Just poking my head round the door and hoping everyone is ok. Boggle in answer to your question: it's the area in which you are registered for your GP and it depends on their CCG. I live in the East Riding, which has 1 round of IVF available, but because my GP is in Hull, I am actually entitled to 3 rounds. www.infertilitynetworkuk.com/nhs_funding_2 x x x

eskimoflo · 01/08/2016 18:47

This site should allow you to find out... If you click on your area on the map, it should then show a link underneath the map which allows you to find out your CCG. Once you've done that, you can scroll further down the page with the map on it and you can download the data which shows how many rounds you're entitled to. x x

Oops, forgot to post the link! Here you go: www.fertilityfairness.co.uk/nhs-fertility-services/ivf-provision-in-england/

Ok so I'm north and west Reading as that's where my GP. I can't find anything about what I'd be offered IVF wise

Hi eskimo - hope you and baby are well xxx

Found it. 1 fresh cycle, have to be trying for 3 years. We've only been trying for 2. We're fucked.

Sad The funding is so unfair. Have you considered going abroad? I know of at least 3 people on here who have been the the Czech republic and have been successful, It's so much cheaper and they have good success rates. x x

PeppaIsMyHero · 01/08/2016 19:34

Hi Ladies. I've recently found out I have 1 polycystic ovary (is that even possible?) which is probably why baby number 2 has never appeared. Where is the best place to go for info and how do I go about increasing my chances of pregnancy?

Any advice gratefully received.

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/08/2016 19:42

We don't have to the money to fund any of it. I'm grateful for any funding of course but it just feels like 1 thing after another. I'm so fed up. I want to give up.

You're right Boggle, I've got him on a special multi-vit plus some herbal tablets which may hopefully help. He's been quite sedentary for a while lately & put on weight bc he broke his foot and then it didn't heal right but it seems to be better now thankfully so he's working hard on losing weight and getting fitter.
That's sooo frustrating about the IVF!! But there's still hope you won't even need it, try and stay positive Flowers

Eskimo that's good information, thanks!

Peppals welcome Smile you likely have pcos but only one ovary is showing cysts (you can actually have pcos without any cysts on your ovaries which seems strange!). Have you had any bloodwork done to see if you are ovulating? Do you have any weight to lose?

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/08/2016 21:09

You are a positivity beacon dani. Don't know how you do it but thank you.

peppals, welcome. Sorry, I wasn't ignoring you.

Yes, you can have cysts on one ovary and not the other. I've got one ovary worse than the other! What blood work have you had done and where are you on your journey?

Hugs Boggle, we'll all get there eventually if we keep on keeping on! Flowers

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/08/2016 09:41

Hopefully. Just feel so lost at the minute. I'm getting closer and closer to throwing in the towel. I don't believe anything is going to work for us.

Boggle what have you tried already and what is there that you can still try? Do you use inositol already? If not that could help with insulin resistance and possibly help regulate your cycle and aid in stubborn weight loss. Whilst there are still things out there you can try then you are still in control and still have hope this can happen for you. Don't lose faith, dust yourself down and reformulate your plan Flowers

I think I am going to put my case forward for more clomid and then injectables. I am going to decline the operation and if they want to check my tubes, they can do a hycosy.

In the meantime, I need to lose weight and eat better.

Sounds great Boggle, do you have a next appointment date or will you need to make one?

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/08/2016 12:32

Going next Wednesday at 4pm. I just hate this limbo bit. I need to know something is happening xxx

I feel you Boggle the waits seem to take forevvverrr!! Just over 3 weeks til my next one. Hopefully you'll have a productive meeting!

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/08/2016 13:57

I've got to make it productive. Was meant to be review at 6 months, not a year. I just hope they see my sense.

AmyC86 · 02/08/2016 16:55

I hope that you get something sorted too boggle let me guess, your 6 month follow up appointment was cancelled? The similar thing happened to me. Went for the initial consultation in January, waited until April for the 4 week follow up.

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/08/2016 18:29

I didn't even get offered one. I just kept being given clomid, provera and then metformin Hmm

I've just got back from the gym, our first session so feeling better after blowing the cobwebs away (and a few calories too!)

That's awesome Boggle, high five!! Did you & your DH go together?
Amy my initial referral appointment was cancelled last minute as the consultant went on leave, but I was very lucky in that I got an appointment with someone else the same day at a hospital 30 min away (instead of the one 5 min away). The further away one I'm being seen at is a smaller hospital which still falls under the bigger nearer hospital so I was happy to take the appointment rather than wait!
