Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (AF) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier.

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around too. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, temp experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

So sorry Silver FlowersFlowers

kwick everything crossed for you! Keep us updated here, I love reading all about it.

Inspector ahh how frustrating. Plus note is that your DH is there ready and waiting for whenever you need it :) Good news on the scans!

I survived my first dose of clomidGrin and didn't have any side effects wahoo. My body must be so used to waking up to temp at 6.30 that I woke up naturally at 5.30 today hah! How did the other temping girls get on?

Hope we are all ok. Just got back from weekend celebrating Mum's 70th. Had mother of AF here.

sk1pper · 30/10/2016 12:56

Hep - don't trust your boobies Grin hope your AF is soon so you can get on with TTC xx

Penguin - good luck with all your tests, I'm really happy that a few of us are at the same stage to support each other.

Kwick - thanks for explaining, did you not get your first round of IVF for free? IUI sounds much better than IVF, though IVF brings happiness to a lot of couples - I've always thought it a bit clinical.

Alexia - nice! I hope you stay symptom free with your further dosages. I woke up when my alarm went off which I guess was really 8am instead of 7am. Oh well...

Miw - sorry to hear your AF is bad :( hope your mum enjoyed her bday though?

Well despite having terrible AF cramping and two pretty heavy days, yeaterday after showering before my scan I didn't bleed all day. Some spotting this morning but I'm literally in disbelief. Normally I have 4-5 days of heavy bleeding. I have changed my diet considerably the last month and started drinking dandelion tea 3x a day which is meant to help but didn't realise it would be this quick!

kwick · 30/10/2016 13:22

sk1pper I do not qualify for any NHS funding as I am a single lady over 40.
I will go back to IVF if this IUI does not work - it is clinical but it works (that is how I got my BFP).
Wow the Dandelion tea sounds good!!!

sk1pper · 30/10/2016 13:50

Kwick - it really seems unfair :( well I hope this IUI is successful and you don't have to worry about IVF :)

Anyone here done acupuncture for infertility? A place opened up in town and the guy seems nice and asked me to call him. But I just can't bring myself to do it. I've thrown a lot of money at supplements, vitamins, books, herbal teas, ovulation kits, yoga etc I really want to avoid £40 a week for acupuncture.

miwelaisjacydo · 30/10/2016 13:55

Sk1pper yes mum had a lovely birthday thanks went to Ludlow which is a lovely place.

AF is absolutely awful but had such a wobble before AF arrived I cried and cried for a couple of days.
Kwick fingers crossed for you

HepKestrel · 30/10/2016 16:56

skipper other than dealing with stress, there is no evidence that acupuncture will do anything more than placebo effect.

Musicgrrl · 30/10/2016 17:20

Alexia I also woke up at my normal time which is 6am but today was 5am! Took my temp then and then took it 45 mins later and it was the same (although my thermometer is only to 1dp so less sensitive than others). Hopefully my body will adjust quickly!

sk1pper · 30/10/2016 18:36

Thanks Hep - that's what I thought.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend!

kwick · 30/10/2016 19:16

sk1pper my cousin had one session of acupuncture did IVF and had twins... I have tried to go to the same bloke but one month later I have failed to coincide with receptionist to make an appointment so think I will give it a miss Confused

miw Flowers

Thingymaboob · 30/10/2016 20:03

I was so hopeful of acupuncture after reading all the evidence and being recommended by friends. However, I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago so won't be having that again

spicelader · 30/10/2016 23:29

Very long time lurker.
skipper I was reading about your dandelion tea and see that some have hibiscus in them. Somewhere in my ttc googling I have read that hibiscus may prevent pregnancy.
Granted this is google research but posting just incase you haven't come across this. livestrong.com say this-
According to a study from the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in India, use of hibiscus tea as a natural birth control goes back to ancient times. The study showed that hibiscus root extract may influence estrogen levels and prevent implantation and pregnancy. Avoid drinking hibiscus tea during the first trimester of pregnancy due to the herb's possible interference with hormonal activity.

WantingBaby1 · 31/10/2016 07:22

Hope the IUI goes well kwick, sounds like you're going through a rough time with it Flowers

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage Thingy

I'm out this month. AF arrived this morning bang on time. Not unexpected as we onky DTD twice and during my fertiile few days and i missed the surge due to DH being away, but still crushing. DH was really upset. I don't think he realises it's likely to take a while to get pregnant. When you're a teenager they tell you a boy just has to wave his willy at you and you'll be up the duff in seconds! Not so easy when you're 30.

Onto cycle 2 :(

InspectorPenguin · 31/10/2016 07:30

Yes, Kwik, it's definitely playing silly buggers because I have to get tests on the right day. It's bloody annoying!
My OPKs have turned very faint now so I either didn't surge/ovulate at all or it happened a week earlier than it has ever done since coming off the pill. If it's the latter then we're scuppered as I was away for a couple of days at the wrong time. Oh well, at least we have the tests to distract us.

