got sunburned!!) Anyway - the day before and the morning of was a nightmare!! - leaking tent, had to change travel plans and get extra marquee cos of rain. BUT - it did stop for a few mins for me to get into the church and it was only windy when we made our way to the reception (on the back of a tractor!!!! - DH's idea!) The rest of the day was spectacular despite the rain!

We were married in the small seaside town where we live - goreous church ( which we still go to most every sunday!) - flowers were my fav bit - the florist was a family friend and went totally OTT - all in white and green - but it was amazing. Then back to hand painted marquees in a field next to our house. The theme was seaside perriwinkle blue and white, shells etc. We had three marquees (due to weather - had hoped to have drinks outside - but oh well!!) all linked together - one for bar /drinks, one for dinner and one for dance.

My dress was my dream dress - I drew what I wanted and then found amazing lady to make it and embelish it.

We also had a creche - big recommendation if lots of little kids coming (we had 25!) it was a huge success and not v expensive - they brought toys and games and then babysat later so mums and dads could have a dance!

DH and I were last to leave at 3am!! drove ourselve to hotel as had not managed to have more than one glass of champers all day ( just talking all the time!)

Ahhh - wish I could do it all again!

cazzybabs · 18/02/2007 13:21

I want to do it all over again!

we got married in April last year in Birmingham and then had the reception at the Botantical gardens. I wore Madrid by Alan Hannah which had stargazer lillies painted on it! WE had a cake painted to match (yum yum - I still dream about how yummy it was we had a chocolate brownie tier, a fruit cake tier, a lemon cake tier and carrot cake tier). I had lilles for my bouquet and everyone else had roses. The Bms wore black. And we had a cool jazz band and a casino. Well I had a fab time anyway!

cazzybabs · 18/02/2007 13:23

infact my photos are here

And Ithink they have just shot one at your venue!

seaside72 · 18/02/2007 13:24
