Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Sorry to all those who have been caught by AF Sad

Looks like my stats will probably change as no sign on OPKs of imminent ovulation. I'm on CD12 & ovulated CD13 last month. I'd had a positive OPK by this time last cycle. Anyway, hopefully it'll happen in the next few days. Will continue to DTD in the meantime Smile

PurpleHaze1 · 28/09/2016 19:32

I see something too napping! Test again in the morning & let us know Grin

purplebella · 28/09/2016 19:38

Good luck for tomorrow, napping Flowers

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 19:42

Napping I see it too but looks like an eBay line. Defo try again in the morning.

Purple any help with the vits is appreciated. I think I need to really focus on what's going in to my body. Everyone seems to know so much about what vits to take advantage what foods to eat and apart from avoiding peas and green tea I know nothing.

sk1pper · 28/09/2016 19:43

napping go out and get an early response right now! okay I can wait for tomorrow, let us know Grin

Mumrahhhh · 28/09/2016 19:44

I read about the vitamin a too, you're OK with the non-retinol type (I think, but please check online). If you're taking them before you know you're pg, I guess it's fine, like everything else (coffee, wine etc) you might not know! But once you have a bfp, swap to specialist vits as they only have the correct sort of vitamin a (or none in moat cases) .

Good luck napping!!!

purplebella · 28/09/2016 19:45

Mrs, I know what you mean! I only know what I know from all my hours of stalking other MN threads! (Avoiding peas?!)

NappingRabbit · 28/09/2016 19:47

Thanks all, glad it's not entirely in my head! Will do an FRER in the morning. Spotting is less heavy this evening than it was earlier but it may just be my body playing tricks on me. God I hate the uncertainty!

sk1pper · 28/09/2016 19:50

MrsPositive - The green tea thing is a little bit of a myth, it doesn't decrease your fertility per se, it just decreases your body's ability to absorb folic acid. You can drink it but make sure its like 3-4 hours after or before you take your prenatal vitamins. Also, it has caffeine in it. Some people completely strip caffeine from their diet while trying to conceive. I haven't because I enjoy it but you just need to make sure to have no more than 200mg a day which is one cup of coffee or three cups of tea (depending on how long you let it stew).

There is the option to get decaff of course, but make sure you get organic decaff - they can't guarantee its 100% caffeine free but it will be much, much better for you . I wont go into the details, but to make non-organic tea decaff, they basically bleach the leaves with chemicals.

sk1pper · 28/09/2016 19:53

Also, if you like fruit teas - the raspberry leaf tea I got today was delicious. So I can totally vouch for it, 50 bags for about £3.49 in Holland and Barrett - I promise I don't work there I just buy everything there and the staff are really helpful.

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 20:00

Oh Sk1pper I didn't realise about coffee.... Blush it's a good job I have you ladies to tell me these things!!!! (I had more than a cup today whoops)

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 20:09

Sk1pper I was some what of a green tea addict. I could easily drink 8 cups a day, so had to cut down.

Purple I can't remember exactly what was wrong with peas but I povr them, so as with green tea cut down on them.

I think it's amazing how women use Vitamins and food at different times of the month. Was reading up on pineapple earlier, so shall be eating a couple on the weekend.

Tinkerbell2319 · 28/09/2016 20:20

Good luck for tomorrow napping!

Sk1pper it sounds like a visit to Holland and Barretts is on the cards for me then :P ive always found the staff there helpful too :)

Just had a sharp twingey pain on lower right hand side of my belly... Hard to tell whether I'm just being a nutter or if that was ov pain how long does it usually last? This was only for a couple of minutes... I really am a bit clueless about most of this stuff lol feel like I've learned loads in the last couple of months but still a way to go

** I've never read much around the vitamins so didn't know about vitamin A but am taking vitamins branded for conceiving anyway because I wasn't sure - I use myfitnesspal though and my vitamin A intake just from diet is usually waaaayyy over the RDA ... Is it worth trying to reduce it?

