Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Satsooma & Boggle I really really hope this is your cycle, or at the very least your year! This is now my sixth cycle after miscarriage and I want it so badly, but in terms of how long others have been trying its nothing, but it feels SO hard, so I cannot imagine how you guys feel.

Endo appointment is on the 30th, my hormones were all in normal range last time they were tested, but I think I bombed her with questions about how I that can be when I have so many classic symptoms (had a scan when I was about 18 that showed lots of cysts too, mainly on one ovary) so she referred me. Hoping I get some answers and if there's something I can do to help manage symptoms, maybe it will all fall into place.

Iamchanging · 10/01/2017 20:45

My fingers crossed for you all, it must be so hard trying to stay strong and not test. My next appointment is two weeks today, do you know if they will need to induce another period before I can start the clomid? Sorry if that's a stupid question, I'm a bit behind you all!

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/01/2017 22:13

You take clomid on day 2 of your cycle so if you don't have regular periods then they can give you provera or the like to induce one so you can start clomid.

2017 is our year. All of us.

satsoooma · 11/01/2017 09:18

Thanks changing and style. Changing you can't start clomid until you are on your period, so yes, they will give you something to induce one. Good luck for your appointment style, it never hurts to get extra tests, especially when it takes so long to get referred.

I did two FRER tests with FMU today (CD29). Still BFNs. I really don't feel like I am going to get my period (due tomorrow), but I guess I should be prepared for it.

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/01/2017 11:33

How frustrating sat, I'm really hoping you just ovulated a bit late and it's just a little too early?

As for me, I had my scan this morning... good lining and 2 good follicles on my right ovary. 11mm and 12mm. They predict I'm going to ovulate on Sunday and then need to get a progesterone blood test the following Monday.

Fingers crossed for everything. I hope this one sticks!

lexilou86 · 11/01/2017 12:38

sorry left to right is middle to bottom it was the other way when I previewed

What are we looking at lexi?

lexilou86 · 11/01/2017 13:10

oh sorry previous message didnt send- sorry will retype
So Friday am did an opk - negative (or ver yvery very faint ifit was there)
Went away at the weekend came back sunday and got the opk ont he left- didnt DTD as DH was too tired :-/ did middle opk on Monday am and again positive, I also had some EWCM , did opk on the right monday eve approx 5/6pm and it was faint- we then DTD on Monday night at 11.30ish- my question is did i miss the opporuntity? or is there a chance that i can cling to this month?

lexilou86 · 11/01/2017 13:12

also cant tell if i actually ovulated- having a blood test next week but have had no sign, to know

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/01/2017 15:15

The middle opk looks positive and supposedly you're meant to ovulate over the next 24-36 hours. If you did it that night You should be ok. Only base Basel temperature or a progesterone test will tell you if you ovulated.

satsoooma · 11/01/2017 15:35

Hi lexi. I looks like your LH peaked between sunday and monday. Like Boggle says, you could have ovulated 12-36 hours after that. So you have a chance. Good luck.

satsoooma · 11/01/2017 15:37

Congrats on the big follicles Boggle, sounds like you'll have a good shot Smile

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/01/2017 16:49

It is reminiscent of the cycle where I got pregnant. I just hope it sticks this time. We want you little bean!

satsoooma · 11/01/2017 19:44

Sending you sticky bean thoughts Boggle!

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/01/2017 20:07

Thanks satsooma, feeling cautious but optimistic?

satsoooma · 12/01/2017 09:18

CD30

Still no period

Still BFN

I'm going to sulk my way through today.

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 12/01/2017 20:42

satsoooma

How was today for you? BFN's are so shitty, especially when you're thinking 'maybe!' about being pregnant.

DP is in a sulk tonight as one of his mates mentioned his girlfriend just found out she's pregnant, and he's never had that type of jealous feeling before, makes me feel kind of sane that it's not just me that feels that over it happening for someone else (not you lovely ladies, I'd be overjoyed for you ladies).

Elly1685 · 12/01/2017 21:54

Hey ladies, hope you're not all snowed in!

Oh satsooma It's annoying being in limbo with a BFN and no AF... let's hope you get answers soon. Fx for you this cycle boggle. Your scan sounds positive though!

My friend had a baby today - a gorgeous little girl. Slight envy but she had been trying over 3 years so I'm really happy for her !

Really odd stuff today, been having loads of twinges 'down there'... not like AF pains, it's been happening all day and getting me worried now :/ x

SummerHopin · 13/01/2017 13:25

Hi ladies. Really pleased to hear of your follicles Boggle - FX that they keep growing!

I received the results of my AMH and DH's SA this week and am a bit confused. Have any of you had an SA for your other halves?

He had all good results apart from a positive for one of the antibodies. The consultant didnt seem worried at the time but just said that IF we had to go down the IVF road they'd use ICSI and not IUI. He didnt say any more than that, but other posts I've seen have people saying that they've been told they have a less than 1% chance of conceiving naturally?! I so wish I paid more attention during the consultation and asked more about it then. Was a bit 'rabbit in headlights' on the day.

Anyone got any ideas? x

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/01/2017 14:04

Hi summer, as I said before, I wouldn't worry too much right now. Ovulation is the key thing here at the minute. Can you speak to someone regarding your DHs SA? Might give you a bit of reassurance.

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/01/2017 14:06

Thank you, I've had EWCM too over the last couple of days so it's looking good. Should ovulate Sunday going by what the nurse said so getting plenty of DTD in between now and then.

SummerHopin · 13/01/2017 14:34

I know, Boggle, I think I will. Ovulation is the key, and at the moment its all quiet on that front :(

Exciting times for you then! I'm not sure when I last noticed EWCM - another joy of PCOS right?lol. Whats the next step for you now then? ANother scan in a bit? or bloods?

SummerHopin · 13/01/2017 14:39

p.s. Not sure I mentioned it but we are now being referred by our NHS GP as well, so might be further down the line of free help than we think thankfully.

We took the decision to have the SA and AMH tests privately so that we could see where we were and have a consultant advise us at the start. When I told my GP about the tests she was really helpful and said that if I sent the results over to her she could use those to generate a referral from them on the NHS. It will take a couple of months probably but at least we're on the list now. We also have the option of doing the first lot of clomid privately if we want to start before then, but the consultant said to give Metformin a go for a few months to build it up.

Hey satsooma - how are you? its been a while, where are you in the scheme of things now :) x

Bloods on the 23rd and that's it. We wait. As of Monday I'll be in the 2 week wait.
