That's helpful isn't it upthetree...

Another BFN today with FMU this time and so I'm definitely counting myself out seeing as AF is due yesterday/today/tomorrow so I would have expected at least a squinter by now if I were pregnant.

Never mind Sad

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 07:33

What's FMU mean? Also what is your view(s) on IVF? I'm just interested as my sister is a nurse and has really strong views on it

Calmisthemantra · 02/08/2016 08:04

I'm the same writer. Was due on yesterday so did another test with FMU and negative. Think my very faint test from a few days ago must be a fluke. Still no period and feel like utter crap. At the latest my period has been the day after its due so will see what today brings Hmm

Calmisthemantra · 02/08/2016 08:05

Oh and I got early positives with my other two do still getting bfn isn't usual for me

danigrace · 02/08/2016 08:39

Thanks Tree, we dtd 4 days before. It certainly won't be top notch - he has some weight to lose & has been quite sedentary for about a year as he broke his foot and damaged his nail bed and the minor surgery went wrong so he's been back and forth to the hosp for ages. Touch wood it seems to finally be better now though and he's been working hard at losing weight and getting fit. Also giving him some fertility vitamins & herbal supplements which will hopefully help.
Tree what's going on with your cycle?

Writer & Calm so sorry to hear that Flowers it's not over until AF shows up though! My friend always had a regular cycle didn't get a positive until she was 4 days late!! And even then it was a squinter. She's 6 months pg now.

Skipper FMU is your first morning urine which is often the best for early pregnsncy testing. In what way do you mean about the IVF? I think anything that can be done to help couples conceive who have been struggling and clearly want to be parents is a great thing!

lousylear · 02/08/2016 09:04

Can I join? I'm 41, have 2 DD and 1 DS (12,10,8). Getting divorced. Have a new partner who I adore. TTC. Had coil removed a week ago. Bled for 3 days straight after. Now it's a waiting game I guess. We have sex every day so FX. Hoping it happens soon as I'm not getting any younger!

Queen0ffaff · 02/08/2016 09:35

Hi ladies,

Hoping to join the August bus, please!

Great to read all of your stories to date and have some online company through this - we're sort of just starting out (we've been 'not avoiding' for some time), but I already know I'm going to need to come here to rein in the inevitable strong pull to test ludicrously early... Same as everyone else: the BFP is very much wanted and that overrides any common sense that I may have!

I just read through this thread to try and clue myself up on the lingo etc, and got really excited to see the positive results - congratulations, Ever and Midrog! Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

A bit about me...

Age 35
TTC #1 (DH and I late to find each other, but he was worth the wait!)
Test date 12th August
1st cycle of properly ttc (and I'm already SS! Actually, this isn't the first time...)

Writerwannabe83 · 02/08/2016 09:47

FMU = first morning urine.

And I think IVF is amazing!!!

On my last cycle I had my period on what would have been CD28 whereas I'm now on CD30 and no sign of my period.

For all I know though I'm only 9dpo, I have no idea. Sometimes my cycles are between 31-35 days long so I'm just waiting patiently for something to happen...

babydances · 02/08/2016 09:54

Hi ladies

I'm off for a ttc break. Will be back in Autumn once we decide it's the right time. Fx I don't see any of you on this forum and that you all got your bfps.

Love to you all

Hi can i join the august bus
TTC 3
Cycle 2 after a mmc in early june
Test day 27th august

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 10:00

Welcome Queen0ffaff, good to meet someone else trying to get their head round the lingo :D

I only ask about the IVF because my sister works as a nurse on a premature baby ward. Many of her worst cases are twins/triplets from IVF treatment so she unintentionally put me off with her stories (she doesn't know I'm trying). That said, I know a couple of people who had great success with it so I'm not sure how I feel about it.

