You are right shoes I was thinking that caution had not been on in a while... caution you ok?

I am trying to up my milk intake too shoes but the tea with off milk has really not helped... I had gulped down half before realising - yuk!

karen my AF always showed up around a day after stopping progesterone. It is horrid as it gives false hope.

It was so sweet last night - my cousin's twin girls now are calling me by my name - so when my nephew was little he came up with Tia K (Tia means auntie in Spanish) which then morphed to Tkmax... I always wanted a nickname!

Easy way to get the milk in: bake a delicious (even if you do say so yourself) and wash it down with a large glass Grin

Bake a delicious... what? We need to know what's delicious! Grin

I've taken to making myself milky decaff coffees (using nice filter coffee and frothed milk). Also sometimes make frothy milkshakes .
I bought myself one of these:

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400ml-Stainless-Steel-Milk-Frother-Double-Mesh-Milk-Foamer-Creamer-for-DIY-Latte-/131867578548?hash=item1eb3eb90b4:g:VDQAAOSw1KxXNEjf

It makes milk so much more appealing!

Lovelyholiday · 13/08/2016 11:32

Good morning everyone, it's nice to read all the positivity going on.
kwick loving the cute nicknames, that's so sweet.
I just can't seem to bring myself to drink milk, not sure why, mind you I don't drink tea or coffee so it's never in my house, I know I need to go buy some.

My mind is starting to to play tricks on me now telling me alsorts of reasons why this cycle won't work! I need to get up and out and take my dogs for a walk .....and maybe buy some milk ....Grin

So I've lost 2 over the last couple of days, I have 2 really good looking ones and 4 slow burners.
Monday is the big day, a 5dt (am hoping this is a good sign) and a decision on whether to transfer just one or two.

I hope you all have a great weekend, and come Monday more good news for everyone 😊

lovely no milk for you now - too much can impact implantation and it sounds like your eggs did not need it Wink

Well this sucks. Negative beta like expected but dr also wants me to take a cycle off and I don't know why. I feel like it's never going to happen.

Lovelyholiday · 13/08/2016 16:33

Karen Flowers and hugs, that does suck!! Especially if you've geared yourself up to it! I can only imagine how you're feeling at the moment, and I don't really know your history etc, but keep strong and just keep picturing holding your gorgeous baby, one day they will be here xx

astridforty · 13/08/2016 18:39

Hoping I can join, prepping for donor ICSI and starting to get more and more nervous. I'm taking what feels like the full Zita West range - Vitafem and Vitafem Boost, plus Vit D spray and fish oils, due to start Bruselin at the start of Sept.

Reading the infertility threads just seems to raise more questions, especially on the supplements/ foods stuff. I'm worried my diet isn't good enough, I don't drink alcohol or any caffeine, vegetarian, low sugar generally and I've lost 22lb in 3 months so BMI is much better. Nagging me that lots of the weight loss was helped by Slimfast and maybe that's going to affect my egg quality - or is that offset by healthier weight? Arrrggh so many questions!!

INeedNewShoes · 13/08/2016 19:47

Karen That's utterly crap! When can you speak to your doctor to find out why?

Welcome Astrid I would really not worry unduly about supplements/diet. I always think of all of the women with really terrible diets/lifestyle (think of those living off McDonalds and never moving from their sofa) who manage to have babies. Diet therefore can't play that huge a part. As long as you have a varied diet that isn't particularly lacking in a major nutrient group you'll be in a better place than many. I would replace the Slimfast drinks with healthy meals now though if I were you. Well done on the weight loss. That's quite an achievement in a short amount of time!

kwick · 13/08/2016 19:51

Welcome astrid!!!!
This is a minefield! But this is a very supportive thread so whilst we may not be experts we are here to help keep the crazy at bay Wink
Well done on your weightloss - really great!
From what I know the egg quality is really important - for that reason I take a number of supplements: coenzyme q10, DHEA, vitamin E. I also try and drink copious amounts of milk in the lead up to ovulation (yoghurt is a good substitute) and then generally I try to eat fertility boosting foods, although I must admit I have wanned a bit on some of the ones I am not so keen on since my MC - like sweet potatoes and walnuts.
But guess what? You can get preggers with none of that....I just need to feel like I am doing something or not (gave up alcohol and caffeine last September).

karen what a fcuker! Flowers I am so sorry you have to take a month off. When I was told I had to wait two cycles after my MC I tried to negotiate with consultant and I did briefly consider bribery but I think if they are saying you need some rest time then probably best to follow their advice.

Still no sign of AF... If it does not come tomorrow then I will have to change my baseline scan... I have light colour knickers and white leggings on in attempt to trigger Grin but it may not be a bad thing if it comes a bit later.... It is going to insane to try and do this month with all the work travel I need to do.... But this comes first.

OP posts:
Karendvm · 13/08/2016 22:38

Welcome astrid! Nice to have you in the group. Sounds like you are doing heaps to help things along.

You are probably right kwick. There must be a good reason. I guess looking at the past six months I've had a mc, overstimulated, went on bcp, then dove right in with femara and then on progesterone. Quote the hormone roller coaster. Maybe my body will like a hormone free month. I'm having wine and pizza tonight!!

