Hi again ladies, so yesterday I had a BFN (10dpo) decided to do a cheapie this morning BFN.....went back to it like an hour later and thought I could see the faintest of faintest lines....like the tiniest which I thought was evap. Showed DH and we broke it open....still nothing. I read on here that the first response tests are better so went and got one of them.....instant BFP Grin fingers crossed for a sticky one! Just goes to show ovulation tests can actually help x

Pyjamas81 · 30/07/2016 16:12

Ooooo midrog that's amazing news!! GrinGrin Congratulations! Did you get symptoms in the run up to testing?

I'm 5dpo and trying not to read too much into anything, but it's hard!

Midrog · 30/07/2016 16:28

Aww thank you Grin and yer it's really tough isn't it. I haven't really had any symptoms at all. I felt abit like I was getting period pains for maybe half an hour 2 days ago....im assuming that was probably implantation (day 9 or 10po). Otherwise absolutely diddly squat! I was convinced the second test would be negative purely because I've had nothing. Just think you could have one floating it's way down right now Smile

Writerwannabe83 · 30/07/2016 16:42

Brilliant news!!!! Congratulations!!

The BFPs are rolling in!!

Pyjamas81 · 30/07/2016 16:44

So excited for you Smile And great to find out in a weekend!

I've been getting weird pangs on my right side - I know 5dpo is too early, so trying not to read into it! Could also be AF symptom - time will tell!

misstiggiwinkle · 30/07/2016 19:12

Well isn't this turning out to be a lucky thread! Congrats Midrog!

Pyjamas I'm one day behind you I think at 4dpo and I have nothing, other than a dodgy tum but I think that's from DHs cooking last night Blush

I have a clear memory of last time I was pregnant at around 5-6 dpo I got a sore throat and coldy symptoms that disappeared over night and then at about 10 dpo I needed to pee about every 10 minutes. I'm watching out for them again!

I've had a few chemicals though over the last 7 months and none had the symptoms. I'm just hoping for a good strong line this time

misstiggiwinkle · 30/07/2016 19:16

Oh I forgot to ask, does anyone know much about cm? I vaguely thought it is supposed to dry up once you've ov'd but mine still seems to be there, not quite full blown ewcm but not far off. I do have pcos so wondering whether my body might consider a second attempt at ovulating

Vanillaradio · 30/07/2016 20:08

A few bfps already and it's not even August yet!Smile Congratulations!
Ds asked me today if I had a baby in my tummy. Now, I know this is because the very heavily pregnant manager at his nursery went on maternity leave on Friday and they all had cake (sure way to get him interested in something! ), but I would love it if he was right. 0 symptoms though at 6 dpo, don't think anything is happening this month.
As for cm, sorry I'm pretty clueless. I tend to get it more before af than when ovulating so not sure I'm any help.....

Wibblewobble100 · 30/07/2016 21:35

Wow congrats on BFPs, Brilliant news. I'm CD 23 of a pretty regular 30 day cycle. Not sure when I ovulated as never had much luck with opks. Managed to DTD 5/6 days in fertile week though. Probably planning to test on Thursday/ Friday. Quite tired this month but no other symptoms but didn't have any last time. FC for everyone else.
Just out of interest, at what point would you consider chatting to your GP when TTC unsuccessfully.... I'm 35 and trying for 6 months... It's too early still isn't it?

everdene · 30/07/2016 22:40

Thanks to everyone for your kind congratulations, I'm so pleased. Staying with some friends tonight and I don't know if they twigged I'm not drinking (bet they have!).

Congratulations too Midrog!

I have felt v tired and a big grumpy at times today, boobs are still hurting too.

Wibble I think doctors will help if you are +35 and have been trying more than six months.

ginandcake · 30/07/2016 23:00

Congratulations to all the BFPs, hopefully this will be a lucky bus for all!

Normally it's about 12 months but if you're 35 they'll probably do some tests, it's worth asking.

How did it go with the GP dani?

Upthetree100 · 31/07/2016 00:45

Congratulations Holzy ever and midrog!!!!!!! Loving that we've got so many bfp's before August is even here! FX for this being a lucky thread for everyone.

