Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We like it when the grads stick around. No question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Where is Kwick?

Hep spotting should be outlawed.

GP was OK. Have to have 21 day bloods and DH has to book a SA. She doesn't know why I'm bleeding and the dildocam was inconclusive, it might be a cyst it might not.

Idk, the ball is rolling but there are no answers.

Sorry alice! If you can afford it i would reccomend geting the fertility mot test done they spend more than an hour with you and explain everything
It cost me 150 and i dont regret spending that money at least i know there are no obvious problems .
If possible book it 7 days after your ovulation so the doctor can check your endometrium etc .
Nhs is a very valuable service to have but for things like this it can takes ages and i dont know about you but i really dont have the patience any more

LondonJem · 29/09/2016 10:29

Nicky where did you get yours done?

Hep how frustrating hope it stops ASAP

Alice did you GP say how long it takes to get SA test done and results back on the NHS? Glad to hear ball is rolling for you

geeup · 29/09/2016 11:29

Nicky I agree. I did the fertility MOT at Create (think it was about £200?) which was basically a dildocam and a chat as my first step after 6 mths of trying. Gave me lots of info and things to think about and prepared me for when I did go NHS.

LoveYouTilTheEnd · 29/09/2016 12:40

I'd never even heard of/thought of a fertility MOT, sounds like a good idea. Is that a really sad xmas pressie to ask for?

Sorry if I offended anyone about not POAS, I just mean for me after 18months, I used to do it like they were going out of fashion! Genuinely have FX for everyone

AliceScarlett · 29/09/2016 12:42

I wanted to have a fertility for my birthday in March, but we decided to try and year earlier instead. If we had stuck to the original plan we'd be further along now. Angry

I'm going to give the NHS a whirl, I should have my bloods back in a month and I'm not sure about the SA but I can't imagine it will take longer than a month.
Annoyingly I live right on the border of 2 counties and if I change gp surgeries for 10 min down the road I'd be eligible for 3 cycles of ivf before 40 rather than my current 1 cycle before 35 sigh Should I change gp surgeries?

I did mine in create fertility i think it was 150 did i get a discount ? Might be wrong though i am not very good at remembering how much things cost ;p

I am suprised the gp told you it could be a cyst surely she could gave seen that with an internal ultrasound ?
I booked mine on cd21 to measure the endometrium lining as i had it in my head that that might be the problem ! the doctor was very good i dont remember his name but he was greek . He gave me an explanation on everything and was describing what we were seeing in the unltrasound machine. I wanted to do an hsg test as well but he explained that he doesnt think is necessary at the moment and only to do it if my dh sa results acome back ok

Alice that is interesting how can you find out what each gp offers in terms of ivf cycles ?

AliceScarlett · 29/09/2016 12:46

They said they found a cyst with blood in it on my first scan, so I had a repeat scan 6 weeks later and the report talks about an "abnormal, bloody large area within the ovary" or something like that. Didn't say cyst, but not mass or tumour either. Literally no idea, don't think gp did either. Pleased the radiologist is going to look over the results.

Lol 3 years of infertility in my area to be eligable ! Better start saving for ivf ;p

Musicgrrl · 29/09/2016 14:03

What depressing stats. 1 cycle on offer in my area too. Fertility MOT sounds like a good idea. I have that planned for the new year if needed.

Alice glad stuff is starting to happen although frustrating that they couldn't give you a clear picture of your scan results.

HepKestrel · 29/09/2016 14:08

3 cycles i think, but very unfriendly doc ! not positive its up to date info.

LondonJem · 29/09/2016 15:19

Up the shard today at a digital conference and LOOK WHAT I MANAGED TO WEE IN

Taking POAS to new heights!!!

MouseLove · 29/09/2016 15:39

I just looked. It's 2 years before it's offered in my area and 3 courses total. With a cycle offered to women 40-42 if they meet criteria. Confused

AliceScarlett · 29/09/2016 15:40

That is impressive! I fully support your commitment :)

I've been using the cap of my dry hair shampoo container. Good shout to whoever suggested that :) Effort Is clearly required.

Thanks for the link alice - feels positive that there are options if fertility results aren't the best

Haha london - love the improvisation!

geeup · 29/09/2016 17:18

Someone on a thread a millions cycles ago suggested peeing straight into the OPK sachet (if you're using internet cheapies). Sometimes wee a bit on your fingers but I got pretty accurate with my aim! No pot required.

WingingIt83 · 29/09/2016 17:33

Good work jem!!

MouseLove · 29/09/2016 18:03

Wait.... so people pee in a pot then dip the stick in??

Blush

I've never POAS but I assumed I'd just dip the stick in my pee stream and hope for the best. Grin

sk1pper · 29/09/2016 18:11

Hi all just caught up on the thread, very busy day for me at work today.

I now get why people call IVF a postcode lottery. Why is it like that? It's fucking ridiculous. Everyone deserves the same treatment, I wouldn't be able to afford it.

AlexiaB · 29/09/2016 18:15

That was me Alice glad it's workingGrin

mouse it's impossible to do that with an OPK or cheapie HPT because they're tiny, you can only get pee on a tiny part of it and you need to hold it in the pee for at least 10 seconds.

IVF definitely seems to be a postcode lottery. Hopefully not many of us will actually need it. LSFX!

Nicky883 · 29/09/2016 18:16

Lol jem thats a commitment ! Why not poas in the morning though? Is it more accurate at a different time ? Always took them with fmu
