Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Thanks kwick and music. Just did another opk this morning and its definitely positive. Think I'll read up a bit more on short luteal phases. SMEP has worn dp out this month. Fx he has enough energy for one more!

Have a nice Saturday everyone Star

Musicgrrl · 26/11/2016 11:23

Let me know if you find anything interesting tenner! Are your cycles always 28 days ish?

Londonjam · 26/11/2016 11:50

Keep at it tenner!

Are you ready for some Saturday am tmi? We DTD last night and I ahem finished after him - and a load of his spunk shot straight out! Was really annoyed Envy hope there was enough that got up there! Yesterday was my +OPK day!

Londonjam · 26/11/2016 12:32

Does anyone else notice their heart rate increase during ovulation? Mine is through the roof today Confused it's really annoying and makes me feel really on edge Confused

WantingBaby1 · 26/11/2016 13:36

Don't feel bad hep and star it's natural to find these baby-filled situations difficult when your friends or colleagues are exactly where you want to be.

Saw a friend and her 1 month old for lunch today. She's such an adorable baby. Made my overies go mental!

Fx this could be my month. Will find out next week.

Binkybunny13 · 26/11/2016 14:46

Ok, I think I need to schedule mumsnet time daily to keep up! Grin

Wantinh fingers crossed for this week! When are you planning on testing?

Kwick as ever your advice and PMA is awesome- thank you!

Hep FX the kitchen issues are resolved. Great about your OH moving in Smile Hope you get some DTD in this weekend to welcome him properly Wink Enjoy the weekend away

Mouse So sorry that you've been sore and under the weather, and had to endure your "friend" comments. Some people just don't think Flowers Can totally empathise with the 2WW madness, it is such a headfuck! Goodness knows what will be like if I get preggers with the whole baby brain malarkey!

Harriet from my perspective I would just carry on as you never know and too much thinking can be a stress in itself. Although tbf Jan would mean you could enjoy Christmas and have something to look forward to in the miserable bleak throws of January?

London OMG well done on your awards! Hope you've been getting the DTD in?!

Skipper, Miranda and fxskip sorry the witch got you Chocolate Skipper the lunch (but not the chat) sounded great!

Mrsg I don't temp but FX!

Tenner good luck for the 2WW/ further DTD-ing!

Nicky hope you're ok after the hycosy Flowers Maybe the thyroxine is the missing link? LSFX

Star I really feel for you. And EJ I hope you managed to have a nice birthday in the end? It's awful when the TTC blues hit- just know we are all in it together and you can vent to us as much as you need Flowers

I've been pretty good this 2WW so far as have been avoiding TTC thoughts, but struggling today, obsessive google-ing and Pinterest reviews of pregnancy/ baby stuff Angry After last cycle confusion (8days late) I'm not entirely sure when to expect AF/test- normally I'd spot pre- AF and be due on Monday but so far feeling no real PMS symptoms but could just be another weird cycle

WantingBaby1 · 26/11/2016 15:26

binky I'll be testing on Monday or Tuesday if af hasn't arrived. Due Monday. More tummy pains today :(

Starmist · 26/11/2016 15:58

I'm so glad I have all you lovely ladies to vent to. As others have said we are definitely due some BFPs soon - LSFX everyone xx

Just dropping in to let you know there's a documentary on fertility clinics on Monday BBC1 8:30pm. Might be an interesting watch.

Binkybunny13 · 26/11/2016 16:12

Thanks star- think I might set that to record now and see how I feel about watching on Monday. After the Alex jones programme I'm not sure what it will do to me, ha!

kwick · 26/11/2016 16:48

I am with you there Binky! I wanted to punch her in the face!!!

kwick · 26/11/2016 19:39

Have resorted to feet on radiator, seeing as microwave has packed up...

EJ2009 · 26/11/2016 21:25

Thank you all for yesterdays birthday wishes. Lunch in our local country pub with dh and a bottle of champagne when we got home definately made for a nice day.

Trying to get my pma set up and going to buy a nice opk ready for next week. Getting pee on myself trying to use internet cheapies is not making this process easier Hmm

kwick · 26/11/2016 21:40

ej try pissing into a pot Grin

Blimey anyone seen the new Amazon advert? Nearly had me crying!

Binkybunny13 · 27/11/2016 08:20

Had the most bizarre dream last night so decided to go onto one of those dream analysis sites and in summary it thinks...