Oh, and decided to install a ceiling fan. What an ordeal it's become. But I went up in the blazing hot attic earlier and just started hitting the wood that had to come out with a hammer. Had a bit of a breakdown but it helped get some frustrations out!!

taydex · 13/08/2016 23:04

Hi ladies,
I just wanted to respond to your discussion on eating the right foods. We did 5 full cycles of IUI (plus 2 where they messed the medication up). I got stressed out making sure I ate, drank and did the right things throughout. The cycle that worked (the last one) I gave less of a sh*t. OK maybe not quite the right wording but I was less anal about it all. Partly because I was losing hope of this actually working. We were away on holiday in Italy for a long weekend during the 2WW and it was harder to control food intake in quite the way I would have been able to at home. So yes, I flew twice, pretty sure I had caffeine even though I asked for decaff (my Italian clearly isn't great), had a job interview, and other things I forget now. And it still worked.
I'm not saying throw all the advice out the window. I know that plenty of people who eat the wrong stuff, drink, smoke, generally don't look after themselves get pregnant. But it can't be an ideal start for a baby. I'm just saying don't be too harsh on yourselves. Clearly having to pay so much money to try and get pregnant you want to give it your best shot but please try not to stress too much.
Oh, and making you take a month off? My clinic did that to me 2 or 3 times (generally they recommended doing only 2 cycles back to back). Often they didn't really explain why which was very frustrating (often it was a nurse on the phone saying the consultant said take a month off without the nurse understanding/explaining why). I'd like to think they're the experts and know what's the best but I'd by lying if I said I truly believed this at times. No harm in asking them why, it'll help avoid you being so frustrated about it. I became quite demanding eventually LOL.
TD x

I miss you Taydex . You need to come and talk sense to us more often Grin

Karendvm · 14/08/2016 00:32

Thank you taydex. I'm going to call Monday and find out why. If there's a good reason then that's ok. I just hate being in the dark.

Can't say again how much all of you ladies have helped me. Thank you all.

kwick · 14/08/2016 09:30

I cannot believe karen you are doing your own DIY - that is what Task Rabbit is for!

taydex what shoes said!!! You need to be on here as the voice of reason Grin

Still no AF but I am feeling kinda crampy... Fx it comes today!

Ooh that cake looks good!

I do my own DIY too - some things I do well, some I do really badly and regret having started! I'd never heard of Task Rabbit. Does it cost a fortune?

I'm planning on having my mum teach my child how to do my garden so that by the time my mum is too decrepit to help with it she will have trained up her replacement Grin

Lovelyholiday · 14/08/2016 10:10

Oh my that cake looks yum!!
karen I'm impressed by your diy skills, I can just about turn my hand to painting and flat packs, down to one working spotlight in both the bathroom and kitchen, once they go i think it's time to move 😂😂

And welcome astrid these girls are great! You'll be looked after, good luck with everything and try not to overthink too much.
kwick I hope you see red today Blush

kwick · 14/08/2016 11:21

LOL shoes this is a good plan re: the garden. My mum knows so much and this will be lost... I am learning a little from doing the allotment but somethings like most if it I cannot remember.

On that note I need some advice, sorry I am so clueless! So with the allotment I have been taking photos on my phone of all of the progress we are making. I would really like to print them and create a photo album... Ummm how do I do that? Can I put them on a disc and have them printed out somewhere? Confused

Taskrabbit is only available in London at the mo. You pay by the hour and there are lots of rabbits (ok you are supposed to call them taskers) to choose from with different rates of pay - depending on task at hand/skills of rabbit. I have been able to get stuff done (like fix on new toilet seat, polyfil holes, fix on a lock) at very short notice and minimal hassle.

OP posts:
INeedNewShoes · 14/08/2016 11:39

Kwick others might have better suggestions, but I know that most Boots shops have machines where you can stick a USB memory stick in, select the photos you want and then print them out. I would have also thought you could attach your phone to these machines to find the files.

INeedNewShoes · 14/08/2016 11:41

Ooh, I feel really smug because of the three jobs you mentioned (new toilet seat, polyfilling, locks) I've done all of these things successfully at some point or other! I even changed my own front door lock when I bought my house. Halo

(Why isn't there a smug smiley?)

Karendvm · 14/08/2016 12:32

kwick do you have a recipe for that bread? Looks yummy!

I always have these projects I want to do. But I have now learned that nothing will go as expected with my old house. I love me house, but sometime I want to burn it to the ground. 80 years old, with plaster. And the previous owners thought they were great at diy, but really they took shortcuts and it makes some things just so difficult to fix. It's a good distraction though. Woke up feeling a bit deflated today. I'm going to definitely call the clinic tomorrow and see what is going one. I have this irrational fear that my ovaries are just going to stop working over night. I think it's more that I was dealing with my bfn by focusing on being positive about going right in to the next cycle, and then that got dashed.

Hope everyone's enjoying their Sunday!

kwick · 14/08/2016 13:17

shoes perhaps I can hire you as a rabbit?! Grin

So cake recipe VERY easy:
Heat oven to 180 degrees celcius
Take a single yoghurt - size for one serving for one person, any flavour you like, empty that into a bowl
Fill empty yoghurt pot with olive oil, put in bowl with yoghurt
Fill yoghurt pot twice over with sugar, empty into bowl
Add 3 large eggs - I substituted one for a duck egg for extra yumminess
Add some lemon zest if you want - in this part I added a ripe banana (if I were to do again I would add more as it is not overly bananery)
Mix altogether - I use a hand mixer
Then add 16g of baking powder and 3 yoghurt pots of plain flour
Mix again
Put in cake tin - I use a silicone loaf "tin" and bake for about 40 minutes
Eat!

kwick · 14/08/2016 14:19

karen you are supremely fertile and your ovaries are not shutting down!!
