Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Thanks hep. Sk1pper I don't really know. Some people return to normal immediately, other people it takes a while for the hormones to clear out completely, and given the range of reasons/timing/causes/outcomes the NHS tell you this usefull little snippet 'the subsequent periods following a miscarriage may be longer or shorter than normal, or particularly heavy or light. Your cycle length may be longer, or shorter and may return to the pre-miscarriage length or may not.' Any concerns may be raised with your GP if your periods do not return'
Once again, cheers NHS Wine

HepKestrel · 12/09/2016 13:58

fxskip useful advice there ! Wine indeed !

kavanaughkj · 12/09/2016 14:33

My next ticket is 9 October, Hep - thanks everyone for flowers and chocs, I am unashamedly stuffing chocolate cake today and I don't care!! Next try now ages away but at least I will have new job distracting me :)

Another gamer! I'm a gamer too Hep - actually my new job is with a video games developer which I'm very excited about. One of the perks is free games and I get to wear jeans into the office all the time :)

Shitty timing on the smear. I put off having my first one for the longest time. Can't say is blame you skipping this one now! Also I'm on decaf everything these days and really don't miss it.

HepKestrel · 12/09/2016 14:53

kav a fellow geek !
good luck for your new job!

I'm a video game fiend too, though I have ps4 not Xbox. My DH is mad with video games too, he has a high spec PC. Our kids don't stand a chance Grin they will be geeks or disown is entirely.

LondonJem · 12/09/2016 18:06

Sorry kav know exactly how you feel - if when AF comes this week I'll be onto cycle 10 too. I don't let myself read anything into symptoms - quite strict about this now! I keep a journal in pink pad, so I can refer back to notes over the last 9 months Envy and see that I've felt all these things before and not got a bfp. That said I am sure we will both get there - I am aiming this month to try to be more philosophical and calmer this month when AF comes. I can't control this process but I can try to control my emotions better.

hep thinking of you lovely glad to hear you are relaxing and looking after yourself

skip hope you get some clues soon to where your cycle is. OPK might be an idea to see where your LH is at. Appreciate the POAS doom - I have sworn off pg tests now - but keeping an eye out for ovulation signs could mean you don't miss the next chance.

kwick · 12/09/2016 18:31

kavan remind me when am I supposed to give kwick Cake???

I am trying to earn a starky Star but the urge to POAS is fierce!!!!!

moose well done on getting magic potion!

hep how are you doing, o brave and strong one?
They are indeed cherry tomatoes - the same variety my grandparents grew with great success "Gardener's Delight". We are going to try some heritage tomatoes next year as well as GD. Have you tried putting a ripe tomato near your unripe ones?
The courgettes were grown from seed!!!!

I think my first AF after MC was 8 weeks and then next one 7. Not sure if I will get fertility boost - hard to tell given IVF status.

Sorry kavan Flowers

kavanaughkj · 12/09/2016 18:31

Keep trying to be positive Jem! With any luck it'll be your turn this month - though I can understand wanting to try to keep hopes and expectations under control. It's so easy to let them run away with you and all the more crushing when it doesn't happen, so I'm trying as much as possible now to just let the TTC thing chug along in the background while I get on with living my life.

Geeks unite! hee. I think my kids will be in the same situation as yours, skip - DH and I actually met through World of Warcraft. We're both completely sunk in Legion at the moment - I was a player back in vanilla days, played up to Cataclysm and bailed for Pandaria. Picked it up again with Warlords of Draenor for a bit and Legion is doing its best to eradicate any life either of us had outside of gaming. We do have pretty much all the consoles between us but rarely play them - I'm an RPG fan myself. Want to finish the original Dragon Age and Oblivion (never really got into Skyrim) but never have the time!

... ok, that was a tiny touch of my crazy. Proper geek here. Blush I hope that doesn't frighten anybody away! Back in uni days my friends used to try to launch me at boys by saying 'she's got a Playstation!' as girl gamers were so rare back then. These days I think it's a lot more common. Grin

kavanaughkj · 12/09/2016 18:34

Just saw your message kwick! I think Cake is only qualified for if subject waits for the due date to test. Sadly I missed out by a day as I tested a day early and essentially peed on a tenner

I'm still having cake though! Just not the kwick variety.

LovelyFishy · 12/09/2016 18:50

Omg Kav you have my dream job, I love video games! Grin Currently playing Ark: Survival on PC. I used to play soooo much WOW but I had to stop as it wasn't compatible with life. Confused

I've just thought, I didn't test until afternoon of AF day...does that mean I get Kwick cake? Grin

purpleladybird · 12/09/2016 18:56

To those considering Clear Blue OPKs, I've used both the advanced fertility monitor and the dual hormone sticks. The former is supposed to be better for irregular cycles, unless you work shifts or travel a lot in which case the sticks are more flexible with timings.

I haven't actually noticed any difference between the output to be honest and both show the same results as Internet cheapies.

I have loads of 'high' days before I 'peak'. No idea what that means or if it's a bad sign.

I'm still tracking with these even though we've cooled off on the trying.

sk1pper · 12/09/2016 19:07

Kav - world of Warcraft is literally the reason me and OH are still together. He went to uni in Bournemouth a year after we met and wow was a cheap way to stay in touch. We met in game, loaded up Skype and played most afternoons. Now we're living together we play steam games mainly: divinity, payday2 but we've got battlefield, Diablo and division on the go to. OH hasn't got a look in on the ps4, I've been busy playing bloodborne and dark souls 3. Dragon Age is awesome btw but I'd totally recommend mass effect of you haven't tried it.

I'm surprised at how many of us here play games. I dont like to mention it in case I'm the odd one out.

Also I need cake, I didn't even test on due day. So...double cake? Grin

kwick · 12/09/2016 19:24

hep I allow myself one real tea a day the rest is decaff and I have banned coke etc - once off it it is quite easy to stay away... Sugar is my downfall Sad

I used to hate smears too but I have had so many speculums and scanners being shoved up my fanjo I am not so hateful anymore - the last one I had, after MC, before IVF was over so fast I barely had time to say "ouch".

LOL kavan what other kind is there?!

lovely I think that means you get a starky Star well done!! And one for you too skipper Star!!!

kwick · 12/09/2016 19:25

Nice to see that geekiness is now becoming much more the norm, rather than the exception!

I love my computer games, but am currently mourning the loss of my pc, which decided to kick the bucket a few hours into Legion. :(

It's a good job I've been somewhat distracted since then! Wink

ArtOfKnit · 13/09/2016 06:46

Hi all, just a quick check in as this week is moving week so lots and lots of packing do to. Love that you all are gamers - the most I've ever done is the Sims!

No appearance from AF yet, but BFN this morning on a FRER. Hopefully she'll make an appearance soon and i can book my October bus ticket!

ArtOfKnit · 13/09/2016 06:46

Oh forgot to say good luck mrs!!

AlexiaB · 13/09/2016 07:39

Hep you're being so strong. Love that you're chilling at home in pjs gaming. Take all the time you needFlowers DH and I are self employed so I spent at least 1 week in pjs and hardly did a thing! I was lucky because I ovulated quite quickly after but didn't conceive. My next AF was very heavy and painful though which wasn't fun.

Kav sorry about AF Flowers

Art sorry about the BFN. Good luck with the move!

Great gaming chat! I'm a gamer too but only really play GTA. Dying for the next one to be released already!

I think I can finally join the bus! I O'd yesterday and I'm pleased with our timing. O day at 12:45am, O-1, O-3 and O-5 Grin Can you put me down for 23/09 please Hep. My LP is messed up atm so I'll be happy to reach 10dpo.

AlexiaB · 13/09/2016 07:45

Bluebird sorry the witch got you tooFlowersWine

Also, imo clear blue advance digital opks are NOT worth the money at all. I've been using them for 2 months now and have never got a peak despite internet cheapies being positive and my BBT chart clearly showing O. Save your money ladies!

LondonJem · 13/09/2016 08:21

12 DPO woke up sore boobs have gone, just like that. Bye bye progesterone Sad will be on cycle 10 by the end of the week.

sk1pper · 13/09/2016 08:29

London - ah so if your boobs stop hurting it signifies AF? I have had that every month for the last 4 cycles and it always gets me excited unnecessarily.

Mooseville · 13/09/2016 08:42

Who knew there were so many gamers on here! My game playing days ceased at Sonic the Hodgehog, unless Clash of Clans counts? But I do love a good board game and jigsaw! (I'm so 1990!)

More success last night! DP is a new man! So we DTD cd 10, (tried but failed cd 12) positive OPK days 14 and 15 (how can it be positive for two days???) and DTD both those. Don't know if I'm pushing my luck with DP to go again tonight or to keep his confidence up for next month! Lol
I feel that's probably one of our best months for timing and actually managing to get the swimmers up there though!
alexia we're in the TWW together - going to be a long one since we're both happy with our timings! Bring on the symptom spotting!

Mooseville · 13/09/2016 08:43

jem DON'T TRUST THE BOOBS!!!

LondonJem · 13/09/2016 08:46

It's progesterone leaving the building skipper. It floods in after you ovulate to prepare your body for pregnancy - you get whatever PMS you get - sore boobs, mood swings, acne, insomnia, anxiety, poor sleep etc etc . If you don't conceive progesterone drops away and your period comes.

I think you can only really tell if you are pregnant in those last few days of your cycle - when you can detect hcg basically. All the rest of the TWW is the usual PMS - whether you are pregnant or not.
