The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!

Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Alibaba - welcome, thanks for sharing your vits, supplements and food tips. I'm always interested in this kind of stuff. What is the raspberry leaf tea good for? Also are you taking EPO capsules? I wasn't that impressed with them but when I upped my dosage to two a day I could really notice the difference with my CM.

Vox - sorry to see you again :( it's tough juggling career with maternity. Some people want both, some people don't. There's no reason why you can't have both so you need to look at your options, even if you got pregnant this month it will still have 9 months to get stuck in and a responsible employer can't deny you the opportunity even if you are pregnant.

Rasp leaf tea tones the uterus. I think it's more effective in capsules. Are there any success stories of conceiving out there?

I've upped my epo dosage to two capsules daily too. I take the solgar ones which are 1300mg.

I've noticed a small difference. I don't get much ewcm but did get some before AF weirdly enough.

Hi vox - I know how you feel. At the end of last year, not long after DH had decided to TTC, a really fantastic opportunity came up for me at work and I was so torn as to what to do. Whilst in the decision making process I fell pregnant straight away and for unrelated reasons the career opportunity then fell through. Unfortunately I had an early miscarriage and a few weeks after that a promotion opportunity can't up at work which I decided to go for as I thought it would give me something new to focus on instead of feeling so sad all the time. I had the job interview but didn't get it so DH turned out minds back to TTC.

And then, last month another fantastic opportunity arose for me at work, the chance to develop a really fantastic and exciting new role which I'm going ahead with because 5 months into TTC nothing has happened and I know I can't put my life on hold.

It's so hard making work/pregnancy decisions but what will be will be so just grab every opportunity you can and if a pregnancy arises in the middle of things then you can worry about it then. Life has a way or working out

Today is the first day of my FW so I may attempt to jump on DH tonight but we're both exhausted from two heavy days at work.

Alibaba - I may get down to Holland and Barrets to get the raspberry tea capsules. Maybe if I fail this cycle, normally I introduce another positive thing when I don't conceive so I feel like I'm doing something. CD9 at the moment :) ovulation was late last month so I'll be testing with OPKs from tomorrow just to be sure. Good luck too xx

I'm very sorry about your MC, I can't imagine how difficult that must have been for you. I'm surprised by how common it is, I always thought it was rare but it's just one of the many things I've learnt from MM.

I'm on cycle 14 so have been trying just over a year.

Last month was the first cycle after I had the Mirena coil removed and according to OPK I ovulated on CD 12-13. Expected test date will probably be around 10th October. Anyone testing around then?

For anyone who saw my post in Sept bus thread, I'm awaiting results from a cervical biopsy (following an abnormal smear result in July) but I was given a very nearly all clear by the doc during the procedure so being impatient, we decided to get the coil out and go ahead with a "see what happens" attitude. Here I am tracking on Ovia and Dot, using OPKs and taking rasp leaf tea and EPO in the menstrual phase...

Sorry to see some September passengers are still on the road but fx this is the bus!

First day of my FW and no sex had as neither myself or DH have the energy for it!!

I will definitely have it tomorrow though

I'm a bit nervous though about conceiving this month because if I do then at 6 weeks pregnant I will be on a two day course with work and at 8 weeks pregnant I will be on holiday with some family.

I don't fancy having early pregnancy sickness/fatigue in either of those situations...

But, that means that Sod's Law will ensure that I conceive this month

Yes writer, Sod's law is definitely the way to do this, I'm sure of it. Imagine if we both get BFPs, how I'll laugh.

Writer I'm at the same stage as you - first day of FW yesterday according to Ovia but both of us too tired to do anything about it. Will make up for it tonight!

Well I just waved DH off to work and told him that baby making starts tonight

He gave a little smile but was probably thinking "FFS!" in his head because he's feeling pretty ill at the moment

I'm expecting a positive OPK next Wednesday, on the 20th, so I may start OPK'ing from tomorrow onwards.

OPKing from today too :) expecting positive Friday next week maybe, has been all over the place lately.

How's everyone doing on the October bus? Urgh I hate being out of the September bus so early.

Was working last night so having a slob evening with a glass of wine. Think I'm in the TWW now. DTD leading up to O (yesterday I think) but not yesterday.
FX we did enough. Who knows. We seem to hit the right time each month but nothing working so far.

Only on CD 2 and felt weirdly "up" and motivated yesterday but today the cramps and effect of pre-period poor sleep have got me feeling a bit glum. Work is stressful right now so trying to get some done tonight - working from home on a Friday night is guaranteed to start a self pity party!

I agree it's kind of weird to be on the October bus so early, kind of emphasises the waiting ahead I think...
