Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (AF) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier.

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around too. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, temp experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

My charts are pretty perfect frustratingly and it had occurred to me that we stop dtd too early but tried to carry on longer but DH's back put paid to that this month.

Cd25 and no sign of anything being different this time around :-(

Mouse - I would definitely get a prenatal vitamin and leave it at that. I am regretting buying all these various vitaminss and supplemlements, and I'm especially regretting going overboard on it a few cycles ago and getting that terrible bout of acne that I still have the scars from. But I am a complete idiot so if you think you can do it sensibly then there should be no harm, just check and double check your RDAs!

Star - so so glad your appointment went okay. I remember how much of a relief it was when I got what I needed, you'll be joining a few of us in the early tests stage so that's nice. :)

No news from me, other than AF is over - yay! And I get to use my fancy ovulation stick tomorrow, now I have to deal with lows, highs and super fertiles...hmm, really should read the instructions for it.

LondonJem · 01/11/2016 19:25

Starmist that's interesting they ordered three months worth of day 21 bloods. Only one for me, and no swabs. She referred for scan too but no letter yet Hmm

Glad they were supportive and put things in place for you. Nicky where are you at with tests now, is your scan booked?

kwick · 01/11/2016 19:34

mouse the thing is the normal dose for folic acid is 4mcg daily - if your BMI is over 35 then it is 5mg or 5000mcg so you either takes hundreds of pills or get your GP to prescribe (or like me you buy Solgar Folate that come in 1000mcg tablets).
I take most of the supplements because:

  • I am no spring chicken
  • I have enough fat on me to baste a whole load of potatoes
  • I have PCOS
Don't stress it - but do get educated - again I would recommend "It starts with the egg"

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD jem!!! It is the middle of winter and you have your feet uncovered???? I broke out my Uggs ages ago!!!
Also what harm is there continuing with LSFX until well into TWW? Believe me if magic potion was not so expensive I would be doing multiple IUIs each cycle!!!

fxskip stranger things have happened at sea Grin I really hope my magic does the trick for us all!!!

Great progress star - well done!

That will defo work eleanor!

hep what did you have withdrawn???? Confused

alexia Flowers take it easy

Best if luck geeup with interview!

LondonJem · 01/11/2016 19:59

Lol kwick you sound just like my friend kate she would say the exact same thing. To be fair my feet have been cold all day. I have cracked out my cosy slippers, boosted the heating and had soup for dinner. I am warming up!

LondonJem · 01/11/2016 19:59

Yes hep are you alright?

HepKestrel · 01/11/2016 20:13

i'm fine Grin

just ignore,

Starmist · 01/11/2016 20:30

Geeup good luck for your interview.

Skipper glad AF is over.

Jem it's frustrating that different areas do different things. Not sure why there's 3 months of blood tests, I assumed it was to get an average. Doctor said we won't be referred to fertility clinic for any further tests or treatment until been TTC for 2 years. Still it'll be nice to get some results & know what the situation is.

Nicky883 · 01/11/2016 20:56

Hello jem i just started with the blood tests at nhs but i booked an hsg privetely cause i cant wait and i can afford that . The reason i went through nhs is that if i do need ivf or something similar unfortunately i cannot afford to go private so i wanted to get starter as i know it can take a long time
She told me that if is unexplained then i would be eligible for one round of ivf

geeup · 01/11/2016 20:56

Thanks all. Am hoping that applying for a new job invokes the law of sod and I get preggo immediately!

kwick · 01/11/2016 20:57

This is the book I keep recommending - I finally bought the non-Kindle version Grin

Jem - I tend to get a temp rise a day or two after a +ve OPK but my rise seems to be very gradual so not a spike in temperature. I think your dtd pattern this cycle sounds perfect. We have also just started trying to extend dtd a bit after +ve OPK just in case.

kwick - there's absolutely no harm in LSFX in the TWW but it already feels quite artificial for us to dtd that much in fertile week and we find it quite hard to maintain during the week with busy jobs and tiredness etc. Can understand it must be frustrating that you only get one shot a cycle. Sorry if this is a rude question but do you know whose potion you are using? Is it the same person's each time? Feel free not to answer!

Winging I think your chart and dtd look good. And I think it's pretty common not to have any symptoms so I wouldn't read anything into that. Keep us updated!

Gee good luck tomorrow!

