Thread 21 TTC #1 - The one where all our cycles went haywire but we DID NOT GIVE UP

Calling all clomid-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX) We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Oh bugger jam, lots of Cake and Winefor you. I've been trying to convince myself that AF arriving this week isn't the end of the world because it means I won't have an August baby but it's not really much consolation after all this time.

sk1pper, I think it's totally possible, the sperm can live for up to 5 days after all. Hopefully there are plenty still hanging around to meet your egg.

HepKestrel · 09/12/2016 08:38

So sorry Jem hope mine isn't early too ...... have no supplies with me at work !

FXSkip · 09/12/2016 10:05

Oh no Jam I didn't see your wee sad post SadSadSadSadSad

I'm sorry. I wanted this to be your month so much.

Sk1pper to be honest, it could be. Ideally it would have been 7th, but there is no reason to believe you've missed the boat at all. FX for you!

So sorry jam Sadi ll be joining you on cycle 13 shortly ! We will get there someday and all this heartache will be forgotten. My friend gave birth a few weeks ago they were ttc for two years diagnosis was "unexplained infertility " ! She now has her precious newborn girl in her arms ! I know its difficult and is only natural to feel defeated and miserable but lets try not to lose hope !

Londonjam · 09/12/2016 10:52

Thanks girls. Feeling pretty rubbish today. Will pick myself back up. Got the GP appointment on Thursday so am going to have a few days away to stop thinking about it and will be back next week.

Much love and fertile wishes to all of you until then xx

AlexiaB · 09/12/2016 11:35

Skipper lol in the woods! We don't get much free time together but I could make an effort and join a class or somethingHmm Fingers crossed there was lots of sperm still hanging around waiting for your egg.

Sorry about the temp drop Skip. Keep at it Xmas Wink

Thats good to hear Music. How did poas go this morning? Btw I snooped on the grads thread and the date you conceived is much more accurate than LMP. As you ovulated a week late (on cd20) they could unnecessarily scare you and tell you that baby isn't as far gone as it should be at this stage etc if you have an early scan. I'd probably lie about my LMP date so it matched up better with baby bean because everyone has a 28 day cycle obviously

EJ a temp rise (ovulation) 2 days after a +opk is very common. A temp drop the day after O (even below the coverline) is known as a 'fallback rise'. Google to find out more. A dip around 3-4dpo is known as a secondary estrogen surge. As long as all the signs line up (+opk, temp shift, CM, O pain) then it's absolutely fine. Definitely don't stress yourself out. You should get your crosshairs soon Smile

Sounds like you've given it a proper good go this cycle Penguin. Fx for you! Hope January hurries up so you can get your results.

Jam I'm so sorry SadFlowersCake Take all the time you need. It's devastating going through this month after month, with what feels like no end in sight. At least you have your appointment to focus on next week. Take care FlowersFlowers

AlexiaB · 09/12/2016 11:39

I've never had a chart look like this before. Eek. It'll probably be all for nothing but I hope it keeps climbing!

lsfx alexia

AlexiaB · 09/12/2016 11:46

Thanks Hep - you too!

Musicgrrl · 09/12/2016 11:50

What a cool chart alexia! My fingers are doubly crossed for you right now. Thanks for the reassurance re dating. Sadly it's too late to change my LMP date with the GP but I will correct everything they say by a week! My poas was good today (pic below of 12dpo and then 15dpo). I know I won't be able to calm my worrying for a while though (probably until first scan!) I guess that's normal.

Jam I am so sorry. That awful bitch AF. Glad you have appointment soon with GP and nice day planned tomorrow with your friends. We're all still here for you whenever you need us Flowers

AlexiaB · 09/12/2016 12:27

Yay that's beautiful Music It's even pulled dye from the control line Xmas Grin Ah okay, well you can always mention that you O'd later anyway. At least you know where you're at. All totally normal hun, I don't think you'll ever stop worrying! What will be will be but it all looks great so far.

Thanks. I'm hoping it means something good is happening in there fx fx!

kavanaughkj · 09/12/2016 13:03

As usual running in with very little time but wanted to send hugs out to Jam - I'm so sorry. Had been hoping so much you'd be heading for the grad thread this cycle. Flowers

sk1pper · 09/12/2016 13:13

Your chart looks really good Alexia - such a good strong rise. fx

sk1pper · 09/12/2016 13:41

Ugh more awkwardness. At work everyone was discussing babies and maternity leave (around Xmas it seems like the world and it's dog bring their infants into the office for everyone to see.) Someone casually asked "so who's next?" and I kid you not, everyone turned to look at me.

Can people smell me ovulating?! sniffs armpit

HepKestrel · 09/12/2016 13:50

Flowers skipper

when I was visiting friends a few weekends back, i was passed the baby and a comment was made "you may as well have practice" ...Hmm

sk1pper · 09/12/2016 14:06

Hep - that's fucking terrible, it's such a blase thing to say. But I assume they don't know what they've been through?

Wish people would think a bit more before they opened their traps.

sk1pper · 09/12/2016 14:06

*youve been through

harrietm87 · 09/12/2016 14:14

skipper I had the same thing at our office party last week - I think because I got married recently everyone assumes it's the next step for us (which of course it is!) but I didn't expect so many direct questions from colleagues - surely it's against some hr policy or something?! We have an amazing mat package and well trodden path of people having 2 or 3 kids in quick succession then leaving so there's definitely an undercurrent with their questions - won't be wholly well received if I do get pregnant.

Binkybunny13 · 09/12/2016 14:15

Oh London so sorry Flowers It's shit this TTC malarkey. Good luck for next weeks appointment and in the meantime do what you need to do to keep yourself sane

Alexia I don't temp but that is a promising chart! I am wishing you a sticky bean so hard!

I'm only CD7 (of a probable 30- something day cycle again with O around day 21) but we are going out for dinner tonight and I've told DH we are getting the DTD practice in afterWink Every 2 days this cycle so there is no potential to blooming miss the egg!

harrietm87 · 09/12/2016 14:16

Ps sorry jam and hep - 2017 will be our year.

Musicgrrl · 09/12/2016 15:08

Thank you alexia, you're so lovely, you've made me feel lots better Star also I didn't realise that about the dye! Is your LP usually 10 days? At least it's not as long to wait!

What is it with all these people making inappropriate baby comments?! I have had the same but I tend to over act so much that people at work now think I hate children and wouldn't dream of having one ha. So insensitive though and none of their bloody business!

sk1pper · 09/12/2016 15:48

Music - that's actually a great tactic. I'd worry they'd think it was a mistake when it did happen though...but as usual I'm over thinking it :)

kwick · 09/12/2016 19:10

Haha katharino!!! I did not even go into Frankfurt - just went to a suburb - literally: airport-taxi-hotel-office-taxi-airport. I am now in taxi going home Grin only 1 trip left this year!!!

Alexia no heavy lifting
Good advice fxskip - I am actually swapping to "green" cleaning and beauty products. That reminds me I am going to post the nasties list again:
