Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Sorry jem FlowersWineCake I think cycle 9 has a lucky ring to it?!

Sorry for you too kav Flowers but yay for new job, congratulations! Star

DH sent me this pic yesterday afternoon. He'd popped into Holland & Barrett to get some ginger sweets for nausea for me, bless him. I clearly have booze on the brain thought as I thought they were something to do with gin Hmm

Pissed off! Crashed out this morning . AF here which means I had a 21 day cycle!! No idea what's going on with me these last few months!!

Sorry london

kav too. Congratulations on your job.

skip any news?

marmite lol. I'll have a big drink for you.

miwelaisjacydo · 18/08/2016 09:50

AF arrived. Ha marmite that made me smile

HepKestrel · 18/08/2016 10:55

peaches, miw, Jem FlowersFlowersFlowers sorry for AF.
have lots of Wine for me !!!! and brie..... i love brie....

hmm.... wine and cheese......

i am just knackered. just feel floored this week. don't know if this is "real" or just due to the rollercoaster of emotions recently.

I'm not a morning person, but last few days, really struggled.

I think i am looking forward to appt on saturday, but part of me is still expecting them to say "don't be stupid, your not pregnant, just lazy - go do some exercise".

Doesn't help that with constipation and bloating, my stomach inflates on a daily basis. => unhelpful with "bump-spotting".

hope you are feeling better skip and your kitty comes home after her adventure.

FXSkip · 18/08/2016 12:18

so I'm still bleeding heavily, but my babycat came home last night after a record 5 days away!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

so I am very grateful to you all for your thoughts and advice. Next up for the collective consciousness is for us all to get our BFPs - get on those mantras ladies!!

Hep you are passed the point of no return for your embryo, a glass of wine (or 5, if drunk sloooowwly) won't do any harm. Women all over the world eat brie, sushi etc.

There are studies which have shown brie to contain an essential vitamin for healthy babies (K2) - you could do the research to weigh up the odds of picking up listeria from brie vs the increased bone and arterial function of the baby. If you are seriously looking to eliminate your chances of contracting listeria then outbreaks have been attributed to melons, beetroot, carrots, potatoes, celery.....and it's not possible to identify where the next outbreak will come from.

In my opinion, based on the research that I have done (if anyone is interested!!) the safest diet for you and your baby/future babies is going to be locally sourced, organic where necessary, not stored in supermarket refrigerators for weeks on end and as 'whole' and unprocessed as possible. Least amount of worrying, maximum health benefits for everyone, and the world. Sorry for long post.

Hep the exhaustion should pass soon, just take it easy and rest when you need to/when you can! T2 is when your energy typically picks up, so not long to go!

sorry for all the AFs everyone :(

HepKestrel · 18/08/2016 12:25

Fxskip so glad your cat has come home!!!! GrinGrinGrin

its true, that i pretty much was eating all the wrong things in the 1st trimester so shouldn't be too paranoid now !! had some nice prawns 10 days ago ....

I was minimally drinking in first trimester, as in max 1 small glass a night, maximum once or twice a week. especially after the negative blood test. but it was minimal, so oddly, i'm not stressing about it. Can't do anything about it now !!!

marmitecheesetoast · 18/08/2016 12:35

So glad your cat has come home Skip, what a relief! I bet you gave him a very big cuddle! Really hope your bleeding stops soon, how horrible for you. Are you off work?

I like the research on brie hehe! How about goats cheese?? Grin me and DH went out for a 'drink' and tea last night. I am slowly checking out all the alcohol-free beers. Not too bad as long they are ice cold. I nearly ordered steak until DH pointed out I would have to have it well-done Envy so had to settle for a halloumi salad and side of chips instead

marmitecheesetoast · 18/08/2016 12:36

Sorry peaches Sad please enjoy a large g&t for me! And fx for some lucky cycles to come all round

FXSkip · 18/08/2016 13:06

I did!! I went and cuddled him on the floor all night Hmm and no, I'm not off work so I'm knackered and grumpy lol!!

Goats cheese is the same, all 'unpasteurised' cheeses are 'off' the menu including feta! Unless you accept that by cutting out cheese you'll limit your exposure a minimal amount!

liveforthefight · 18/08/2016 13:33

Sorry for the AFS Flowers

Yay that the cats back!!

Damson9 · 18/08/2016 14:34

I know I've not been here for long, but I'm really glad to hear your cat's back :)

Ours are only just over a year old and they've only been going out for a few months; I've relaxed a lot, but I'm still petrified that they're going to go missing at some point.

They have a curfew at night, but one (I swear he can tell the time) has a habit of nipping out a few minutes before the cat flap locks and then refusing to come back in! Angry

AlexiaB · 18/08/2016 14:35

Sorry to those who got AFSadWineChocolateFlowers.

