Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Heh, mine too, normally he just wants a drink of water and goes straight back to sleep.

I really want to conceive #2 before DH changes his mind too!

I am really hoping that Aunt Flo won't be visiting in the next few days! The first time round I did a pregnancy test when my period was due, it was negative. 2 weeks later I fainted and puked on the way to work and it turned out I was pregnant all along. I'm hoping it might be the same this month... Negative test today, positive in a couple more weeks time... as long as Aunt Flo doesn't visit! Or maybe I'm completely deluding myself and it'll take a lot longer this time round.

Writerwannabe83 · 19/09/2016 21:56

mamushka - mine usually wants a drink too but unfortunately his drink comes out my boobs so I have no quick fix Grin I wake up to him screaming at the top of his voice, "I want mummy milk!!!" It's usually between 2-3am and he's generally up for about 30 minutes Sad

It's taken me a long, long time to convince DH to TTC#2 and there's been a lot of hassle regarding it over the last 12-18 months but we finally seem to be on the same page.

I'm just preparing to drag him off to DTD! Grin

Hi - can i join too? I am TTC #3 with 2 DD 4 and 6.
Cycle 3 of trying, cd18, pretty sure it didn't happen this month as i ran out of ovulation sticks and wasn't sure when to dtd!! No idea if / when i ovulated. I guess i will see in the next couple of weeks! Ihad a coil for 4 yrs until June so i am finding getting periods again a bit of a shock and want to have as few as possible that's for sure.....
Told a few people before we started trying which i regret now .... hoping it won't be too long but i am 37 so i know it could take more time now...
good luck everyone.x

Welcome unicorns

I have a DS aged 2.5 and currently trying to TTC#2.

I have had Mirena Coils in the past and like you, having 'normal' periods came as a big shock to my system after the Mirena was removed.

I'm on CD18 tomorrow and I had my positive OPK today. I DTD last night, tonight and will be doing it tomorrow too and then it's just a case of hoping for the best Smile

Still a positive OPK this morning. I think I may have to lay off DTD tonight though as I'm feeling a bit sore and battered this morning Sad

Writer - you're doing well! Looks like a good cycle for you.

Welcome unicorns!

NappingRabbit · 20/09/2016 10:57

Bugger, thought I had a positive OPK first thing this morning but just did another and it's not quite positive. I was expecting it to be stronger. Think I'm definitely heading in the right direction but not there yet. Want it to hurry up and happen so all the DTD over the last few days wasn't wasted! CD19 today and we DTD CD15, 16 and 18. Not sure I can keep DH going much longer, he's worn out.

sk1pper · 20/09/2016 16:44

Napping - yeah it's a complete pain trying to hit that window, esp when you are getting near positive OPKs like that. Hope you get a positive soon.

NappingRabbit · 20/09/2016 18:31

Woop!

Thanks guys for the comments, so busy yesterday I haven't had a chance to come back to the thread. Sooz I hope your appointment went well?

Writerwannabe83 · 20/09/2016 20:23

Well my poor fanjo has been sore today and I've actually had some blood when wiping after a wee on a few occasions today Sad

I got about ten seconds of really sharp, pinching abdominal pain at about 5pm today so I'm assuming I ovulated then? I really, really can't face DTD tonight but kind of feel like I have to....

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 20/09/2016 20:31

Might you have cystitis if you have a bit of blood?

Ouch, poor you. I've been there too by the end of fertile week.

Mumrahhhh · 20/09/2016 20:36

Hmm, I'm starting to feel a bit anxious about whether I'm actually ovulating or not. I have had the watery and ewm and I'm now on cd17, with ovia suggesting I'm out of my fertile window. I had a slight temployment drop yesterday and this morning, but all my opk's are showing negative! I'm going to carry on tracking my temp and hoping for a rise to confirm I've actually ovulate! I do have 1 child, who is now 5, so I certainly did before and I'm only 36... not sure what to think. I'll just keep temping! X

Writerwannabe83 · 20/09/2016 20:48

ali - it's definitely vaginal bleeding. Since my c-section I've found some sexual positions quite painful and I did feel in a bit of pain last night so I'm thinking I might have had a little bit of a trauma injury Blush

I feel had a really shit day at work too so I just feel a bit crap in general.

MotherofUnicorns · 20/09/2016 20:50

I know what you mean about being exhausted! I hope we managed to dtd close enough as I think ovulated yesterday - headache and abdominal pain. But dh was out late so no chance..... should do it tonight I suppose.....Grin so romantic!!

PurpleHaze1 · 20/09/2016 20:50

Hope your DH has the energy for tonight napping Grin

Ouch writer Sad that does sound like it could be cystitis.

Hope you get a temp rise soon mumrahhh

AF has tailed off now so will start temping again. I took a few days off. Will probably start POAS soon too!

NappingRabbit · 20/09/2016 21:03

Writer sounds sore! Give yourself a rest, you've had a good go at it this month.

I've got DH on a promise for tonight so fingers crossed.

Mumrahhhh hope you get some ov signs soon.

Mother it totally loses the romance, this TTC business. DH looked horrified when I asked him to DTD again tonight Grin never thought I'd see the day he didn't want to!

Writerwannabe83 · 20/09/2016 21:05

I've just got home and told DH that after my stressful day I need some gentle stress relieving sex..... Grin

OP posts:
sk1pper · 20/09/2016 21:17

So much DTD at the moment on here :D it's great we're all on similar cycle days.

Writer - don't overdo it if you have bleeding. Make sure the sex is very gentle, gotta look after yourself foremost.

Purple - do you ovulate that close to AF?

Mumrah - yep keep OPK and temping. Are you late this month ovulating?

I think I had ovulation pain in both sides this cycle. Yesterday my left side and today my right...is that even possible?

Mumrahhhh · 20/09/2016 21:31

There is lots of DTD on here, we're busy girls and suffering men, ha ha 😂

I'm not sure when I ovulate, I've never used opk's before. I used them a few days last cycle, but I was camping and it was a bit hit and miss. This month I've tested daily until Sunday, then it's been about 3 times a day the last few days. As I had the temp drop (36.1 to 35.9) I thought I might get a positive. I could see the line a bit this morning but it looked more like I could see it through the layers of the test! I'll have another check before bed and keep temping...

NappingRabbit · 20/09/2016 21:31

I think so sk1pper - possible non-identical twins in your future?!

Writerwannabe83 · 20/09/2016 21:35

I've decided to not have sex tonight as there's probably little point.

I was told that once the egg erupts it only survives for 12 hours and that it takes sperm 8 hours to even reach the Fallopian tubes so unless I had sex by 9pm then by the time the little spermies get up there the egg would be dead anyway! But hopefully it will have been fertilised and not dead Grin

I'm going to do an OPK before bed just to check my surge is definitely over.

OP posts:
NappingRabbit · 20/09/2016 21:41

8 hours? Wow, I didn't know that. I thought they would be super speedy little swimmers. I'm starting to feel a bit twingy on one side. I usually feel ov pain quite clearly for around an hour so don't think it's it yet but pretty sure it will be a left side egg being released.

PurpleHaze1 · 20/09/2016 21:42

No sk1pper, I'm just obsessed! Ha ha! Ovulated CD13 last month, i'm currently CD4...

sk1pper · 20/09/2016 21:58

Mumra - what are you recording it all in out of interest? Are you using an app?

Purple - fair enough, I'm not judging. Do you use cheapies?

Napping - twins...I think I'd die laughing/crying if that happened. Especially this cycle.
