Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a <strong>Kitten</strong> = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like <strong>something</strong> = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a <strong>hooya</strong> = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a <strong>Lemon</strong> = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Kwick I'm on a weightloss thread over in Weight loss chat. It's a lose a stone by Easter (was started a while ago) but people on it are all different weights trying to lose. People post what they're eating all day and what exercise they've done.

Perhaps starting simple like that, just comparing what your average day looks like compared with people who have started the process already would help see where you can make changes?

Apologies if this is insensitive, but is your weight related to any known health issues or is it related to lifestyle?

Flashinthepan · 24/03/2017 16:02

Also, sorry that your treatment is halted until you lose some weight, but well done for being so determined Brew Flowers

FuzzyOwl · 24/03/2017 16:15

Oh Kwick, I'm sorry to hear that. How much over is your BMI? There are some supportive weight loss threads on here but I don't know if any quick fix in afraid.

Icing, I think, this weekend but DD1 has had a vomiting bug this week and I don't feel that great, so doubt I'll be in the mood.

SofiePendragon · 24/03/2017 16:21

kwick how much weight do you think you need to lose to get your bmi under 35? Did the consultant suggest any methods or refer you to a dietician?

I've started using my fitness pal recently because I realised I was eating far too much junk (cans of coke, cakes, chocolate etc). I think flash's suggestion of comparing with other people is a good plan +heads off to the weight loss section to check out the thread+

Singingforsanity · 24/03/2017 21:53

Kwick that sucks, but at least it's something you can do something about. My friend and her husband have both lost about 2 stone each through slimming world (I think, but one of those ones anyway). I think they're often quite good for speedy losses as you have the public weighing thing as incentive to not cheat! If you have a downfall food (mine is chocolate), I would recommend going cold turkey. I did it last year for Lent and stuck to it like glue. I spent a lot of time thinking about how much chocolate I'd throw down my throats at Easter but by the end of Lent the cravings had stopped, I'd got out of the habit of craving it and it was about a week after Lent I finally got around to having a bit of chocolate. The only thing you have to watch for is not replacing it with an equally unhealthy thing. Good luck!

Fuzzy good luck for the weekend, gx DD feels better and you manage to get that cape on!

jellypi3 · 25/03/2017 11:39

kwick have you tried slimming world? Some people have had amazing losses on that (i lost about 2st on it but i dont follow as well as i should)

flash i take the b6 complex vits for my LP

kwick · 25/03/2017 12:02

Thanks viroids- appreciate the support. Flowers

I have PCOS so weight loss hard but not impossible. My BMI is 40 - I need to lose 15 kilos.

Hobbit19 · 25/03/2017 18:30

I have also known quite a few people lose weight on SW, so that might be a goer kwick? Is there any form of exercise that you enjoy?

Singingforsanity · 25/03/2017 19:09

I had my first yoga class last night and I loved it! Was hard work (I'm really unfit) but I felt great afterwards. Didn't know if it was great for weight loss as you're building up muscles but I suppose you can say that about any exercise. But yoga lowers stress hormones and increases insulin sensitivity which encourages your body to burn fat rather than store as fat. You can do it kwick! Grin

TriJo · 27/03/2017 14:00

Yoga is great, I wish I had more time for it! I used to do a really physical ashtanga primary series class when I lived in Dublin and it really helped with flexibility and core strength.

DS is 1 tomorrow! That was the quickest year in the history of everything.

kwick · 27/03/2017 21:19

I 💜 yoga and swimming - just need to stop travelling so intensely (ie start a new job) so I can do in the week.

jellypi3 · 28/03/2017 09:04

so apparently i iced on CD 22 this cycle. not sure why it was so late, normally its around 18-19. AF normally rocks up on CD6 so if that happens this month i don't know what to think.

cookielove · 28/03/2017 09:43

How can af start on cycle day 6 when the start of a is cd 1?

NovaArt3mis · 28/03/2017 12:23

Possible jelly meant 6dpo instead of cd6?

Happy birthday to DS trijo Cake

I'm cd13 and have noticed a fair bit of ewcm, opk says nope though. Gonna get my cape on anyway. Haven't dtd since bfp in December, bad JSer Confused

cookielove · 28/03/2017 18:09

Waahhh af showed up today!! 6 days early! Well some spotting anyway! Sad

jellypi3 · 28/03/2017 18:44

Ib cookie?

I meant cd 26 not 6!

cookielove · 28/03/2017 20:29

That makes more sense jelly

Ib does that mean implantation bleed? Hmm I don't think so as it feels like period!

Singingforsanity · 28/03/2017 22:40

Happy birthday mini-TriJo! MiniSinging is coming up for 2 😱 I'm sure pregnancy lasted longer than his first two years?!

AF due today/tomorrow-ish. Not showed up yet and I'm champing at the bit to test tomorrow, but not too hopeful this month and I'm not even late yet so should really wait for Thursday. I'll let you know if I cave!

Fingers crossed for implantation bleed cookie!

Singingforsanity · 29/03/2017 07:55

Well I caved, and expecting AF today Sad

TriJo · 29/03/2017 08:32

Well DS got a fever for his birthday. Early pickup from nursery and we're stuck at home today :(

Mercifully he slept well, went to bed at 9 and is still asleep now with only a short waking at 5:30 for boob.

TractorComesFirst · 29/03/2017 09:22

Belated happy birthday to your DS Trijo.
Sad sorry to hear that singing.

That's me in the twot now but I haven't got my cape on nearly enough this month. Might JS one more time just for luck!

cookielove · 29/03/2017 09:32

Happy birthday to your ds jo

Fx he is feeling better soon.

Definitely af!! Oh bum!

Singingforsanity · 29/03/2017 21:29

Tri I feel your pain, DS off nursery too! Was waking every hour last night, gx he's better tonight!

Tractor you never know, that last cape-on might be the only one you need! Wishing you a peaceful twot, try to forget about it all for a bit!

Cookie af hasn't turned up yet but it feels like I'll be joining you in the two week piss up very soon! Wish she'd just hurry her ass up if she's going to come.

SofiePendragon · 29/03/2017 21:49

Happy birthday to your DS Tri. Hope he feels better soon. My DD had hand foot and mouth on her first birthday and was miserable and covered in spots!

I'm just easing into the twot as well tractor. I'm a bad Viroid and have been using contraband. Got a strong positive yesterday and the day before which has gone today, but planning to keep my Cape on at least for tonight.

TriJo · 30/03/2017 11:06

It turned out the fever was teething related! Tooth #7 made its appearance yesterday. He was in good form after that, behaved himself well while mummy had a 6 mile buggy run (with some snack wafers as bribery). He's back in today after a night where he slept through but woke me up 3 times with either his head in my ribs or feet on my head!
