Ha ha blossom - I've recently bought new nightwear as weirdly, my ratty old tracksuit bottoms and big t-shirts weren't doing much for DH!

I'm on day 7 of frigging flashing annoying smiley face on Clearblue digi OPK - beginning to think I'm just not going to ovulate this month! DH dad is staying the night this week, so Sod's law I'll get a static smiley then Confused

Midrog · 19/07/2016 11:50

Pyjamas have you looked at the stick part and compared to previous days to see if the line is getting darker?

Cloudpirate....yer scan pics get me too! DH thinks I'm insane because I cried when AF arrived this month. He just says chill out, it'll happen and everytime I want to smash him in the face lol!

The stuff about underwear made me laugh.

Nothing screams come hither more than a pair of off white granny pants and non matching "work bra".

I'm in the 48 hours of static smiley face (since yday morning) and last night we both just lay there like sooooooo are we going to or not. Romance has well and truly been killed Confused

Hi ladies! I'm hopping on this bus from the July one:

TTC #1
Cycle 7
Age 27
Testing 9 August

I'm all set for this month: just bought Pre-seed lubricant and I'm getting a Clearblue Advanced Fertility monitor tomorrow. I'm really excited to seeing how the monitor works, I've heard only good things about it!

Good luck to everyone, fingers crossed this will be the month!

Pyjamas81 · 19/07/2016 12:07

Hello and welcome fuzz!

Midrog - the line was extremely faint on the empty circle days, a bit stronger on high fertility days but pretty constant over the last week. Have obviously now convinced myself that ovaries have melted in this heat ha ha. I'm a winter person, so DTD this week is the last thing I want to do!

CloudPirate · 19/07/2016 13:18

Oh, and names... DH and I are never going to agree... I would really like Welsh names (with the caveat that they should be straightforward to pronounce for non-Welsh speakers) although I'd be happy for him to pick the exact name. Haven't found any he has liked so far though Hmm

Also, weirdly, we both seem to find it easier to think of girls names that we (individually) like than boys names?

Have to rein myself in on thinking of names and other plans as the more we discuss, the more excited I get and the harder it is when AF turns up...

Peaches28 · 19/07/2016 14:00

Hi everyone, can I join please?

I'm 28, married and TTC#1.

This will be cycle1.

I came off cerazette 4 weeks ago and currently waiting for my first AF. I have been testing for ovulation for the last couple of weeks and got a digital positive for it on Sunday so we DTD (even though we said we'd wait until after my first AF... I kinda got impatient whoops!) it was just the once though and in all honestly I don't even think my ovulation test was correct.

Sooooo I am joining you all! I'm totally new to all this and have a lot of reading up to by the looks of it.. Firstly just to understand my cycle when I've finally had an AF!

Nice to meet you all, would love to hear from others TTC after stopping their BCP recently Smile

babydances · 19/07/2016 15:51

Tmi alert!!

What the difference between stretchy egg white cm and dp semen?

Really sorry to ask but .. Is it cm or can do semen combine to become stretchy and leave the body 20 hours later?

I am super excited as I think I had EWCM!!!
10 days after implant came out which would mean I could be approaching ovulation!!
I googled EWCM and found this photo and it looked like this:

Sorry for tmi.
Is this what EWCM looks like or is this semen form last night Shock

Hi ladies,

New to MN and hoping to jump on the August bus too!

As months pass by it is getting harder and harder but still 100% motivated. I have been using the Clearblue Digital ovulation tests – Do you find them reliable or do you have any other recommendation(s) (cheaper and most efficient!)?
My peak fertility was detected by those tests the last 3 months (around the 19th day after the 1rst day of my period). This month, 22 days after the 1rst day of my period, the tests do not show any peak fertility. Do you think I should rely on them?
Fingers crossed for everyone! Thank you for your precious help xxx

Midrog · 19/07/2016 17:32

Hi user :) are you using the ones that just detect the two peak days? If so you could try the dual ones which picks up high days before ovulation as well as the two peak days? X

user1468421891 · 19/07/2016 18:30

Hi :-). Yes I tried both. I definitely need to find a nicer name btw, will think about it!

I have the cheapies and the dual hormone digi ones - have been using the cheapies at same time as being on 7th day of flashing smiley face I thought the digi one might be broken! But no, there's a definite line on the cheapies, but fainter than the control line Sad

Leah98 · 19/07/2016 21:33

Hi August bus, can I join you?

Given up hope that it will just happen. Got ovulating tests this month, going to start tonight. Can't believe it's this difficult :( but not given up hope for that positive result.

Great having online support. Saves my husband from having to listen to my every thought 😊

Pyjamas81 · 20/07/2016 18:55

So I think I'm pretty much out for this month - 8th day of flashing annoying smiley face and cheapie OPK much fainter than yesterday (pics below) so I think I skipped ovulating. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Who knows, haven't given up all hope for this month, but expectations aren't high for testing time in a couple of weeks!

Don't give up hope Pyjamas81

I got dark, but not dark enough to be positive, lines on cheapie OPK's last week. Then hardly a line at all. I thought I'd ovulated and missed it but then I got a positive OPK this week. I think stress delayed ovulation. Are you temping too? (That said, I'm finding it hard to work out if my temps are post ovulation or not with this hot weather)

Upthetree100 · 20/07/2016 19:13

Pyjamas I've been struggling with opk's. First month of using them and was told that the 2nd line had to be as strong as or stronger than control but didn't get to that point before the lines started fading again so unsure if I've missed ovulation or it just didn't happen.

Pyjamas81 · 20/07/2016 19:26

Thanks upthetree and monkey - it's so annoying isn't it?! I've been temping (pic below) but doesn't mean much to me - all I see is a mountain range and like you I think it's affected by the heat wave! I'm going to carry on testing and dtd just in case, no harm in that Smile

August Bus
Upthetree100 · 20/07/2016 19:51

pyjamas how long have you been using opk's for?
It is really annoying Angry
I agree carry on dtd and testing and see what happens!

Pyjamas81 · 20/07/2016 20:10

Since CD6 this cycle as last cycle was short, I got a static smiley last month at CD10 and am now on CD15. Onwards and upwards!

Midrog · 20/07/2016 20:22

Pyjamas I think it says in the information leaflet that some people have lower levels of LH that can't be detected but it doesn't mean you haven't ovulated. Don't loose hope :) keep testing x

ginandcake · 20/07/2016 20:42

Don't give up hope pyjama, it isn't over until AF arrives. I have started using OPKs this month, and to be honest I'm finding them quite stressful, not sure I'll use them next time. Actually who am I kidding I can't help but POAS! But seriously, just because you haven't had a positive OPK doesn't mean you haven't ovulated.

Welcome User and Leah. Fingers crossed for you. How long did it take with your first two Leah?

Upthetree100 · 20/07/2016 21:31

gin I'm a first time opk user this cycle too and feel your pain! I would maybe soldier on over at least three cycles to give you a more reliable picture something about following my own advice again
It totally makes you poas obsessed though, with preg tests it's a once a month obsession but with opk's several times a day which can make anybody lose it!
