Hi guys, just starting the October bus.

I'm almost 33, have a DS (2.5 years) and am now trying for DC2. I caught pregnant on cycle 1 but unfortunately had an early miscarriage and am now entering cycle 5.

My current situation is that DH has been changing his mind over the last 12 months to wanting to try for another, then not wanting to, then wanting to etc and it's been very difficult. We have now come to the compromise that we can actually try up until next August but if nothing has happened by then we stop TTC.

I'm on CD3 now, I usually ovulate around days 17/18 and have cycles of around 31/32 days.

Good luck to everyone!!! Flowers

Captainwarbeck makes sense! That's reassuring thank you Smile

So my pain got really bad, worst of my life second to labour. I went to out of hours GP who did tests and I am not pregnant (yes, I know that!) and don't have an infection. Was told to take ibuprofen and go to see my Dr if it hadn't got better by the morning.

Had an awful night of pain disrupted sleep so went to see my GP this morning and he said it's most likely an ovarian cyst.

Never had this before so surprised and a bit concerned. He said it is probably a one off, prescribed stronger anti inflammatories and said it shouldn't affect my fertility. I forgot to ask if he means this month or in general.

Puzzling thing is that I don't think I have even ovulated yet this month. Have had no EWCM like usual. I hate this conception lottery - it's so uncertain!

Mumrahhhh · 28/09/2016 13:18

Wow, it's busy on here again.

Hello to all the new peeps.

Sk1pper, hope the 10% feeling is right for you! I tried raspberry leaf tea when i was nearly due to give birth, as it said it can sometimes bring on early labour and I was due for induction, the review i read anout conception didnt seem certain so ive avoided it. Ive drank nettle and peppermint this month (one cup before bed). Also did you say something about dra of vitamin c??

Hmm, I bought some new vits, thought I was getting a bargain as 60 tablets, got the box and you have to rate 2 a day!! Darn it!

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 13:28

MissMagpie that happened to me long before trying for DD. I spent a Saturday night in A&E thinking that I had a burst cyst. They said there was nothing they could do and told me to go to the GP for an ultrasound referral on the Monday. GP was fairly certain that the pain was due to ovulation. I went for my ultrasound and there was no evidence of a burst cyst so perhaps GP was right and it was ovulation. This pain was horrendous. I couldn't even walk.

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 13:30

And no it shouldn't affect your fertility. Cysts are perfectly normal.

NappingRabbit · 28/09/2016 13:31

Oh shame writer - at least your chances of seeing a line increase by the day now. My plan has been to wait til Fri but I may do a cheeky one tomorrow to torture myself.

MissMagpie · 28/09/2016 14:02

Thanks MrsPositiveAttidude2016 (anyone know how to tag rather than just write names?!).
I will act as normal in terms of ttc and hope for the best. The prescription painkillers are at least helping with the pain so I can do more than lie down pathetically!

MouseLove · 28/09/2016 14:18

MissMagpie it's just bold text. You can do that by putting * ether side of the word or using the T type options. Smile

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 14:25

Magpie not sure you can. I think that's why everyone shortens it. It would help if idiots like me didn't didn't pick really long names.

Try not to think the worst. I was 18 when they first found cysts on my ovaries and I had DD just before my 28th birthday. I went almost a decade thinking that my chances of having children were low. I even told my DH when we met that I may not be able to have children and that it would be a long road if we did manage to have them. I'm not sure how much you know about it all but every woman has cysts on her ovary. Women with PCOS get more cysts and they don't always disappear after ovulation. If you have got a cyst and it is causing you problems then it doesn't mean that it will have any lasting affect. Just rest up and do what you can.

Sorry if this makes no sense but DD is kicking off because her toys aren't doing what she wants them to do.