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 10:17

Also Danigrace it's great your DH is getting in shape. My soon to be husband has lost 3 stone and now takes vitamins every day without me asking. I've never even see him take paracetamol in the whole 10 years we've been together so it really is amazing. I feel like it's bringing us closer together than driving us apart, he desperately wants kids as he's nearly 36 (I'm only 28) and when it happens it will be great as we've both tried our utmost to make it happen :)

miwelaisjacydo · 02/08/2016 10:34

Hello all just about to start tww I think. Not doing any ovulation tests just going off when I think am ovulating. This part for me is the most stressful but am more chilled than I have been about it.

danigrace · 02/08/2016 11:15

Welcome Lear, fingers crossed for you!

Queen welcome! Being here may not totally reign in your crazies but at least you'll be in good company Grin

Ooooh well there's certainly still hope for this month yet Writer!

Love to you Dances, hope your break gives you what you need.

Welcome Sugar, sorry to hear of your loss Flowers

Skipper don't let that put you off - there are both wonder stories and horror stories from all aspects of pregnancy and birth (and life in general!) and you can't let it affect the way you live your life too much. Just keep your positive outlook and hope for the best! Way to go to your DH re. the weight loss! And that's lovely it's bringing you closer together as a couple.

Hi Miwela, fingers crossed for your 2WW, glad you're feeling chilled!!

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 12:31

2WW, is that the period between ovulation and AF?

miwelaisjacydo · 02/08/2016 12:49

dani yeah it's odd for me to feel chilled.
sugar sorry for your loss.
sk1pper yes it is yes.

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 14:20

Then I'll be joining you miwelaisjacydo :) seems like we are sync'd. Fingers crossed for both of us x

miwelaisjacydo · 02/08/2016 14:54

Thanks sk1pper fingers crossed for you too 😎

Vanillaradio · 02/08/2016 14:58

Well 9 dpo and cd 23 and I have headache, cramp pains and high blood sugar, could either mean implantation or af coming in the next few days, am guessing the latter as I had no cramps after implantation with ds. Fx for everyone waiting.

miwelaisjacydo · 02/08/2016 15:59

I know you all prob are but just want to remind everyone to take folic acid. just when I got my prescription from Drs he said that so many woman only start to take folic acid once pregnant but it should be taken before really.

sk1pper · 02/08/2016 16:20

Good shout, it is important. I've been taking supplements with it for a year now. It actually levitates some of the cramping when AF arrives so worth taking just for that. Good luck vanillaradio, you never know! :)

everdene · 02/08/2016 16:37

That said, folic acid is water soluble, so you can't 'stock up' beforehand - you need to take it daily.

peasandquiet · 02/08/2016 18:39

2WW is approaching, no positive OPK yet which is frustrating, seems to have got lighter not darker today fingers crossed will be positive tomorrow. Already taking folic acid the one with vit d in it too so ready to go. The pregnacare last time I was preggers made sickness even worse so just taking folic plus this time around.

misstiggiwinkle · 02/08/2016 18:42

Ive been taking my folic acid and vit d for 8 months now!

So this month I decided to keep doing opks after ov just to check that I wasn't ovulating later than I thought and missing it. Interestingly whilst they quickly went down to a completely blank negative after I got my 2 days of super strong +ves on CDs 17 & 18, yesterday I got a v faint shadow and today there is definitely a good line creeping back in. Maybe I'm coming up for round two of ovulation??! My temp has popped back up after yesterday's dip too.

I also think I can smell everything but then again, all the smells I'm noticing are strong ones anyway - coffee, garlic, the nappy bin Grin so maybe I'm just over thinking it. Last night I went to bed early as was shattered and feeling really under the weather. Today still very tired (remember this as my key symptom from last time - so tired that even my fingernails and teeth felt tired) but then I am chasing an 18 mo DS around this time so I'm always tired!

Aghhhh why can't I stop myself symptom spotting?! I'm 7dpo - a whole week to go until af

Miami81 · 02/08/2016 19:00

Tiggi something I saw in Internet was based on using OPK's as really super early HPT's. Not sure if it is an old wives tale! Or new wives tale. Or crazy symptom spotting ttc ladies....... GrinGrinGrin
