Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Congrats mumrahh and thingy this is looking to be quite a lucky bus so far.

Bfn this morning for me at 10dpo. AF isn't due until later this week so I'll test again in a few days

Alibaba2 · 02/10/2016 12:25

Rose, ignore the tests and go with what your body is telling you. The tests could be wrong and even if there was a positive, it doesn't mean you definitely ov. The only way to know is by temping. If you have a bbt thermometer and take your temp first thing tomorrow, we could make a guess as to whether you've ov'd or not.

Keep dtd every other day and look out for progesterone signs....

Mumrahhhh · 02/10/2016 12:27

Rosebud, sorry to hear you feeling do down. Temping has really helped me, my cycles have varied from 22 days to 33 since coming off the pill in March. We didn't start actively trying until August, as I wanted 'get to know my body agaun' ha, that didn't work! I know you say you won't be able to time it right in October, but temp anyway....otherwise you'll have nothing to compare November to.

I've not known at all this month what my temp is telling me, I've had to let fertility friend work that one out for me. Turns out I ovulated really late this month and I wouldn't have known that if I hadn't have temped and used the opk. Keep using the opk's, I was cd18 this month (although first month using them so not sure if this is normal for me or not). Good luck for the future, try and keep calm (learn some breathing techniques, it really helps to calm). X

RoseBud1987 · 02/10/2016 14:02

I'll do my temp tomorrow morning. Can I take it using a ear thermometer? I know there will be nothing to go against but maybe you geniuses (not meant sarcastically at all, I actually think you're all very clever with your temping and vitamins) will be able to tell me something.

Alibaba2 · 02/10/2016 14:26

It should be a bbt thermometer. I think chemists sell them. And Amazon. They're a few quid. They're more accurate and have 2 decimal places. I reckon I could make a guess based on that. But it has to be after at least 3 hours sleep before you even lift your head.

RoseBud1987 · 02/10/2016 14:30

I have one in the cupboard but think the battery has died. Will check later.

Thingymaboob · 02/10/2016 14:45

I have been using opks since the very beginning. Never ever got a positive. BFP yesterday. Used as directed every day this month. Never saw a surge (boots own brand). I could always tell because of my cervical mucous. Thin, watery and really cold!
I also did my first pregnancy test 2days before AF due - negative. Positive day period was due. Doing those early tests are expensive and make for disappointment imo.
Thanks to all for letting me tag this thread

RoseBud1987 · 02/10/2016 14:51

Thingy I tend to track my ovulation through mucus too but find the OPs very reliable. I've also had early positives on pregnancy tests with both pregnancies. DD was 4 days before AF due and the MC was 3 days before AF due. This is why I'm so upset because they have never been wrong for me before. In fact I knew my miscarriage was happening a couple of days before it did as tests were getting lighter. It's a good job that there's a few ways of tracking ov as everyone seems to be different.

Alibaba2 · 02/10/2016 14:56

When did you MC Rose?

RoseBud1987 · 02/10/2016 15:07

Ali July, this is cycle #2 since. I don't know if I ovulated after MC bit I definitely ovulated last month.

Writerwannabe83 · 02/10/2016 15:21

Feeling really sad today. My period is due tomorrow and a total BFN this morning. I'm at work and have nearly been in tears a few times. I'm just so disheartened - I just don't understand why it isn't happening. Feeling so low Sad

I am 38 and have a 5 Year old DD
she was a clomid baby
we have just started the first of 2 rounds of Clomid. I am now on 7DPO
and feeling sick with sore boobs and cramps.
I will wait to test
Anyone else on clomid?

Alibaba2 · 02/10/2016 15:32

Rose, maybe things are still adjusting after the MC. One of my first cycles after MC, ov was delayed by 4 days.

But the fact you've had ov pains makes me think it's already happened...

Flappergirl86 · 02/10/2016 15:44

Oh my little gorillas :( there's nothing anyone can say that you dont already know and wouldn't already say to someone in your own shoes. Be kind to yourself and don't lose hope cos it'll happen eventually one way or multiple others xx

Congratulations to those with BFPs! You give us all hope. I'm on the last day or 2 of my fertile window today. Let's hope Mr Flapper can produce the goods this evening. Of all the conceiving hurdles I'd planned for...

RoseBud1987 · 02/10/2016 15:45

Ali I normally get pains before ov. I don't know what's going on down there. We DTD Tuesday night, so if I have hopefully some have stuck around. Because I bounced back quite quick after the MC I just guessed that all was ok. Maybe I need to stop expecting so much of myself. Thank you for being so supportive and talking me through my self pity.

Dizzy not on Clomid but have PCOS, so could be on it one day.

Writer not for the same reasons but I feel exactly the same. Feeling totally robbed. Been horrible to DH today (he has deserved some of it though).

Catlady100 · 02/10/2016 15:58

Hi all, can I join please. Here are my details (hopefully I've got the shorthand right!)

Age: 37
Cycle: 1 (after MMC in July)
CD12
No children

Fingers crossed x Cat x

voxnihili · 02/10/2016 16:03

Hi. I've not really been on bus this month - kind of put it all to the back of my mind. I've had quite a stressful month and we only DTD once. Ovia shifted my fertile week forward 7 days based on EWCM and what should have been the first day of FW became the last so may have missed our chance, although we did DTD on the last day. I didn't get any ovulation pains this month though which are normally very noticeable so don't think I will have conceived. I got rid of all my HPTs as it was making me obsessive. Friday will be the last day of my normal cycle length window (I'm irregular but usually only by about 5 days). If there's nothing by Saturday I'll get a test. Good luck everyone.

MotherofUnicorns · 02/10/2016 16:36

Writer I'm sorry to hear you're so low. I have had 3 bfns this month but still no AF. Also feeling v Confused and just want to move forward. It will happen, this is the worst bit isn't it? ?

misstiggiwinkle · 02/10/2016 16:38

Just been to the loo and I'm spotting, only a tiny bit but it's definitely there and I've been a bit crampy this afternoon. My bfps haven't been getting darker either and I would have expected them to by now particularly as I'm 16dpo now.

I was desperate for this one to stick. Looks like I might be out though

Thingymaboob · 02/10/2016 17:22

Misstiggie, I had some light spotting day of my BFP. All you can do is relax and wait. I hope it all goes well!
Writer and mother of unicorns, I know how you feel. Tears when my period arrived and overwhelming rage when people got pregnant "accidentally". It's an awful feeling but the most important thing is to relax. I hated people saying that to me. I made a conscious effort to relax this month and have been having acupuncture this month. The evidence for the effectiveness of acupuncture & fertility is overwhelming.

SoozC · 02/10/2016 18:39

Big hugs, writer.

Tiggi, thinking of you. Try not to panic, I'm sure everything is fine. I've read lots of women spot and go on to have healthy babies. Hugs to you too and fx.

Writerwannabe83 · 02/10/2016 19:56

The whole thing is just rubbish. I've been such a moody cow at work today and have felt irritated by everything and everyone. I can't tell if it's because my period is due and I have the rage, or whether it's because I'm just so desperately sad about it all. My DH is out the country during October's FW so it isn't as though I can even look forward to my next cycle. I'm just so fed up.

Aw writer! How long have you been ttc?

NappingRabbit · 02/10/2016 20:03

Sorry writer Sad

tiggi I had spotting all through my first trimester with DS. The sonographers who did my numerous early scans told me that it's not normal, but very common, if that makes sense. It doesn't necessarily mean the end. Good luck.

Thingymaboob · 02/10/2016 20:04

If your DH is away next month, spend it doing relaxing things. I honestly swear by acupuncture!
