Terrified I might be pregnant...

I'm terrified right now.
I'm on the pill, but I'll admit, I'm terrible at taking it, and last month I had two pill breaks (periods). My period roughly started on Halloween, however I wasn't totally paying attention to the exact date when it started or ended exactly, I just know it was that week.

I started taking the pill again the next week (roughly Tuesday-Thursday). I can't remember the exact date as I was finishing off a pack and starting the next immediately.

I had sex with my boyfriend of almost 2 years on Saturday 12th afternoon (4pm) with a condom, and for the first time in our relationship it split. We went down to Boots and I'd taken the Morning After Pill (Levonelle) within the hour.

It's been haunting me ever since, I'm terrified that because of the dates I could be pregnant. I'm so stupid that I didn't take my pills correctly last month. I've been taking them correctly this month, however I think I started them a day or two late.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

If you've taken a morning after pill then it's very unlikely you will be pregnant, try not to worry and try to get better at taking your pill. Could you not switch to the implant instead so you don't have to remember to take it?

I'd get the implant or depo injection if your struggling to take the pill.

I know, I've read on here about so many people who still became pregnant after taking the morning after pill.

I took it within the hour of having sex, and I'm just worried that I might have been ovulating as I started my pills a couple of days late.

I've taken the pill mainly to regulate periods, rather than contraception. I've been taking it religiously at the same time every day since this has happened.

Very unlikely you're pregnant under those circumstances!

Why don't you try the depo injection? No pregnancy scares and usually no periods to worry about either.

Yeah i think its unlikely too, do think about the depo or the implant.

It's unlikely because ovulating within days of missing a pill is very unlikely. You may think it's common due to the scare stories you hear but it's really not.

The success rate of the morning after pill works by how long after sex it was taken. In your case an hour, so it's probably 95-99% effective.

Sorry to re bump this thread, but after weighing myself this morning for the first time in a while, it's triggered my anxiety again.

I've had issues putting on weight since I was 15 (I'm now 23). I'm usually around the 8st - 8st5 mark, however after weighing myself this morning I'm 8st10.

Usually I'd be happy with this as I haven't weighed this much in 8 years, however with the stress of this month, I can't help but worry that it's something else.

Have you taken a pregnancy test?

No as I'm not finishing this pack of pills until the end of next week

My anxiety is driving me crazy.

You are obviously very worried. Try to calm down. I know this is hard to do.

So it is very unlikely you are pregnant. Please be assured that the statistics are with you on that one.

Can you buy a pregnancy test and use it - first thing tomorrow morning on your first wee. Personally, I think you don't need it (as its very unlikely you are) but if it helps reassure you then that's what you need to do.

Have your thought about seeing your GP for anxiety? You may need to have a discussion about how you're feeling. I know nothing about you - and I am not judging you in any way - but you sound very stressed and unhappy. You don't have to stay feeling like that - there is help out there and it's nothing to be ashamed of or worried about.

I've just taken a test, my anxiety got the better of me again.

It's negative, which is comforting for now. I'll take another one on the date my period is due.

I'm on medication for depression and anxiety, it gets triggered with change, hence why it's just gone into overdrive

That sounds really tough - of course you have gone into overdrive, completely understandable!

Hi, just an update again.

I took another test the morning after the previous test. Watching that one was terrifying as it looked briefly like it was turning positive. However it was completely invalid, ended up being blank. A few hours later it turned negative.

I started my pill break yesterday (Tuesday) morning, no symptoms apart from a bit of tiredness but I've been away in London for a few days so I'm playing a bit of catch up.

My face has completely broken out in spots and a couple of boils over the past couple of days which I'm hoping is a sign of AF coming soon.

If you arent getting a bfp by now you arent pregnant

Just wanted to add that the morning after pill sent my hormones absolutely haywire for a couple of cycles. I was bloated, heavy, spotted for a few days and had some terrible aching spots on my face (get one bad spot on my chin on a bad month). So that might be making you feel a bit lousy but it will get better

I'm so frustrated with myself right now. A couple of months ago, I posted on here after having unprotected sex, as the condom had broke, and I was terrified as my pills were slightly messed up and I had taken the morning after pill. My period ended up coming as normal however.

Fast forward to last night, and happened again 😔 (Seriously, AVOID Durex Thin Feel!)

I had my break either on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, however I had food poisoning on Christmas Eve and threw up every hour, so the pill might have been thrown up.

I started taking the pill again on Monday (2nd January) as I deliberately left it a day later to make it easier for future cycles to stop and start on a Monday.

I had taken all my pills this week, not at the same time each day, however I had forgotten to take Saturday's pill, and doubled up on Sunday (can't remember if it was morning or evening though).

I had sex around midnight on Sunday night and AGAIN the condom broke. I've taken a pill this morning as usual. Im worried what my chances are of being pregnant, as I haven't taken the morning after pill this time.

Should I be worrying?

There's always a small chance but it's unlikely. You need to either a) think about an alternative form of contraception like the coil or b) set an alarm so you don't forget to take the pill. If you suffer from anxiety, I'd suggest getting a secure and stress free option like the coil.

If you're not planning on having a baby within the next 3 yrs, think about the implant. I used to get in a right muddle with the pill so i can relate.

I don't want to seem irresponsible. This is the first time I'd missed a pill since the last time, and it was just poor timing I guess.

Op you are defo not pregnant.
Clearly you've been troubled by whole experience why don't you ask your gp about the implant?
