Symptom spotting is such fun though!!

pea - if your lines are getting lighter could you have missed the surge? They appear and then dip again so quickly. How often are you using the OPKs?

Miami81 · 02/08/2016 19:07

Oh writer I know. It is fun/nerve wrecking. I have the worst ovulation pains at the mo. So much so that it is hard to think about dtd as am so uncomfortable. Why is nature such a little bitch? How am I supposed to get pregnant like this?!

peasandquiet · 02/08/2016 19:21

Once or twice a day, I'm only day 14 of 27/28 day cycle so I hope that it's darker tomorrow, today I did 9 and 5 around work so not ideal times. Off tomorrow so will be doing lunch time instead fingers crossed its a dark line and then the waiting begins! last month I got a positive on day 14 but I'm not exactly regular so we'll see.

misstiggiwinkle · 02/08/2016 19:23

Miami I had the same at ov, honestly you'd think that Mother Nature really doesn't want us to reproduce!

I've read something similar too about opks and hpts...literally having to hold myself on the sofa to stop myself poas and it will def be neg, certainly on 7dpo and I'll just get depressed. Will keep doing the opks though (and pretending that I'm still looking out for a late ovulation and not a BFP) Wink

I've now decided I'm craving liquorice, nothing to do with the fact that they had them by the till in the shop just now!

Writerwannabe83 · 02/08/2016 19:36

I'm going to be on CD31 tomorrow and no signs of my period arriving. Mind you, I usually just wake up in the morning to what looks like a blood bath so I guess I will just see what tomorrow morning brings.

I have just used my last HPT and it was negative, but it was used on a 7pm wee. It was a First Response test but not the 'Early Result' brand and says not to be used until the first day of your missed period - not that I know when that will actually be.

Ovia is telling me my official test date is tomorrow and I'm kind of relieved I have no more HPTs so I can't torture myself by looking for squinters that I just know won't be there.

I don't feel pregnant at all and seeing as me and DH only had sex once during the fertile week (on the last day of FW) I can't say I'm too hopeful....

McBaby · 02/08/2016 19:47

8dpo and need to resist testing!! It's so hard even though I know I prob won't appear for a few more days and then I get upset that it's negative. It doesn't help I have been taking tests for the past couple of weeks for the tests to become negative post miscarrige so it's part of my daily routine. I feel like I'm going crazy!!

Calmisthemantra · 02/08/2016 20:24

I'm still hanging on with you writer. I had a bit of pink when I wiped at 11am so put my mooncup in. I just checked it and nothing in it. I'm on cd30 of a perfectly regular 27/28day cycle.

Welcome newcomers

calmisthemantra - it's nice to know I have a littl buddy in the same situation. I'm going into town tomorrow and I have fleeting moments of considering buying a FRER but I can't help but feel it would be a waste of money.

blossom - we haven't spoke about DC2 since those tense few days where he told me how he felt. I'm panicking a little as he is on the verge of booking us a holiday for next April where we, if I do turn out to be pregnant, will be due to fly out three days after my EDD. I'm trying to put him off with pretty lame excuses until I either get a BFP or AF but it's really awkward and difficult. It's all such a mess Sad

danigrace · 02/08/2016 21:14

Skipper 2WW = 2 week wait - hope you get your BFP!!

Vanilla when do you plan on testing?

Miwela good tip. I was recommended Pregnacare Conception which I'm taking now.

Peas that's frustrating but then I have heard a few ladies say they got their BFP on a month with no positive opk so don't let it get to you too much.

MissTiggi ooooh that all sounds positive!! Fingers crossed for you!

Miami sorry to hear you're so uncomfortable. Paracetamol & dtd? Doesn't really set the mood does it lol.

Writer It's still possible and not over until you see AF! You too Calm!

McBaby sorry for your loss Flowers fingers crossed for you!

Blossom could the opk be picking up early pregnancy hormone??

Writerwannabe83 · 02/08/2016 21:17

blossom I'm also using OPKs as make-shift HPTs Grin

I had a faint line yesterday and a slightly darker one this evening. I'm kidding myself to actually believe it's detecting HGC when the pregnancy tests don't Grin

I think I'm going crazy.

I'm watching OBEM in the hope it may make DH recall how wonderful it all was Grin

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 21:20

Writerwannabe83 - you can't put life on hold for possible pregnancy. Trust me, I've been there and its much less stressful to book your holidays, parties, weddings etc like you're not trying :)

Writerwannabe83 · 02/08/2016 21:33

I wish I could just tell him I may possibly be pregnant and so ask him to just hold off for a few days.

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 21:42

Why don't you? Or do you want it to be a nice surprise if you are?

Writerwannabe83 · 02/08/2016 21:51

skipper - to cut a very long story short, two weeks ago my DH told me he didn't want another baby. It was really upsetting, we had a rough few days whilst I came to terms with it, I really wasn't expecting it. Anyway, despite saying that we still had unprotected sex a few days later which unfortunately (for him) turns out it was at the end of my fertile week.

I'm not sure he would class a BFP as a "nice surprise" Sad

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 22:11

Oh I understand, that is a tricky situation. I'm sorry this is obviously quite draining for you, I hope if it is a BFP, he has a change of heart or just accepts it in a positive way. Re the holiday, maybe you can pretend you have some important work thing happening at the same time and you need to check dates...just something to delay it a few more days so you can be sure.

Writerwannabe83 · 02/08/2016 22:25

Well over the last hour I've felt quite periody so hopefully it will be full flow in the morning and this whole situation can be avoided.

ginandcake · 02/08/2016 22:27

Hi to all you new ladies who have hopped on the bus.

Following on from blossom's lead I shall reintroduce myself: Age 32, TTC #3, cycle 3, CD 6.

AF has finished today so now just need to wait for my FW, so impatient but we are going to DTD every other day until then.

I know how complicated it is for you at the moment writer, but it will all get sorted out one way or the other. I guess you have just got to try and delay him from booking for a few days more. Do totally agree with you though sk1pper, I spent the previous two cycles not putting myself forward for things at work thinking in my head that I will off on maternity leave in 9 months. Have now realised that that is crazy, and you are right you have to plan things like you are not trying!

Love to you babydances, hope you are ok.

And as for symptom spotting, it is a physical impossibility when you are TTC!

Theknittinggorilla · 02/08/2016 22:33

Hi I've been dropping in and out but will also reintroduce now I have entered the dreaded 2ww

Age 36
Ttc no 3
Cycle 2
Af due on 13th. Descended into symptom spotting and poas madness last month and am aiming for sanity and no test until period due this month. Theoretically.

Fingers crossed for more bfps soon

I'm with you blossom, drove myself crazy last cycle staring at sticks! I have bought a load of cheap ones from amazon and I shall give them to DH to hide. Just have to resist the ones that we have at work.

When is your AF due blossom?

Writerwannabe83 · 02/08/2016 23:00

gin - what line of work are you in? I also have access to pregnancy tests at work and today I actually nearly poached one!! Grin
