Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

That's what ill do too, if I ever get a BFP...

The cheapies are super reliable I just think people try to use them too early. You need early response ones if you want to test earlier.

Purplefairy21 · 12/09/2016 14:04

I'm lurking on here just in case, I'm not convinced September is our month but the idea of 2 June babies makes me think about my bank balance and cry lol. I got pg in October with ds.

Me9an · 12/09/2016 15:23

Thanks for your help Writer !! I will give them a go then! Is it best to do them in the afternoon ? Need to work out a way to sneak off at work!

Writerwannabe83 · 12/09/2016 15:42

The LSH surge can happen really quickly so I do them at least twice a day, one early morning at about 9am and then another at about 5pm. When I start reaching CD16/17 I do them three times a day.

I once went from a completely negative OPK, to a really strong positive 6 hours later to then going back to being negative another 5/6 hours later.

If they're only being done once a day it can be really easy to miss the LSH surge happening and then people wrongly believe they haven't ovulated when it fact they just missed it.

Wow Writer. I didn't even know that was possible!!! These threads have been such an education for me!!! I will follow your system, anything that makes me feel like I'm doing something positive to help!

Writerwannabe83 · 12/09/2016 16:30

The thing to remember though is that women usually always have LSH in their system regardless of where they are in their cycle so there will usually always be a second line when testing but the result is only positive if the second line is as dark as the control line, or darker.

We all enjoy posting photos of our OPKs as well as HPTs so we can scrutinise those lines too Grin

I get LH surge for at least 12-48 hours so always very easy for me. I just do it in my fertile week as soon as I'm gone from work.

As writer says, I'm sure we can all post photos od our OPKs if that helps you :)

Wifey1990 · 12/09/2016 17:46

Ladies need a chat with people who understand.
Had my fertility appointment said hormones everything fine. I had my tubes unblocked 14th July. Tubal surgery is not highly effective the doc said IVF is my best option to try and conceive and basically wrote me off, I pushed for a hycosy again in 4 months to see if the tubes are still open. I can either pay 5 grand or 2 and half depending on if I do egg donation (100% would if I could help another person). I just feel so shit!!!

Writerwannabe83 · 12/09/2016 18:15

Hi wifey - sorry to hear you're feeling so shit Flowers

My colleague found out aged 25 that she had blocked tubes and would never be able to conceive naturally. Her and her DP underwent various fertility tests/procedures and she's now 30 weeks pregnant after a successful first attempt at IVF.

What is hycosy?

Thank you writer and skipper, I'm sure I will be posting pics for advice !

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time wifey xx

Wifey1990 · 12/09/2016 18:43

I'm just 26. Could do with losing a few extra pounds. Hycosy internal scan where the push fluids through your tubes.

Yawninghippo · 12/09/2016 19:12

Hi all! Can I join?

I've just come off the patch and will hopefully be officially TTC in a couple of months though we aren't using contraception and are going with 'if it happens now, that's ok.'

I was on a thread here back in March and then found I was pregnant. Sadly I ended up having a stress induced medical termination caused by severe prenatal depression.

My OH and I have also just been cleared by the genetic team at Guys after counselling and so we're ok to try again, my GP is also ready to help if the prenatal depression hits again. Guess I'm just feeling quite nervous in case it goes wrong or if it's harder to conceive because of terminating. I'm excited but still have a lot of emotions bubbling up.

purplebella · 12/09/2016 19:13

So sorry to Wifey, sounds really tough Flowers

I just downloaded the Ovia app, brilliant stuff!Grin

I have a burning sensation on left side and the app says I'm due on in 7 days, maybe next month eh?!

sk1pper · 12/09/2016 20:56

Wifey - sorry to hear about your troubles, some days are utter crap. How long have you been TTC?

Yawning - welcome!!

