Hi boat and all the other newbies
Congratulations garden! So happy for you !
Managed to dtd last night but only day 7 so won't come to much sadly oh is working a way during my key days this cycle so this month will prob be a practice run! On a pos he isn't working away in August so I'm determined that's our month .

I'm currently having ( just 2 so far ) a smaller cycle since AF returning of 25 -26 days is that good or bad n what implications could that have on fertility ?

I think that's fine pumkin as long as your luteal phase is still long enough. Do you track your ovulation?

Report
Pumkinpie1 · 03/07/2016 21:17

Hi fleck
I was trying last month but no positive ovulation yet ! I was thinking I might have missed it going to try from day 9 to day 16 see if I can catch it this time.
From my body signs I think I ovulated around day 16 but not sure if it actually happened .
Is 9 - 10 days long enough for a luteal phase ?

Report
Fleck · 03/07/2016 21:42

I do think that is a bit short, should be 12-14 days ideally. It is quite hard to track ovulation I think though so possibly you just missed it. Without being too graphic I've found egg white cervical mucus to be a good indicator.

Cheers fleck, got my fingers crossed I ovulate early then to get a good luteal phase !

Pumkin I'm in the same boat as you. 2 cycles so far, both shorter than pre-baby (27-28 days), plus I think I'm ovulating late so LP is most definitely short Sad. These things take time to sort themselves out I guess - hopefully you'll see a progression this month and then you can try in earnest in August!

As for me, 4th morning of elevated temps this morning I think, so it looks like I ovulated on Thursday and am 4DPO today. We DTD at the right time but my LP was so short last cycle that I'm not too hopeful for a pregnancy this time. But I am really hoping for good progress in terms of LP; if AF doesn't turn up until after the 10th at least, I'll be happy.

I think your right jooni, it will just take time to get everyone back to normal after BF for so long.
I will try to keep tracking!
Good luck this cycle I'll have my fingers crossed for you and for a longer L phase

Oh, I thought the thread had gone quiet but it had somehow come off my watched threads.

Congratulations, Garden! That's such good news. Wishing you all the best.

boatrace I seem to remember having the same symptoms before AF returned! It was 2 months after DS started eating more solids and feeding less in the day so I guess it can take a while to kick in. It's a shame you might have to wean but it is what it is.

pumkin sorry your DH is away at the wrong time and hope next month is your month.

jooni fingers crossed your LP lengthens this month.

CD15 here and high on CBFM but only very faint line on IC, will be jumping DH just in case 😬

Hi all. Been having some light cramping which is making me hopeful that some part of my reproductive system is trying to wake up - I never thought I would be keen to see AF again! I've also cracked open a big pack of CB digi OPKs so will try and keep an eye out to see if anything happens this month.

I'm considering booking in to see an acupuncturist as I would like to try other stuff before trying to convince my boob fiend child to have less "boo". Has anyone tried one?

oracle hope your ovaries are kickstarting! I have heard of people using acupuncture for fertility but haven't myself. I did have it from my physio (they call it dry needling but same principle) when I had back problems after DS was born, it was very effective but not enjoyable! Obviously just need to make sure they are properly qualified and see that they use new needles!! I think I might be more inclined to try reflexology no needles but my feet are horrible...Shock

Still high and slightly stronger line on the IC so hoping to peak tomorrow.

I had acupuncture before having both of my dc's. I don't know if it worked as I still needed clomid but I really enjoyed it. I found it very relaxing and my acupuncturist was lovely, was almost like therapy as I talked to her about how I was feeling and she was a good listener. That might have been more helpful than the needles!

Let us know how it goes oracle!

Cd17 and still no peak on my monitor 😔 either LH surge was missed or I'm not ovulating yet so will have to see. Don't want to wean yet but might need to.

Sorry lullaby, how frustrating for you! Keep testing though, your body may be trying to ovulate and will manage eventually. I definitely get that each month at the moment with over a week of EWCM before I finally O. I didn't O until CD23 this month, with signs from CD14!

