The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!

Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Well after my super strong OPKs last night and this morning the one I've just done is undoubtedly negative so I guess I'm officially in the TWW..... Exciting!!

Panic over!! I DTD last night and stuck my bum in the air for a bit so hopefully they swam the right way... wow, that's my first ever positive opk....thanks for sharing it ladies!

Sk1pper, I'm using Ovia and fertility friend to track, I'm just comparing them.

I just told my OH that I had a positive ovulation stick and he asked what it meant, I told him it meant there is an egg and asked 'does it need boiling?'...bless him! I can't believe what a few hours makes, I did an opk at about 6.30 and no sign of anything, isn't the body amazing!! Night ladies x

It varies from woman to woman. I had OPKs that were slowly scaling up in colour over the course of a few days. It was very easy to guess when the positive would be. Some people can miss it in just half a day. It's really bizarre, but I guess it would be boring if we were all the same.

Great news mumrahhhh - looks like there will be lots of us in the 2ww together.

Pretty sure my aching was ov pain last night, it built to be more like the usual. DTD again last night so I can't see that we could have done much better in terms of timing this month. I darent get my hopes up though.

We need to start a stats list of all the members....

Blimey, everyone's been busy recently. Writer: I'm impressed by your dedication, your poor bits deserve a rest now. I know how you feel re: bleeding. I've had it a few times too. Have upped the conceive plus lube to help.
Looks like lots of people entering the TWW. Must think of things to occupy us... We'll I'm making a humungus b'day cake for my 1 yo niece. What is everyone else up to?

I can write a list of everyone's AF dates or test dates. Will need to do it when I get home after work though so just post your dates and I'll compile them later.

munday - it's more an injury from cervix bashing as opposed to friction Don't they say the cervix drops really low during ovulation hence why it can get bashed quite a lot

OK, so back to opk (again I hear you say)... I had a very strong opk this morning and a possible temp rise (35.9 yesterday and 36.3 this morning) however, my temp this morning was slightly later and my ds woke woke up 45 mins before I due to take my normal bbt (from waking) so I had to get up and see to him. 2 questions, should I discard today's temp and would the opk still show positive if I've already ov'd?

Sk1pper, I forgot to say I'm on cycle 2.

My understanding is that the positive OPK predicts ovulation (12-36hrs) in advance of it happening so I don't think you can get a positive OPK after you've ovulated. Last month I had a positive OPK first thing on CD13 & temps confirmed I ovulated that day though so it can be the same day. Iyswim?

Boo, my appt went well, thanks. She asked me if I'd had any kids/miscarriages, any history of pcos etc. Gave me blood test sheets for cd3 and cd21 bloods for various different things to take to hospital. Gave DP sperm analysis sheet for a local hospital when he gets a sample. It was very chilled and she was lovely and I'm pleased I have the ball rolling. I'm focusing on cd3 bloods so waiting for af rather than concentrating on my fw and 2ww.

Period is due today. Had lots of raised-then-dashed hopes so would normally wait for the weekend to test, but we have house guests arriving tomorrow and then no chance of privacy for a month.

Don't know if I should test in the morning and hope, or wait for the weekend. All made worse by the fact said guests will all expect me to drink so I might be playing the fake drink game with no purpose. (Sorry for the whinge)
