Crikey you have all been chatty today!
Imps, I think they just say disposable knickers because it can get very very messy and if things go wrong or happen faster than expected they just rip them away, if you are wearing real pants they have to get scissors to cut them off or make you take them off which you might not be co operative over at the time lol.
We didn't bother with cotton wool for nappy changes, we took baby wipes. Did take a small amount of cotton wool for cleaning their eyes though.
Beedles re clothes to take, on the post natal wards here they are extremely hot so the babies don't get cold, so you just need vest tops and comfy trousers, and nightwear really and I'm guessing will be the same over there. Bigger pants is wise, you might be one of the unlucky ones like me and swell up after the birth, my skin felt like it was going to split, took a few days for the excess fluids to work their way out of my body.
Imps I bought pads from tesco, took one pack of the big ones, and then a pack of their thinner ones.
Re scented toiletries, I just used my normal things. I doubt it would make any difference to a baby to be honest, they are meant to know your voice by the time they are born and it doesn't take long before they can recognise you by sight anyhow.
Yes re taking flip flops. Hospitals are not as clean as you might like, and especially when you have a shower, much better walking in and out in flip flops!
Beedles re sleep bras, I bought mine from mother care, they were in packs of 2, wrap over design and very comfy. I had to wear sleep bras and breast pads until I finished breast feeding as I would always leak! For daytime, I wore nursing bras from mother care, they had lots of clasps on them so as your rib cage reduced in size, you could adjust them. Re possible baby sizes, a friend had her son at 27+4, and he weighed 2lb 6 oz. He is fine, will be 6 later this year. I know of many babies born at 35 weeks that were 5-6lb. One born at 30 weeks that was just over 4lb. So unless you deliver very soon, chances are that tiny baby will be fine. Again I don't know about over there but here the hospitals have plenty of clothes that have been donated for premature babies. And lots of hats that have been knitted and donated. When they are very small they tend to just have a nappy on and a hat and then be kept warm in the incubators. I think the nappies are provided too.
Keep you know me too well. Yes I have been feeling things, and had a crazy dream last night that DH found a snake in our greenhouse and tried to pick it up.
Imps, I am due to see prof q next Friday when I will be 13 dpo. Will test on Thursday.