So happy your babycat came home SkipGrin

Kav congrats on your new job.

I'm 7dpo (maybe 6dpo) and fully stocked with ICs. Why am I already fighting the urge to poasHmm lol

LondonJem · 18/08/2016 15:30

Yaay skip so glad kitty cat is home!

😺😸😻😼😽

miwelaisjacydo · 18/08/2016 16:42

Right once AF disappears is it too much to DTD every day until am next due on I know this may sound mad but i can't cope with TWW. So what if I skip that part and just shag it out? 😉

Skip good advice there. The whole foods you can and can't eat during pregnancy is so confusing. Am one of those sad people who researches things to death before hand.

Damson9 · 18/08/2016 17:04

miw, I hear they're saying that pregnant women should be ok eating runny eggs now, though. I am over the moon! It would be a tough nine months without dippy eggs or carbonara!

kwick · 18/08/2016 17:56

I am soooo pleased your cat is back fxskip!!!!!
I am LOVING your food advice - I think you are absolutey right Grin
Very sorry you are still in MC - hopefully it will be over very soon.

marmite I had a rare steak last night - hopefully last one I will be having in a while Wink

LondonJem · 18/08/2016 18:19

So what if I skip that part and just shag it out? 😉

Miw I think this might be one of my favourite things I've read on mumsnet 😂

HepKestrel · 18/08/2016 20:22

damson running eggs! Really? Where is the this advice? I'd happily forgo brie for soft boiled eggs and Marmite soldiers....

AliceScarlett · 18/08/2016 20:27

Shagging out the TWW, amazing.

Yay! glad kitty came home 😁👍

I'm expecting AF on Monday, hate the TWW, just want to get onto cycle 10.

marmitecheesetoast · 18/08/2016 21:52

Yes am very happy on the amended runny eggs advice! I've been enjoying the odd poached egg but you've just given a hankering for soft boiled egg and marmite soldiers at the weekend hep! I'm not sure I've met anyone else who liked marmite soldiers dunked in yolk before, a kindred spirit!

Nice work on the steak kwick Grin

marmitecheesetoast · 18/08/2016 21:53

Loving the skipping out the 2ww by shagging through it, that would take some impressive stamina to keep it up all month!

FXSkip · 19/08/2016 10:17

I guess ultimately everything that you do carries some risk, pg or not, so its about weighing up the odds of risks you are willing to take.
Damson I don't know how you are dealing with that stress, it must be like waving your kids off to school for the first time, if school meant foraging in forests, avoiding predators and trying not to get trapped somewhere. Mine is an indoor only kitty due to his love of tiny warm spaces and general lack of common sense!
I am soooo onboard with shagging your way from AF to AF, in my experience ovulation can happen any time, LH surge doesn't always mean imminent eggy arrival so hell yea I am going to take this approach too.

Damson9 · 19/08/2016 14:08

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/runny-eggs-safe-for-pregnant-women-to-eat-says-report-a6844826.html

Knew I'd seen it somewhere. Sure I've seen more info more recently than that, though, which I imagine must have been when they released their "updated advice".

I remember thinking "Ah, this is clearly what my body's been waiting for," so I am trying to have high hopes again now :)

As for the kitties, at first, I watched them wherever they went and got really antsy when I couldn't see them. But they don't go far and they spend quite a lot of time at home anyway, and I know how much they love being outside (they will be sulking today as it's raining, though). She's fantastic, she sits on the gatepost like a little sentry, waiting for us to come home of an evening. It's adorable.

In other news, I am flying blind this month - we took last month off as I had a poorly timed HSG that I didn't want to put off any longer and sort of missed the boat with my tracking when I got back on the horse this month. I think we covered most bases, but I guess time will tell... I can't really decide if it makes this 2WW easier or not. I always pretend I'm not counting, but, of course, I can't help but know which DPO is it...

FXSkip · 19/08/2016 15:25

aww Damson thats cute!! I always have my heart in my mouth if my DK (dear kitty) isn't there to miaow away at me - usually he's just napping on his chair which is also good because then I can go and smell him and he smells all warm and snuggly no crazy cat lady here, no siree

Flying blind is the way to go - seriously! I don't know the stats but I feel like most of the bfps here have been when they had no idea when they'd ovulated. I may be wrong but I'm using that as my keep-calm mantra.

mc update: I think I am finally finished - Its now been 6 weeks since my '7 week scan' and I just can't believe that this is how I spent my summer Angry BUT a week today I am going on holiday - a girls only camping trip so I better a) stop bleeding completely and b) not ovulate while I am away. Fingers crossed!

HepKestrel · 19/08/2016 15:49

fxskip have a good holiday ! its probably good timing and will do you good.
