Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Bob - welcome! I've told my sister (she's a nurse who works on a premature baby ward so no brainier), and I cracked and told a couple of friends when I got really low after another failed cycle but they are sworn to secrecy. I'm glad I haven't told anyone else now because I'd hate tying to explain this shit to them.

EJ - welcome also! Sounds like you are getting a little carried away with yourself. You're still young, you need to relax and enjoy the love making with your DH. It will make you closer and stronger as a couple and that's a good foundation for when your little one comes along. Stress can really impact your chances of success too. I know it's easy to get all pent up, everyone on this forum has been there but don't drive a wedge between you and DH, he obviously wants to start off quite casual which can is fine. Sometimes it's enough.

Writer - your DH is a trooper! He seems very committed now after you had that argument about #2 a few weeks ago. Ahhh I hope you get your BFP soon.

Bobandweave · 09/09/2016 08:39

Sk1pper - wow lucky you having a knowledgable sis! She will be fab during pregnancy and also when baby has arrived. I've told 1 close friend only but I'm glad I did as feel I may crack otherwise!

EJ - I can totally relate to how you feel. This was me earlier in the year too. I soon realised that the more I pushed, the more my dh backed away so in the end I decided to stop the baby talk for a while and just see how things went. Eventually he came round. I know this can be annoying to hear (and annoyed me when people said it) but time is on your side so you do have some time to relax a little and enjoy being together. Completely understand how upsetting it can be to be constantly asked by people when you will have a baby, it gives me the rage too!

NappingRabbit · 09/09/2016 09:31

We haven't told anyone we're TTC, I don't want the pressure of them wondering whether I'm pregnant yet. When people ask when we will have another I just give a vague answer - I'm not sure yet. Which is true. Who knows how long it will take.

JuvenileScam · 09/09/2016 12:47

Hey everyone, can I join? New to the forums but would be great to have people to chat to about the TTC process.

About me:
Age - 30
TTC #1
Cycle 6
CD8

The only person I've told is my mum a couple of weeks ago, because last time I went to visit she started talking about various things she could do to help "if I ever had kids" and I figured, welp, never going to get a better opening than that. Her only real response was that it took her 6 and a half year so it was best not to stress about it which I think was designed to be comforting but wasn't really. No plans to tell anyone else, I don't want constant questions about it.

sk1pper · 09/09/2016 14:08

Juv - welcome, yeah I'm in a very similar situation to you. Been trying for just over 13 months now and found out (quite by accident) that it took my mum 18 months to conceive me.

Best thing you can do is make your body a conception temple. Vits, exercise, good diet, don't drink or so drugs, etc etc it just makes it easier when you see a Doctor as they can already see you've done your homework. If that makes sense...

Also, it may not take you as long as your mum. Did your mum divulge if she'd had any tests run?

JuvenileScam · 09/09/2016 16:10

Sk1pper - Yeah, makes sense. I'm taking vits and don't drink much anyway (though I think ttc has actually made me drink more...), been trying to exercise more. Anything to help.

I don't think my mum ever had any tests but it's a very long time so you'd think they'd have seen a GP at some point. I know she had very irregular cycles but I've always hoped I'll have more luck as mine are pretty consistently 30-32 days. But there could have been other factors - I'll just have to brace myself for a potentially embarrassing conversation and ask. I know it took my partner's parents several years as well so we should probably chat to them too.

sk1pper · 09/09/2016 17:56

Juv - have you been using OPKs and apps? Just to track your cycle?

Pess · 09/09/2016 18:10

I'm going to join if it's ok, so I don't go mad overthinking things by myself.

So I've been wanting a child for a few years, and finally we decide to start properly testing with sticks, but nothing is happening. Oh and to make matters worse, my sister in law just announced that she's 4 weeks pregnant. Sad

purplebella · 09/09/2016 18:53

Hi everyone! I've been stalking for a while so thought it was about time I made myself known.

ttc#3
Been trying since May

My first 2 were happy accidents but now we are trying I'm imagining every pg symptom going! I'm in a 2ww and I'm hating all this waiting!

