Welcome to our third thread on PCOS. What we don't know isn't really worth knowing. We're a friendly bunch of women who have a few things in common. We all have either PCOS or unexplained infertility and we're all on a mission for a BFP!!!!

For new members, and old alike here are the links to our 1st and 2nd threads:

Now without further ado, let's continue on our journey.......

Hi changing, I agree that does sound a bit much. I'd def make a call on Monday.

I also wouldn't test either. If it is a BFN then it'll be so sad, these days I get very dubious about testing.

SummerHopin · 06/01/2017 23:19

Speaking of which - this week I've been nauseous, very much so. I've had no energy and been quite teary too. I've had tummy aches and lost my appetite - is this a sign of perhaps too much metformin? I'm currently on 3 x 500 per day and torn between trying to fight through it and bringing it down as it's making each day such a challenge.

I know lots of people swear by metformin though so I don't want to shy off it if the full dose could be so helpful.

??

Iamchanging · 07/01/2017 10:58

Hi Summer,
That's what I was like on metformin, and it messed up my stomach for a long time after too. However I was on 2000mg by the end and it still didn't do anything for me - but I know that for some people it made all the difference so it seems to vary hugely person by person.

FluffyEwok · 07/01/2017 13:28

Ive been on 1g metformin and inofolic for months with no difference. Its hard going. Think ive got a urine infection tooHmm

YouBoggleMyMind · 07/01/2017 19:40

I take between 500-1000mg metformin as that's all I can manage. Seems to be built up in my system though so I just take what I can.

SummerHopin · 08/01/2017 22:56

Thanks ladies. Im going to persevere until my next milestone which is my birthday in march, then it will be clomid I think. That's the plan at the moment-I might ask for clomid sooner though if it doesn't get better.

Should I be expecting my cycles and periods to return on metformin then? So far no periods and I've been on it for approx. 5 weeks.

I don't do OPKs anymore as I found them very stressful and upsetting that they were always negative.

Hope you've all had a good weekend Flowers

YouBoggleMyMind · 09/01/2017 09:47

I found it took longer than 5 weeks to show any difference with clomid when taking metformin.

SummerHopin · 09/01/2017 11:58

Hi boggle, yeah I figured that it would take a while to see any differences - it's just such a long game with 2 months here, 6 weeks there etc. Grrr!

Fingers crossed for you for weds. How are you feeling this time round?

YouBoggleMyMind · 09/01/2017 13:05

I hope that by the time march turns up, AF will be with you and regular! Fingers crossed.

Dunno how I feel really. It's been constant disappointment so I guess I feel like I should plan for that? Xx

Wingingit88 · 09/01/2017 18:31

Hi! Just come here for a moan really. I have pcos and long cycles. I have 2 boys and TTC #3. Currently on CD 35 bfn which trying to calculate from when we last dtd (I hurt my back) that's me pretty much out this month so I'm just sat waiting for AF to arrive before we try again next month. It's so frustrating

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 09/01/2017 22:25

Well AF is here now. Probably got a little bit more hopeful this cycle than I should have but oh well, I suppose there's the next one. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist to try find out what's going on in my body a bit more so hopefully that will get me somewhere in terms of TTC too.

satsoooma · 10/01/2017 14:02

I cracked and took a test on Saturday and got the expected BFN, as it was waaay to early. I'm now holding out for no AF in the next couple of days. I am driving myself nuts wondering if I am feeling pregnant, or just PMS-y this cycle.

I had ovulation and maybe implantation pains over the christmas break. I was also crazy tired for no reason for a day or so last week. For the last week or so, I've had lower back pain and more CM than normal. Of course, that could all be normal aches and pains. No boob changes either, so that is not a good sign.

I'm really struggling to keep perspective this cycle. Every little twinge seems like it could be the onset of AF :(

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/01/2017 14:28

When is AF due satsooma?

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/01/2017 14:30

When's your endo appointment style?

We all understand your frustrating winging, it's a tough journey. Hope you aren't waiting much longer for DC3 to appear.

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/01/2017 14:32

Any one seen amy about recently?

satsoooma · 10/01/2017 14:33

I'm not sure Boggle. Maybe Thursday?

Good luck for your scan tomorrow.

satsoooma · 10/01/2017 14:41

I think that Amy said she was going to take a break for a little bit.

Aspiringcatlady · 10/01/2017 14:45

I didn't know there was threads about pcos! I'm just place marking so I can lurk x

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/01/2017 14:47

Are you going to wait til Thursday satsooma or have a little test tomorrow with fmu? Thanks, I am feeling scared about it now. I need some good news.

Kinda hoped amy would be back for the new year. I hope she's ok.

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/01/2017 14:48

Welcome aspiring, lurkers welcome x

satsoooma · 10/01/2017 15:04

Hi aspiring!

satsoooma · 10/01/2017 15:04

I am hoping to hold out on testing until Fri/Sat. But I don't have great willpower.

satsoooma · 10/01/2017 15:16

I feel kind of scared to test this time. I don't think I am going to handle another negative very well. I'm at the point where I just have to get pregnant this time. I need my baby, DH have waited long enough, we deserve this. Not eventually, not next month, now!

I know everyone here is in the same boat, my patience is just wearing thin this cycle.

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/01/2017 15:34

Satsooma, I could have written your exact post. I need 2017 to start well! 2016 was shite and 2015 wasn't much better. It's my time. Now. No one else in my family or friends, mine.

satsoooma · 10/01/2017 16:46

This is defineitely your time Boggle. And we've both had chemical pregnancies last year, so we know it can be done :)