Star three months of bloods sounds thorough! Surely that can only be a good sign Smile

LondonJem · 01/11/2016 21:36

Definitely starmist the more info the better. That makes sense Nicky i don't get the hsg test until referred to the fertility clinic, perhaps will consider paying for it also. Will see what these first tests come back as.

Geeup* yes that sounds about right. In the back of my mind I know we've got two really important weddings next September - and it would be Sod's law for us to get pregnant in December totally stitching us up for both weddings! It would be the best Sod's law ever for both of us so fingers crossed

sk1pper · 01/11/2016 21:39

Is is true they won't refer anyone until 2 years of TTC? Or do you think it's just certain areas?

YouOweMeATenner · 01/11/2016 21:39

Apologies for the rookie question, but what does LSFX stand for?

Musicgrrl · 01/11/2016 21:41

FXskip that's really interesting about your BFP on your first cycle not temping! I think there's probably a lot to be said for trying to take your mind off it completely and relaxing. Sadly I'm just a control freak and it seems unlikely I'll ever be able to do that! I had heard that about cps too.

Alexia so sorry to hear that you are having a bad time of it. I think you were right to give yourself the day off. Hope your DH has been supportive. Tww is going fine so far. I'm usually fine in the first week. Only 5dpo atm - I draw the line at symptom spotting that early! (I have to draw a line somewhere...)

LondonJem · 01/11/2016 21:46

Skipper I'm referred after one year - as soon as we have our test results back. Think it depends on your local NHS trust.

Tenner legs spread fingers crossed!

This is interesting trib.al/8BVnqoo

Notyetthere · 01/11/2016 21:46

Legs spread fingers crossedGrin

kwick · 01/11/2016 21:47

My dear music ask away!!! I spent HOURS choosing my magic potion Grin it was like being in a sweet shop but only being allowed to buy one variety!!
This is my second donor - first one did not work out (had 5 tries) so I chose another donor (from a different bank). I do not his name or anything just vital stats like eye colour and ethnicity and so on. I have enough for 2 more cycles - then will need to chose a new donor as this one has no more stock! Will likely have to chage bank again - this one is in US and what with Zika not sure I can use again.

you LSFX = legs spread, fingers crossed. All you lovely ladies DTD need to keep your legs spread but still show support for others. This is not part of the MN lingo - but a phrase that was invented on this thread - sorrh cannot recall who by!

MouseLove · 01/11/2016 21:51

LSFX = Legs spread, Fingers crossed.

I've had a pretty shitty day. Got home from work really late, fell asleep on the tram and missed my stop so had to walk home. It seems my uncle has been moved to a hospice too.

I've got an uncomfortable feeling in my pelvis so I'm off to bed in the hopes tomorrow is a little less shit. Although I doubt it since it's the day I lost my nanna. Can it be Friday right now please lol

CD48 tomorrow. I recon I might make it to 60.

MrsG280516 · 01/11/2016 22:00

Sorry to hear you've had a shit day Mouse, hope the rest of the week goes fast for you and you can relax at the weekend!

HepKestrel · 01/11/2016 22:05

Am hoping its PMS, but really feel like crying and I don't know why. Just out of sorts.

Think my caffeine intake has crept back up so need to address that.
Have got a few work and family stresses, need to keep them under control.

LondonJem · 01/11/2016 22:23

Some days are just harder than others. Get a good nights sleep hep and mouse I hope you both feel better tomorrow Flowers

sk1pper · 01/11/2016 22:38

Hope you feel better soon mouse and hep xx

kwick - I'm starting to think you wrote this egg book Hmm

WantingBaby1 · 02/11/2016 03:41

Hey ladies.

Sorry to hear you're feeling blue hep and mouse . Hopefully you'll feel much better today after a decent sleep.

Fingers crossed for the second doner kwick!

Quick question - on what CD do you start with the ovulation sticks? I have loads of Internet cheepies. I think my cycle is 28 days so was going to start on CD 6. Just wondered what others did? I'm not temping or anything else. How reliable do you find these ovulation sticks are? MY plan is to DTD every 3 days until fertile week and then try for as much as poss - daily or every 2. That way DH won't be shattered before fertile week. FX! Annoyingly I'll be away with work for the first 3 of 6 days of fertile week, but can't he helped.

I attach my book recommendation incase anyone is interested.
