Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

I'm glad we DTD last night as this is my OPK from this morning. I'm not sure if it's positive yet so I will check again this afternoon and then definitely more DTD tonight.

Sorry sk1pper, very frustrating. But as writer says it is for logical reasons.

MundayCakes85 · 19/09/2016 09:21

God boo and writer, that sounds horrendous. I have no experience to help (I'm the opposite- scanty) it must be hard every month.
Good luck to everyone DTD at the moment, don't take no for an answer!
I'm 4dpo and got everything crossed for this month. I remember how much I hated the ttc shenanigans last time. It become all consuming. I am a temper, have also done opks this month, been using conceive plus a few months, more vitamins this month.
Just want a baby bump already!!

SoozC · 19/09/2016 10:18

I have my first one today, Boo! I'm expecting she'll just ask me my history and then hopefully book me in for a scan or something. I'll let you know.

We'll done for pinning him down, Writer! Fx for you this cycle.

sk1pper · 19/09/2016 12:09

Yeah you girls are right, I just need to accept the fact I'm going to loose a cycle. It's a horrible feeling for me but I'm thinking with my heart not my head.

I need to check my potential due date for October cycle too as I think it may be too close after the wedding. I'll check it when I get home, can I run it past you all to see what you think? I'm greatful you are so honest about it.

Feels weird checking due dates for a baby I haven't even conceived yet.

Yeah, that's a really weird thing to do....it's not as if I've been on a website to work out I would be expecting on June 13th if I conceived this month.... Blush Grin Grin

Lol writer you do make me laugh.

The NHS website told me that I'd put in an invalid date, "the date you have entered is in the future." I'm sat here thinking - yes, and??

tanyamumof3 · 19/09/2016 13:04

Hi I am.34 and mum.of 2 girls aged 14 and 6 and a boy 8. Never had a proper cycle. With oldest daughter I didn't know until 21 weeks as had no sickness until then as doc said it was a bug so come in and see her then went into docs and she felt my tummy and found out was around 5-6 months. With my son one morning I couldn't get off the sofa was so tired and a friend told me to test and and although I thought it was a waste of time I did and got bfp. Before we conceived youngest daughter I had a month where af came then next month it didnt come so randomly tested and got bfp. Last af was 9-14th of this month so am I right to test around 12th October if we dtd every other day until then. Haven't got the patience for opk tests tbh

tanya - welcome to the bus and I loved reading your stories about how you found out about your pregnancies!! My friend has got two daughters and with both of them didn't find out until she was about 16 weeks as she was still having periods (she only ever had really light ones) and the only reason it came to light was because she went to see the GP because of how sick, tired and generally ill she was!

Good luck around the 12th - testing around that date sounds pretty good, if not a few days earlier.

My OPK is much stronger this afternoon then it was this evening.

My dad was supposed to be visiting tonight but I've put him off with a really crap reason because I doubt he'd be too impressed if I was honest and said, "Sorry dad, you can't come round as I will be having sex" Grin

*i meant my OPK is much stronger this afternoon than it was this morning Smile

NappingRabbit · 19/09/2016 14:41

I'm jealous writer - I am still getting negative OPKs. I'm still a day earlier than my positive from last month so hopefully they will turn positive tomorrow.

TTC is just waiting and obsessing, sex, then more waiting and obsessing.

sk1pper · 19/09/2016 15:00

How long after an OPK like that do you ovulate? I know it's the surge in LH that releases the egg, im just wondering how quickly it happens.

Writerwannabe83 · 19/09/2016 15:35

Ovulation can occur anywhere between 12-72 hours after a positive OPK. The only way to know for definite when ovulation happens is to temp but I don't do that.

I will DTD tonight and tomorrow to cover all possibilities Smile

OP posts:
PurpleHaze1 · 19/09/2016 17:34

sk1pper I had a positive OPK like writer's on CD12 and then again on the morning of CD13 last month & I know I ovulated on CD13 because I temp. So you can get a positive and ovulate that day, or it can be a day or 2 later.

Welcome tanya Smile

sk1pper · 19/09/2016 18:02

Welcome tanya :)

Writer/Purple - thank you for clarifying, I don't think I've sussed temping yet. I ovulated today but I didn't get the pre-ovulation dip, just a small spike. First month temping though so I'll see what happens next month.

So I've just got home and spent the last 15 mins being a complete nerd trying to work out potential due dates for this cycle and next:

Wedding - 26th June
Due date this cycle - 14th June
Due date next cycle - 8th July

I really, really hate saying it - but I'll have to back-off next cycle too wont I?

Writerwannabe83 · 19/09/2016 18:05

Practically you probably should yes, but I would be tempted to just crack on next month and take the risk Grin

OP posts:
PurpleHaze1 · 19/09/2016 18:20

I don't think everyone gets the dip before ovulation sk1pper so I wouldn't worry about that too much. I've attached my chart from last cycle so you can see what a full cycle looks like. The open circles are thanks to DD deciding to wake me up at ridiculous o'clock! Hmm I still managed to get a clear rise though. Are you using FF?

I agree with writer I'd probably be cracking on too. I suppose it depends how bad it would be for you (financially as well as everything else) if you had to cancel your wedding...?

sk1pper · 19/09/2016 18:40

Well I've only paid £1400 so far, the rest I pay 6 weeks before. We're doing it relatively cheap, I think I could take the hit on the deposit because I know pg would make me so happy. Thanks for your opinions, they mean a lot.

Purple - our charts are very different! I ovulated this morning so you can see a small rise and not sure why happened start of the month lol

Flingmoo · 19/09/2016 19:26

Hiya, I'm new to the bus!

Age 26
TTC #2
Cycle #1
CD 31

DTD when I was SURE I was ovulating. Period is now one day overdue. Poundland pregnancy test said negative today though and I'm too cheap to buy more expensive ones...

First baby I conceived in first month of TTC, I was very laid back as I expected it to take months/years and was surprised it happened so quickly. This time round I feel a lot more uptight as I am expecting/hoping for it to happen instantly again. I think it's going to make me obsessed.

Writer our toddlers are the same age and I remember you from the Sleep board when we were both having problems getting babies to sleep! Crazy that we're both at it a second time round!

NappingRabbit · 19/09/2016 20:16

Mamushka I was exactly the same as you. Expected TTC1 to take ages and fell pregnant first month. This time thought it might happen quickly again but I'm on cycle 3 now so who knows how long it will take. Fingers crossed for you.

PurpleHaze1 · 19/09/2016 20:52

Welcome mamushka

It's crazy how much charts vary from person to person isn't it sk1pper? If you've ovulated, the crosshairs will appear in a couple of days to confirm it. I've found temping so useful, I didn't even bother testing last cycle as it was obvious I wasn't pg as my temps dropped.

Writerwannabe83 · 19/09/2016 20:58

I have so many people on MN tell me they recognise my name from the Sleep Board regarding my DS. I must have really, really, really moaned about him for everyone to remember me Grin

He's still not the best sleeper now, he usually wakes up at least once every night Sad

Purple - ah I was going to ask you about those cross hairs but you've already answered it :) thanks for sharing your graph, it's quite interesting looking at other peoples

Mamushka - welcome!