Purple - I've just started using Ovia but someone on mumsnet said FF is better so I'm using both (alongside Clue which I've been using from the start). I've heard Ovia can be brutal with its predictions.

purplebella · 12/09/2016 22:04

Thanks sk1pper I shall download that one tomorrow!

SoozC · 13/09/2016 21:48

I'm booking my place on this bus as I am in limbo - around 16dpo, no af but bfns. Fully expecting af soon though as I don't really have any pregnancy symptoms. I'm 35, DP is 47, ttc #1, cycle #7.

I use ff. Used Ovia for a while but I prefer ff. I paid for a year of the pro version, as I am sad enough to enjoy numerous stats, and kind of hoping to tempt fate but that failed!!

sk1pper · 13/09/2016 22:04

Hi sooz, yeah must say enjoying FF a lot more at the moment but will give it another cycle or two before I decide which to drop.

I'm impressed you're not symptom spotting like mad. :) do you temp check? I started doing it a week ago but I'm sure I'm doing it wrong.

MundayCakes85 · 14/09/2016 13:08

Very strong positive opk this morning. Have DTD 3 days in a row so far. Bloody knackered!! Will go again tonight, but on a night shift tomorrow. Hoping we'll have done enough by then Wink

MrsLoz · 14/09/2016 13:38

Hello

I'm here to join the October bus.

30
TTC#1
Cycle 2
CD2
Expected POAS 11th October

Wishful thinking that cycle 1 would be any success, at least now I'm on cycle two I can't get told off by the midwife for not waiting for a natural period after coming off the pill!

SoozC · 14/09/2016 15:14

Hi, sk1pper, I'm sure I'm not preggers so it's easy not to symptom spot or poas! Haven't for the last two days but will have to tomorrow as not-knowing is freaking out my DP!

I didn't temp this cycle as I was on holiday for part of it but wish I had now as I don't know when exactly I o'd and can't tell if my higher temps yesterday and today indicate possible pregnancy. I have yelped previously and found it really interesting and helpful.

SoozC · 14/09/2016 15:15

Yelped? Grin I meant temped, of course!

sk1pper · 14/09/2016 16:29

Well I think I've got to the bottom of mine because it says online that you can get a peak if you drink alcohol the day before. And that correlates exactly with when I thought "fuck my healthy regime" and then proceeded to drink 2/3rds of a bottle of wine. It's normalising now a bit but there are still peaks and troughs. I just hope it's noticeable when I ovulate :)

FlashingLights · 14/09/2016 20:02

Oh interesting!! I got my positive OPK's the day after a bottle of wine and 4 G&Ts last month. Then a negative the day after. I didn't do any more OPK's after that. I wonder if I did ovulate that day or if it was a booze fuelled positive?

I still feel so confused with my cycle since having the implant removed, I know it's still early days but I'm really hoping I don't have another 23 day cycle!

Alibaba2 · 14/09/2016 20:13

Hello,

Can I join?

I'm cd1 today after what seemed like a very promising 10-11dpo: spotting, fever, chills, fatigue, heartburn, restless legs. I was convinced!

Ah well, I've treated myself to VIP Fertility Friend!

I'm ttc#3
MC 3rd May
26 day cycles
Ov around cd12
AF due 11 Oct

I take: pregnacare, ubiquinol, vit c, spatone, Royal jelly
Pre-ov: raspberry leaf tea, grapefruit juice, 75mg aspirin, epo. Running.
During: preseed
Post-ov: fresh pineapple, Brazil nuts. Lots of walking.

I think that's it Smile

Thanks to whoever mentioned pomegranate juice. Something new to try!

voxnihili · 14/09/2016 21:21

Hopping over from September. Age 32, TTC #1, cycle 4 of properly trying, but ditched the contraception over a year ago. Trouble is that I'm now having a complete wobble. This has coincided an opening on the next step on my career ladder. I straight away thought that if I got the job, I'd probably conceive straight away. Instead of an excitement, I was filled with dread. Now I don't know what I want.