7DPO over here and trucking along. I'm constantly expecting AF as my LP has been super-short so far, but excited to have got to this point this time. I'm on Angus and B-50 and have dropped feeds to 2x a day, morning and evening, so hopefully things are getting back on track Smile

Hi guys! back from a lovely few days away which took my mind of the 2ww!

Great news garden! have you poas again? any stronger? wishing you a sticky one!!!!!!!!

let us know how the acupuncture goes oracle!

jooni 8dpo now.. .everything crossed for you!!! even if not your bfp month I hope the Angus and B-50 helps your LP lengthen!

Sorry lullaby its so frustrating but maybe you will ovulate late...keep testing! when does DH get back from his work trip,..,maybe you'll O in time for his return?!

11dpo here now... NO symptoms whatsoever :-( But at least it looks like my LP is >10 days this month (I've had several 25 day cycles prior to this) so thats good for next month if I'm not lucky this one.

I've got some internet cheapies here at home so now debating weather to risk the disappointment of testing with FMU tomorrow (12dpo) or testing my will power and holding out till monday and buying a CBD if AF hasn't arrived (or more OPKs if she has!)

what do you reckon? will power or no?!!

expat obviously the sensible thing to do would be to wait to test until Monday which is why I would be poas tomorrow morning and then getting annoyed with myself Wink

TheOracleAtSelfie · 07/07/2016 10:36

expat great news re: longer LP regardless though!

Thank you for the encouragement everyone! I suppose it might be our friend Angus delaying O? I was re-reading The Impatient Woman's Guide...and the author said she stopped taking it for that reason as then her LP was too short. I did get a nearly positive on IC this afternoon so maybe you're right and another O attempt is coming. So we DTD on CD15 & DH is out tonight but I requested he get home at a reasonable time so will again tonight if he obeys listens, and fingers crossed peak tomorrow.

Jooni fingers crossed on an improved LP this cycle at the very least, snap on dropping feeds to twice a day too was hoping going from 4 to 2 would be dramatic enough to kickstart although there has been the odd extra night feed as sleep is still not happening in this house! Have you read about CoQ10 as another potential useful supplement? Maybe not for you as you're not old though Wink

expat glad you had a nice time away and kept distracted. Great news your LP seems to be lengthening. I have no will power when it comes to waiting to test so I won't try to persuade you not to POAS!

Yes garden hoping all is well at your end.

Well I am starting to get hopeful for O as have EWCM, it was always a good sign before so fingers are crossed. I've also bought a basal thermometer for charting. Does anyone have any experience of doing this with PCOS?
expat - I definitely wouldn't have the willpower... I've been poas regularly "just in case" I have managed to conceive on a first ovulation before AF coming back.

Hi,

Is this thread still alive and well?!?!

I am still bf dd at 9months and ttc no 2. My periods are back (hurrah!) and my trusty monitor says I'm ovulating however as dd took nearly 2 years I don't have high hopes...

Anyway very keen to give it a go because I love being a mummy and don't really want to go back to work for long :)

expat 11DPO is fantastic! I'll be doing a naked victory dance if I get to that point this cycle Wink

Re when to test: you know, I know, we all know that it's best to wait till AF is late BUT you never know and those ICs are pretty sensitive... If you're prepared to "waste" a stick (since a neg will be unreliable) I don't see the harm in giving it a go tomorrow. I've heard of people getting BFPs at 9 and 10DPO so it could happen! Good luck.

lullaby not sure about Angus and delayed O, but I guess it works differently for different people. My O has been later than average both with and without Angus, so I put it down to the bfing. I actually O'd a few days earlier this cycle so I think it's actually helping me. Hopefully you'll see a proper peak soon!

OK, this is really stupid and out of character for me not, but I'm currently really kicking myself for eating half a fucking Trek flapjack and worriedly googling how much soy you need to eat for it to interfere with hormones/fertility. I was reading the packet as I scarfed nibbled it, and only realised when it was half gone that they contain soy protein, which is a phytoestrogen. I do realise that this is totally stupid and it's too late now anyway, but I'm now worrying that it will be just enough to tip the delicate balance of hormones which are miraculously still staving off AF and I'll have ruined my chances for this cycle Sad