Your schedule sounds soooo busy. It must be a nightmare trying to schedule in your essential appointments never mind finding time for acupuncture and the like. How is the itching now, any better?

Glad the first lot of Clomid went well Alexia. Do you need to do anything different during the cycle you take it on?

Musicgrrl · 31/10/2016 07:44

Just jumping on to ask what thermometer it was that you bought recently Mouse? Can't remember who recommended it - was it you Alexia? Need to get me a more accurate one!

MouseLove · 31/10/2016 08:09

Hey Music I have this one...
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LUSWC5W

It seems accurate, just my body not playing game at the moment. Have my appointment at 9am to discuss my blood results so maybe that might point to why it's erratic.

kwick · 31/10/2016 08:24

I am so sorry thingy Flowers
I am being reminded a lot about my MC today as I am back at the hospital for blood tests.

Welcome spice!

Sorry for AF wanting Flowers

Not a particilarly rough time wanting - the process is "labour intensive" but fairly routine now for me... just hope it works this time!
Try being 42!!!

Itching continues - getting bloods done this morning to see if it is diabetes Halloween Confused penguin

Happy Halloween everyone!!! Halloween GrinHalloween GrinHalloween GrinHalloween GrinHalloween Grin

LondonJem · 31/10/2016 08:36

Morning Brew I need to catch up

I can't believe you still have that awful itching kwick hope they get to the bottom of it. Fingers tightly crossed for your next IUI

How frustrating penguin does that mean you wait now for next ovulation to do your blood test?

Sorry to those AF got. We are really in need of some bfps now. I hope November is a fruitful month !

Skipper I had acupuncture in September. I found it deeply relaxing, I floated out the clinic afterwards. Would carry on if it cost less. The relaxation was worth it for me. I think there is evidence it supports IVF - I think some fertility doctors recommend it.

LondonJem · 31/10/2016 08:39

I'm day 18, 2 DPO today. Had all the sex - pretty much daily, got a strong positive OPK, used preseed etc so we've done all we can. Hello to my eleventh TWW Envy

InspectorPenguin · 31/10/2016 08:44

Good luck with the bloods Kwik.

Jem I'm lucky in that DP is going to take my blood at home for me so we're still going to take it on Day 25 as planned but fully expect to re-do them next month. Annoyed at the delay but on the upside I did say I'd prefer an autumn baby to an August one..!

Sorry about AF Wanting. Please do try not to get too down about it at this stage though. It should be a happy, exciting time for you both. There is absolutely nothing to say you won't be one of the many lucky ones who fall pregnant within a few months so do try and enjoy it Flowers. That goes for you too, Mouse!

geeup · 31/10/2016 08:58

Sorry I can't do individual comments as on phone and can't scroll back but wanted to say we can be clomid buddies alexia. I start again tonight on day 3, clomid cycle 2, ttc cycle 19.

geeup · 31/10/2016 08:59

(After an annoying few days of spotting and false starts to this months AF!)

FXSkip · 31/10/2016 09:45

Morning all! Long time no see, but I've been popping in occasionally so trying to keep up! The usual commiserations for all the AFs, and congrats to kit.

I've been so busy with work, just got home from a work trip to the states on Thursday, which coincided nicely with the end of what I think was AF - yay!! so, after an epic 85 day bleed post-mc, I think I am back in the game. (taps wood furiously)

For the last 3 weeks I have been seeing an acupuncturist, taking magnesium citrate with B6, agnus castus and folic acid. Feeling like all those things make me feel more positive, and I'm sure the acu helped to regulate my cycle. Only time will tell though. Going to start OPKs again just for this month, and might try to temp too. PMA ladies!!

AlexiaB · 31/10/2016 09:57

Happy Halloween Kwick Halloween Grin and everyone else!

Music I got the same thermometer from eBay, it was just a lighter shade of pink. Works wellSmile

Hi spice ~waves~

Sorry wanting Flowers great words from Inspector.

Inspector no nothing different, just hope I ovulate and have lots of well timed sex! How lucky you have a Dr DH! Hope next month's bloods go to plan for you.

Jem you nailed it as always lol good luck! LSFX

gee yes let's be clomid buddiesGrin That sounds all sound very similar. I had no idea if it was spotting or AF! I was meant to take clomid cd2-6 but had to delay it. The other option was cd5-9 but I couldn't wait until the 5th day so I took it cd4 9pm. Don't think it will have as good effect as 2-6 would have but we'll see.
Clomid cycle 1, ttc cycle 18 with one miscarriage and plenty of long cycles too. Feels like forever!

Great to see you back skip and back in the game too! What an epic-ly horrible amount of daysShock I've heard great things about acupuncture for TTC so I'm sure it's helped, and the relaxation too. Temping is a good idea if you're worried about what your cycles will do now - lots of help here too!