I've been getting pink discharge when wiping and AF is due any day. I thought that wasn't a good sign and true enough, BFN on my second test- absolutely gutted. Sometimes I wonder why I am so hopeful each month,,,, 2 years and not even a blummin squinter!! But I've always thought it would be better to be slim fit and healthy while pg and I'm uncomfortable with all the weight I've put on recently so I will use it as motivation to get healthy!!

Oh and my first month of opk's went absolutely tits up I'm obviously an incompetent charter! Must try harder next month. Sorry rant over!

Will stay on the August bus as I'm due to test at the end of the month next.
Good luck and fingers crossed for all you lovely ladies X X

Upthetree100 · 31/07/2016 00:46

Oh yes- how did it go dani? X

Eva30 · 31/07/2016 08:13

Congratulations midrog! Great start on this bus.
I got static smiley today, cd16, need to go and do some baby dancing!

everdene · 31/07/2016 08:51

Get baby dancing Eva!

Sorry to hear you're finding it tricky Upthetree - charting did really help me once I got into it.

Writerwannabe83 · 31/07/2016 09:02

It's been 10 days since my positive OPK and I took a FRER this morning and it came back negative.

I know it's still early but I'm currently shitting myself as DH has just announced he's booked a surprise 12 night holiday to Majorca next April!!!

If I am pregnant the baby would be due 3 days after our outbound flight. Shit, shit, shit.

BakerJ · 31/07/2016 11:27

Hi everyone, just checking in after my holiday, so lovely to see some BFPs! Congratulations!
I had a lovely 2 weeks relaxing drinking all the wine so am hoping that de-stressing will have helped this month. Only a week till AF is due and so far managing not to symptom spot too much.
writer do you have travel insurance? That might cover you if you did need to cancel the holiday? X

Writerwannabe83 · 31/07/2016 11:52

I don't know if he has and if I ask he will want to know why I'm asking....

This is just awful timing.

I'm not really due to test until Tuesday but I went into panic mode last night when he told me. I don't have any HPT's in the house and won't be able to get any until Wednesday anyway.

Writerwannabe83 · 31/07/2016 12:03

Can I ask how people who don't measure their BBT accurately know when they ovulate? Or can't you?

I know we can use OPKS and see the surge but ovulation can occur between 12-48 hours after that surge so there's no way of actually knowing when it happens is there as temperature is the only accurate way of monitoring ovulation.

I only ask because I had strong OPKS on the night of the 21st July and on the morning of the 22nd July, so does that mean potentially I may not even have ovulated until the 23/24th?

Me and DH had sex on the 21st but if I didn't ovulate for another few days after that (I.e 12-48 hours after the surge) then taking a HPT is pretty pointless now anyway isn't it?

I could only be about 8dpo despite having an LSH surge 10 days ago.

BakerJ · 31/07/2016 14:27

I don't use OPKs or track my temps but I've noticed my body has some tells so I can usually pinpoint ovulation.
For me, I get a teeny bit of pink spotting at ovulation, abdominal pain, and a change in cm.

It's not exact though, I think temping is the only way to know for sure.

Does sound like it could be too early for you to test though, if you're able to hold out a few more days before testing again you'll hopefully get a clear result X

McBaby · 31/07/2016 14:41

Ff has finally confirmed my ovulation :) on cd21 after miscarrige and currently on 6dpo. My pregnancy tests from the miscarrige have been negative for a few days so I now need to wait till next weekend!

Prive120 · 31/07/2016 16:36

Following everyone's progress and have everything crossed for us all!

I'm now 6DPO and started spotting today. I NEVER spot. Also been very emotional, sleepy and aching including stitch like pains which is odd too.
AF isn't due until next Friday/Saturday. Desperate to test but worried it's too early for a BFP. WWYD?

Writerwannabe83 · 31/07/2016 16:40

Absolutely don't test!!!!!

Even if this is implantation bleeding (which would still be very early) it will still take about 3 days for there to be enough HCG in your system to get a line.

I think 9dpo is the earliest its considered acceptable to test, and even then it's only done by crazy POAS addicts Grin

McBaby · 31/07/2016 16:42

prive120 I would hold out till 10 dpo if you implanted today which is causing the sporting it will take a few days for hgc to increase and test to become positive.

Prive120 · 31/07/2016 16:52

Thanks... I'll keep my fingers crossed instead and wait it out. X