Mumrahhhh · 28/09/2016 14:25

Hope you feel better soon missmagpie

Vanillaradio · 28/09/2016 14:53

missmagpie I have cysts on both my ovaries and have done for sometime (if I manage to get pregnant they will probably be coming out with the baby in a planned cs!) They certainly didn't affect my fertility as I got pregnant with ds first time trying. The doctor I see advised me not to have them out till my family completed as she felt my fertility would be more at risk from the op than leaving them there. I hope you are feeling better soon.CakeChocolate

NappingRabbit · 28/09/2016 15:55

Hope you feel much better soon missmagpie.

Spotting is heavier this afternoon. Feeling pretty gutted.

MotherofUnicorns · 28/09/2016 16:04

Sorry to hear that Napping Rabbit. i am also due with AF today and having felt nothing all day am now a bit crampy. boo.

Mumrahhhh · 28/09/2016 16:07

nappingrabbit and motherofunicorns big hugs Brew

Lulu298 · 28/09/2016 16:52

Hope AF stays away mother and napping.

Think I'm going to try the extra Vit C too this month. What's the higher dosage you need to take?

Also bit belated but great news about getting your fertility appt sk1pper and that it feels like a weight has been lifted.

SoozC · 28/09/2016 17:26

Big hugs, Napping and Mother. It is natural to feel down. Lots of wine and chocolate if af does turn up.

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 18:05

Been doing some reading on vitamins today. I'm thinking of switching to normal multi vitamins with a separate folic supplement and also changing DH to a normal multi vit too. Before I go standing in the vitamin isle comparing boxes can anyone tell me what's the difference between normal vitamins and preconception vitamins? Is there much difference or are they a completely different ball game? I've been taking Pregnancare for 7 months now where as I started taking them 2 weeks before conceiving DD. As I said before I have issues with these tablets anyway, so wondering if they're having a bigger affect than I previously thought.

purplebella · 28/09/2016 18:57

Normal vitamins have vit A which is bad for babies/conception
prenatal ones have more amount of vits that you need ( normal has 100% nrv but prenatal has 200%)

purplebella · 28/09/2016 18:59

Prenatal have more relevant vits for conception/pregnancy

MrsPositiveAttidude2016 · 28/09/2016 19:11

I thought the whole vitamin A thing was just in large quantities.

NappingRabbit · 28/09/2016 19:11

Sorry Mother, it's so disappointing isn't it?

I decided to torture myself by POAS when I got home from work (in case AF turns up overnight and I don't get a chance - I know, logic fail). I think I am seeing what I want to see and clinging to a last shred of hope, but there may be the faintest shadow of a line. Will test with FMU tomorrow, trying not to be too hopeful.

The October Bus - hoping for lots of BFPs and Summer babies!!
MotherofUnicorns · 28/09/2016 19:27

Do it again in the morning and it should be stronger ... good luck!!!

sk1pper · 28/09/2016 19:27

Writer - I am also completely ashamed to admit (especially as its out of character for me) that I did a test yesterday at 8dpo, with an Internet cheapie and obviously got a BFN. I may as well just go outside and empty my whole bag into the trash, it would save me time. Grin

MissMagpie - Maybe your ovary was trying release the egg and that was the cause of the intense pain, how are you feeling now? Have the anti inflammatories helped?

Mumrahhh - I bought the tea today, its actually delicious so am happy to swap it out for my normal green tea. Vitamin C is good for the luteal phase (its good for you generally too), I bought an additional supplement as Pregnacare only has about 70mg in it and I think you can have up to 700mg. I also got some Vitamin B6 tablets today, also good for the luteal phase. I've worked out that I'm ovulating fine, so either its my OH's swimmers or something isn't quite right past ovulation. At least this way I feel like I'm doing something.

Mother - noooo, not cramp. I'm still hopeful for you!

purplebella · 28/09/2016 19:28

You're probably Mrs. It was something I heard years ago and I just got prenatal ones just in case. I never researched it properly I've got both kinds of vits, if u want me to post a pic?

Napping, that is most certainly a squinter!