I've been trying to reduce caffeine a bit the last couple of months as I was having too much by miles before whereas now I still almost always have black coffee first thing in the morning and before the gym but I've switched to decaf for the rest of the day and some of them are actually not terrible haha, didn't know it should be organic though so will have a browse!

Writerwannabe83 · 28/09/2016 20:36

My ovulation pain is agonising. It's so sharp and radiates across my entire abdomen. It only lasts for about ten seconds but it feels like someone has stabbed me and is twisting the knife. If I'm standing up and doing something the pain actually stops me in my track, I have to literally just stand there taking deep breaths until the pain subsides. It's awful.

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 20:37

Tinkerbell the only reason it needs to be organic is because the process used to decaffeinate coffee uses chemicals. I bought Douwe Egbert's decaf and it gave me headaches. I went on their website and they use chemicals. The organic coffee's use water to decaffeinate. I only learnt this a couple of weeks ago.

I think I'll try a different preconception vitamin then. I know Pregnancare have Vitamins that others don't but I can't feel like this much longer. I want my body back. Can anyone recommend a different brand?

NappingRabbit · 28/09/2016 20:41

Tinkerbell my ovulation pain feels like very localised trapped wind and lasts for a couple of hours. Uncomfortable but not properly painful. It seems to vary quite a lot from person to person.

sk1pper · 28/09/2016 20:45

I'm the same as Napping, feels like trapped wind. I didn't recognise it before TTC because it was so similar but always get it a day after my positive OPK.

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 20:50

OMG. So I was just about to ask... I've taken some paracetamol. Belly ache has gone (I know, how stupid I haven't taken any before now) but I've been left with a bubbly feeling in my lower tummy. Like someone is popping bubbles. Feels like trapped wind, probably is... but I'm sure my body is seriously finding things to wind me up with.

MissMagpie · 28/09/2016 21:05

Thanks everyone for your comments. I am feeling a bit better and reassured too. I already have a nearly 2 year old son so know I can conceive but my body and cycle has changed since having him so I am learning all over again!

Let's fill this bus with positive thoughts eh?!

Mumrahhhh · 28/09/2016 21:09

tinkerbell when you conceive you shouldn't have things like liver or pate that contain high levels of retinol (I think its non soluable ao stays in your system and pass it onto baby, but not sure of full details) but once you conceive, speak to your gp/nurse about your diet if you're worried about the vitamin a. You get the good vitamin a (soluable) from carrots, so I think some vits contain beta carotene.

Mrs positive I've tried the 7 seas conception tablets (only about £3.59 on amazon) and just started on something called pregnazone (or something like that!)

but they are expensive but contain the omega 3, so thought I'd give them a go.

On the symptom spotting front, my boobs are killing me and I swear they have grown, but I'm only dpo6, so must be in my head! My temp was still risen today, in fact it got higher, so staying hopeful checking my knickers for slime and maybe spots??? Ovia says to test in 6 days but I didn't ovulate until cd17, so not sure if it will be too soon, only one way to check I guess Grin

purplebella · 28/09/2016 21:10

Mrs, I use the Superdrug preg vits, no problems to report! I take one first thing in the morning, don't know if that means anything! Tried evening primrose oil for more watery cm but I didn't notice a difference

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 21:31

Purple I read a different thread where a woman said EPO dried up her CM. Everyone's different though and she's probably a rare case. We use Prepared as we have to use lube every time.

Mumrahhh perfectly plausible. With #1 we DTD on the Wednesday and I woke up with horrendously sore boobs and nipples on the Friday. Thought AF was coming early. Had an implant bleed on the following Wednesday so my boobs hurt before the egg had even implanted.

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 21:35

I don't have a Superdrug near me. Might see if Tesco have their own. I can pick them up when I do my shopping then.

Tinkerbell2319 · 28/09/2016 21:48

I use seven seas conception vitamins and they've been fine with me so far :) been taking them about three months or so

Mum I don't eat pate my vitamin A is mostly from veg eg sweet potatoes is that ok?
