Hi everyone here is the August bus carrying on from the one I was on previous month with u ladies.
Fx this is a lucky bus!
Had my implant out yesterday and gp said I should be good to go within a week.

Not too sure how to track so hoping af arrives to kick things off :-)

I was really crampy yesterday and now I've just had brown/orange smears on the toilet paper after a loo trip....

Ovia tells me my highest point within my fertile window is 7th August which is my birthday so I'm keeping everything crossed for this cycle!!!

I'm just about to order some opks and also want to track bbt. Any tips on timing and tracking? What do I look for etc. Thanks

Niks order some OPKs and a BBT thermometer from Amazon.

Then, download the Fertility Friend app and away you go!

Temp at the same time each day, then from Day Eight do an OPK as close to 2pm as possible. When the OPK line is darker than the test line, get shagging!!

I looked up the Sperm Meets Egg Plan (SMEP) and loosely followed that too. Good luck!

Have just talked to DH about SMEP and he isn't keen. Says he wants us to to be more relaxed about the whole thing and basically DTD as much as possible! So our plan is to DTD every other day from when AF ends and maybe every day around ovulation (which also happens to be our anniversary). Hopefully that will produce a BFP and if not probably cystitis!

And I did get cystitis this month too! I didn't pee after Dtd once and I think it was that.

Thanks ever. And what is it I am looking for within my temps, a peak, a dip, contestant rise? What do the results tell me, when I'm ovulating? I've just put my details and last period and cm into FF and it says I'm in my fertile window. I'm cd11 and it looks like in due to ovulate Sunday/Monday.

What does SMEP stand for?

Niks. Temps normally used to show ovulation had occurred. So a consistent rise in temperature. Judged over three days. Around 0.2-0.4 degrees c higher then the six before. No way to pre judge from temps when you will ovulate. It confirms that ovulation has happened. If you use it with cm and cp that is normally good enough for a lot of people. Some people get dips etc, to indicate pre ov and sometimes implant, but this is not everyone so don't be expecting that!! Iykwim. Loads of temping apps available. I use fertility friend. Good luck with it.

Baby dances it is the sperm meets egg plan. Pretty much as described. Dtd every other day from AF then every day during fertile window. Gets great results apparently - or causes oh's to curl up in the corner and cry!!! And lots of cystitis.

Only just getting to 2ww myself, but not particularly hopeful this month, timing was a bit off with DH's work etc so not taken full advantage of the FW and missed a day of OPK which I am pretty sure would have been the positive one!

Also... has anyone been for smear test while TTC? If calculations are a bit out then I would still be in FW today/ tomorrow but have a smear booked tomorrow morning which is putting me off d2d in case they find... er... evidence??

SMEP sounds impossible!!!

I think we have managed to do the reverse of smep - every day since af then every other day in fw so far! Don't think it's an accident - my Dh is very keen on the extra sex and less keen on the swift arrival of dc3. Hoping it still does the job, am guessing lots of dtd early on in the cycle is better than later?

I'm officially in the 2ww now, planning for less testing and more sanity this month. Af due a week on sat so am going to (try to) wait until then to test.

AF due tomorrow but Ovia telling me to test on Saturday (due to ovulating on CD20 this time I think). Oh the cruelty!

Anyone else have moments of questioning about having another baby?

I've been having a couple of days feeling unsure if it is right for us now to have another as its a 7 year age gap and I'm questioning if I want to start all over again

Babydances at 4 am this morning on my third trip to my DS's room (used to be an amazing eater and sleeper but at 18mo he's regressed massively) I did seriously think we were being really stupid wanting to go through it all again! Needless to say he's being an angel today and I'm desperate for him to have a sibling. Another little hand to hold, another little cheek to kiss .

I'm at 6dpo today and interestingly I've had a temp drop today, really hoping its implantation as a bit early for temp drops due to AF. I've also got a bit of a scratch/sore throat. Everything is crossed!

Niks with temping, you sometimes get a dip at ovulation, a rise decent with 3 consecutive rises afterwards and then it will fall back to baseline in time for AF. If you are pregnant then it doesn't fall. Have a look on google images at some bbt charts, will help you get an idea of what to expect. You do have to do it at roughly the same time every morning before you get out of bed and even before you talk!

Babydances, completely! Both dh and I are fairly sure that we want 2 dcs, but the thought of going through pregnancy and the newborn stage again has me seriously wobbling about that! Its not an easy decsion whatever the age gap and if we were younger (me 39, dh 46) I actually think we would put it off longer, maybe even till ds at school. I have come to the conclusion that it is better to go for it now than turn round when it's too late and regret not even trying.

Not had chance to catch up properly yet, will do soon. Took my young cousins (10 & 11) away for the weekend and am now the only adult at the 11 year olds birthday party - got 12 kids at playfatore; so at least I'm not responsible for entertainment! But I feel like I need a weeend to get over my weekend but the work is piling up so I can't do that unfortunately!
DH's sperm results weren't fantastic - 16% progressive when should be 32% and count was under the normal level but concentration quite a bit higher than the normal figure. But the thing is I was reading depending on the person sperm survives between 30 min & 4 hours outside the body and we got it there 1 hour & 15 mins after and not sure if they tested it instantly so that may have played a factor. But anyway, not great but could have been worse I guess.
Just finished my first period since March so my fingers are still crossed something may happen!!

Hi everyone, I'm new around here nice to meet you all! :)

Just going to hang about if that's okay, hoping for a bit of support and to offer my own in whatever way I can. I'm not clued up on all the abbreviations yet but this is my first time trying, I'm into my 12th month this August which is severely disheartening but still trying to stay positive regardless.

This months probably a write off because me and my OH haven't been as dedicated as we normally are, life has been tiring us out recently.

Aw dani I'm sorry, quite possibly the timing could have had something to do with it. Also they suggest dtd no earlier than 7 days before or later than 2 days after, if you didn't stick to that then that could have had an effect?
Welcome skipper I'm sorry it's taking so long for you, I know the feeling but don't give up! Hugs to you.