  • I feel I need to express one of my primal urges
  • i have a problem and feel lonely
  • I am looking for something that the person I dreamt of has (it was a friend with 2 beautiful children)
  • the dream indicates positive news

As the first 3 are obviously correct I'm hoping that the last one pans out too!

kwick keep those feet warm and hope that the PMA is coming through EJ

Happy Sunday allSmile

MouseLove · 27/11/2016 08:41

Thanks for the well wishes. I felt much better yesterday. I still had tummy ache but I feel ok now. Went and bought myself a nespresso for my birthday (on Wednesday) and a new kettle and toaster for Christmas off the in-laws plus a new printer. It was DHs birthday party last night and MiL filled the kitchen with smoke, right next to the food. Came home smelling like a chimney. Sad

My temp rose yesterday but dropped again a little this morning. So I'm probably out this cycle, no worries though I'm ok about it. I was even strong last night when I was asked no less than 5 times when we would have children. The friend who mentioned it at the gig was there and got her kids to wade in too. Her 5 yr old demanded I have a girl. Hmm

I'm going to have a massive slice of birthday cake and a nespresso for breakfast.

WantingBaby1 · 27/11/2016 09:54

Sounds like you had nice birthdays ej and mouse Cake

binky I'm having odd dreams too. Although all of them are about being pregnant! Self-induced I think. Last night I dreamt I was about to tell DH I was, and when I woke up there was a few moments when I actually thought the dream was real :(

Miranda234 · 27/11/2016 10:28

Enjoy the cake Mouse and good for you for being so positive.

I have dreams like that too and keep finding I'm waking up with my hand on my stomach like I'm protecting it!

FX for you wanting hope AF stays away

I spent yesterday sanding skirting boards and repainting them so as a treat we're off to a Christmas market today 😊

Can I have some advice please - I'm going to use OKPs for the first time, do you do it once a day or more and at a certain time? Sorry probably stupid questions but I have no idea what I'm doing! Also I don't know when to start doing them as my cycles have been 22, 25 and 33 days, I guess I'll just start in a few days just in case it's a short cycle, I'm day 3 now...

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday 😊

kwick · 27/11/2016 13:20

mouse I think you should tell your "friend" to shut the fcuk up!!!

miranda I am sure more expert opkers than me will weigh in, however I would suggest starting around cd8, and do twice/thrice a day to start - it will really help if you get to identify the surge and in some women it goes away quite fast.

Any of you lovely ladies seen The Crown? I loved it!!! Cannot wait for next series!!!

Londonjam · 27/11/2016 15:58

Miranda i would agree with kwick on the OPK s. I do them three times a day from about day 10 to 17, knowing I get the surge on day 15 pretty much every month. I'd give yourself a bigger window to start with to make sure you don't miss it.

I haven't watched the Crown yet kwick but definitely will be!

Had a lovely autumnal walk in the woods today and felt quite reflective. Think I'm 1 DPO and my hormones are shifting. Better buckle up for another TWW ...

Starmist · 27/11/2016 16:12

Mouse that's terrible of ur friend. Why people think this stuff is their business is beyond me. You did so well to hold it together.

Miranda I'm doing opks for the first time this cycle. I'm CD 12 & have just had a very faint line. My cycles are 31-33 days.
Jam oh I thought once a day would be enough to test. I don't want to test at work & the instructions don't recommend using FMU so I'm not sure how I'd fit in more than 1 test. It's so faffy, do you wait 20 mins before testing as per the instructions?

MouseLove · 27/11/2016 16:35

Star I did one a day, got 4 strong positive days on my OPK. I think until you see whats best for you once a day will be ok. It's your first cycle using them after all.

Well, what was meant to be a day out with DH has turned to me being home alone, his friend taking him to footy (which I absolutely don't mind about) so I've had cake, 2 nespresso coffees (1 decaf lol) and set up my new printer. I'm about to print this weeks schedule for my planner and stop reading threads on here from people getting BFP after 5 mins of TTC.

I have no idea why I'm letting it get me upset. I can't believe I'll say this, but some ladies in this thread deserve it sooooo much more. I wish we could all get our BFP right this second. Sad

sk1pper · 27/11/2016 17:01

Anyone testing soon?

Starmist · 27/11/2016 17:06

Oh Mouse bless you. Do not read those threads. Yes there's are lots of people where it happens straight away but there are lots like us who take some time to get there. But the important this is we WILL get there xx

Londonjam · 27/11/2016 17:11

Star I'm a total OPK obsessive Blush you probably do not need to do them that much! I can quite easily do them at work so I do. I think you'll be fine if you wait until you get home from work.

Mouse bless you. I felt like that when I first started trying. I think I felt most desperate about 6-7 months in. How I feel more of a kind of dazed resignation and acceptance that it's just not happening. Hope it's not long for you.

geeup · 27/11/2016 17:16

Like skipper said, anyone testing soon? Am day 4 (day 2 of third round of clomid) and it's soooo boring. Feels so long till I ovulate and can start testing for something.
Been out gardening all day which was good. Hope the leaves are nearly finished falling as am knackered from picking them all up! Seen lots of babies this weekend and does remind you how much hard work they are! DH and I enjoyed our lazy lie in this morning and tea in bed!