JuvenileScam · 10/09/2016 07:18

sk1pper - Yes, been using an app to track periods for years (for various boring reasons I've never been on hormonal birth control) and started temping and using OPKs 3 months ago. Looks like I ovulate every month on CD18ish, so that's been a weight off my mind anyway.

sk1pper · 10/09/2016 09:21

Pess - welcome, it's always hard when family members announce pregnancy but you can't compare yourself to others. Some people are very lucky and conceive first, second, third cycle - others take much longer. I've just accepted that fact now and tried to focus on myself rather than others. This forum a life-saver as you get people in all kinds of different situations, some much better than yourself and some much worse. I hope you find the support you are looking for here.

Purple - welcome, yep the 2ww is the worst, what cycle day are you and do you use pg tests?

Juv - well you seem to be on the right path, you are only cycle 6 so I wouldn't worry yet. After a year, I would consider popping in to see your GP - unlike your mum ;)

MoonlightMojitos · 10/09/2016 13:20

Tentatively watching this bus at the moment... cd8 and last 2 cycles have been short so I'm still hoping for a (end of) September bfp. sk1pper you do make me laugh! I'm off to work at 2 today so I'm currently sat waiting to need to pee so I can opk before I go. It's not happening. I usually wee ALL the time but really don't need to go yet! And can't drink anything for a while before doing it. Sigh.

purplebella · 10/09/2016 13:44

Hi sk1pper thanks for your welcome. Just want to say good luck to everyone.

You all seem to be under alot of pressure. It's ironic cos the more you fret the harder it is cos you're so stressed and it's all you can think about so I really hope you all get your bfp's!

I'm currently 4dpo

purplebella · 10/09/2016 13:52

Sk1pper, i use pg tests if im going out just in case!

MundayCakes85 · 10/09/2016 14:33

Hello all! It's been a long while since I've been on the buses but thought I'd pop on seeing as ttc #2 is taking a while, DD is almost 2 now. Stats are:
Age: 31
TTC #2
Cycle: 5 but came off pill in Feb
CD12, ov somewhere between 15-20

So anyone got any decent tricks to try this month?!

purplebella · 10/09/2016 15:38

Hi Munday, I'm hoping lots of dtd might work! I've picked up alot of tips by stalking other threads. I've also started taking conception vitamins so I'll let you know if it works

I ovulate around day 15-16 so lots of dtd before and after that time Wink

Skee · 10/09/2016 15:54

Hopping over from the September bus!

Age 33
Ttc 1
Cycle 2
CD 5

Stopped take the pill over a year ago in prep. Unfortunately, I need to travel with my job, so I'm away 2-5 nights almost every week. It's making dtd at the right time pretty difficult!

Hoping this is a lucky bus!!

sk1pper loving your meme!

MundayCakes85 · 10/09/2016 17:09

Tried the conception vits and that month I had a 25 day cycle instead of 31. Not sure if that was a coincidence!

purplebella · 10/09/2016 17:22

I hope that doesn't happen to me, Munday! My af can be irregular at the best of times lol. I seem to ovulate (by checking for ewcm) about the same time though

Usernamegone · 10/09/2016 18:25

Can I join the October bus? AF came early this month - boo! However, this means that can now start ttc - yay!

Hi munday, skee and user!

Yeah just trying to cheer everyone up, things are a bit glum at the moment. Definitely going to be some BFPs this month!!

The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!
Skee · 10/09/2016 19:22

Hahahahaha!! Love it Sk1pper - very accurate representation of me, the last few days GrinChocolate

FlashingLights · 10/09/2016 19:59

Hello to everyone who's just jumped on board Smile

sk1pper that's definitely me too! We must have some BFP'S this month!

If AF decides to arrive 10 days early like it just did then I will be on my period for our DS-free romantic weekend away but if not then that weekend will be my FW! So, I'll either be doomed or have perfect timing!

Writerwannabe83 · 10/09/2016 21:39

Got baby bombed by a colleague today. There were three of us who all started trying at the same time and now both of the other two are pregnant and I'm still not. Feeling a bit rubbish about it now Sad
