Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

We are so due a BFP on this thread team!

I need your advice. So DH is away with work in the last week of Aug 2017. If we started TTC in dec and miraculously fell pregnant first cycle, the due date would be 7 sept...but first babies are usually late, right? But should we wait until Jan (7 October due date) to be safe? We agreed jan but so impatient...

harrietm87 · 25/11/2016 15:12

(In case not clear, wouldn't want DH to miss the birth)

MrsG280516 · 25/11/2016 15:31

Tough one harriet I would say to be totally sure then wait until Jan but even so, babies can be as early as they want to be so no guarantees!

Alicejj8x · 25/11/2016 15:48

Hahahaha lol thanks for that ;) I shall give it a go? Wil that help then??
And lots of different answers but-- can you Ovulage without period?!

MouseLove · 25/11/2016 17:01

Here you go Alice. Dr google.

In some cases, though, you may ovulate without a period. This often occurs for women who have periodsthat are irregular. You can technically experience monthly bleeding and no ovulation, but that bleeding is not a normal period. Instead, it results from an anovulatory cycle.

Hi all ,
Just done my hycosy . I must admit it wasnt that painful but now i feel like i do when i am on my period ! The good news is that both tubes are wide open he could see a good focile at 16mm on cd9, sperm is optimal so why the heck i am not pregnant yet ??
doc did say my tsh is higher than optimal and i might have been having early misscariages or impantation problems because of it . he actually asked if iam testing early (!) i never tested early !
he gave me low dose of thyroxine and told me to test my levels again in 6 weeks ! In the end he did say 30% of couples who cannot concieve are unexplained which i did not like !
Mum is visiting this week so the ony time we will get to dtd is tonight so not too hopeful for cycle 12 !

kwick · 25/11/2016 17:36

mrs fingers crossed that law of Sod evoked!!!

harriet start now!!! Law of Sod would be on your side Wink

nicky this is great news and I am glad you did not experience the hycosy agony I did Grin Can't you sneak a few DTD in even with your mum there?

kwick · 25/11/2016 17:45

Microwave on the blink... not sure how I will keep my feet warm now!!! Angry

Trying to catch up on 6 days I'm a celebrity - love this show!

Alicejj8x · 25/11/2016 17:52

Just wish AF would hurry! The doctors aren't concerned I haven't had a period since September :/ maybe my cycles have always been irregular but being on the pill I didn't know?! Hmm I shall keep you ladies updated ! And hope these tablets work b Thankyou x

HepKestrel · 25/11/2016 17:52

Will add photo soon! Am away for weekend. This trip was long planned before the kitchen was booked-and took longer than planned. House is still a disaster (as in boxes everywhere!! So much dust and mess.)

Am away visiting friends. We are one of 4 couples..... Known each other for years.... And this year 3 couples have little babies/toddlers/children with them. Sigh. I will not be sad. PMA. PMA.

kwick · 25/11/2016 18:13

PMA all the way hep!!!!

EJ2009 · 25/11/2016 19:32

Oh ive been trying to use sods law too. Booking anythibg involving alcohol, extreme sport and spa days. Its not working so far but its proving to give me some nice distractions

sk1pper · 25/11/2016 19:51

EJ - happy birthday! Please don't let TTC consume you in this way. This is your day and you should be enjoying it. I know you've been feeling pretty down lately but you'll get there as we all will. Just PMA, PMA...it's half the battle. Hope you've managed to do a few things you enjoy today.

Kwick - glad you're home safe. Though I wouldn't use a microwave to warm your feet...have I missed something here...

Harriet - is it not the kind of trip that can be reorganised or avoided for something this important. If it was me, I'd still TTC and work the rest out later if it did fall on that date.

Nicky - this is awesome!! I'm so glad that you experienced no pain, and your tubes are clear - very, very promising. I recon you'll be one of the next to get BFP.

I had a pretty awesome day at work, we had suppliers down from Scotland so we took them to a snazzy restaurant. I got paid to sit in a restaurant and eat for four hours. The only unpleasant part was when the conversation turned to peoples kids, everyone around the table had kids except me. Even looking around the restaurant I could see 3 or 4 very small babies being ahh-d and coo-d by the waiting staff as they went past. Ugh...

Starmist · 25/11/2016 20:26

Hi ladies, hope you're all ok.
I've had a rough couple of days. Found out my cousin is pregnant & I feel so awful for saying this but it's made me feel really jealous & upset. She's planning on announcing the news at the Christmas family do & I thought it'd be me that would be pregnant this Christmas. I know they haven't been trying long & I just feel like it's all so unfair. I wish I didn't feel this way. I ended up crying at work today, I feel like I'm not coping at all.

kwick · 25/11/2016 20:34

Haha sk1pper!!! I use microwave to heat up seed hot water bottle for feet Grin

starmist I really feel for you honey. Be kind to yourself & eat plenty of Cake

MouseLove · 25/11/2016 20:39

Ooh London good luck for tonight Wink

Mouse hope you have a good rest tonight & that you feel better soon.

sk1pper · 25/11/2016 21:50

London - ha ha seems like we had similar days! Good luck with your BDing Wink

Mouse - sorry you're not feeling well, get some good rest tonight xx

Kwick - well, that makes complete sense now Grin

YouOweMeATenner · 26/11/2016 01:16

I need advice from you opk pros.

I assumed I O'ed around Cd16. Test line was the darkest it had been since I started opking this month (but not darker than the control line. I was reasonably confident I had O'ed but figured I missed the surge)

Today is cd20 and I did a wee opk before bed. It's positive. Has anyone O'ed this late before on a 28ish day cycle? Might try and dtd tomorrow just in case.

kwick · 26/11/2016 08:42

jam I hope you are going at it like rabbits!!!! LSFX!!!! Grin

mouse sorry hear you are not well Flowers

tenner I did this cycle - not normal for me but could be combination of MC/cold/stress that delayed it Confused my advice to you is to shag until there is no tomorrow!!!

Musicgrrl · 26/11/2016 09:53

tenner late O and short luteal phase is normal for me. This cycle I have O'd on CD20 and my LP is usually 8 days so will be 28 days cycle. I don't think it's ideal for conception from what I've read. Late O seems fine but the short LP seems to make things a bit harder. Hopefully it's not the norm for you.
