Hello ladies, I only posted a couple of times, but just to say I got my BFP yesterday (at 10DPO 😮) on cycle 8. My dd is 21 months and a bit of a boob monster, so I thought I was in for the long haul (my dd took 16 months) so I just wanted to reassure you that it is possible! Good luck the rest of you xxx

So my AF has finally returned (just like you bessy I feel wierd broadcasting this to a group of strangers)

Yay eclectic! No sign here, night weaned a few weeks ago, only feeding morning and evening

Yey that's great eclectic 😀- it is a bit weird a) being so happy to see it and b) posting it up for all the world to see 😜
East end - I night weaned at the start of march so it took another 2 months for period to arrive, sure yours will arrive (probably when you least expect it!) xx

Eastend I stopped feeding at night about a week after Bessy, and it sounds as though my period started a week after hers (about 2 months after night weaning) so hopefully it won't be much longer for you.

Bessy it seems as though I'm one step behind you, so I'm counting on you getting your BFP!

Ah, looks like mine was a CP then. Negative test yesterday and af today. Gutted. We were just starting to get excited...

TTC is such a rollercoaster of emotions!

Take time to savour doing things that you can't whilst pregnant... Soft cheeses, pate, rare steak, alcohol... And before you know you'll have another BFP.

Managed to give the LO a feed of v milky weetabix through a bottle this morning instead of his usual BF. This is a major achievement as he has never really taken to the bottle or formula. Now he's only 3 weeks away from his first birthday I thought it was worth trying something quite familiar and after a lot of encouragement he suddenly wolfed it down. Wooop wooop! May go and get myself some new bras to celebrate!

Are you in the 2ww Bessy? Any symptom spotting? Not much to report from here. I felt very different when pregnant with my first, and I feel pretty darn normal now, so not expecting much this cycle.

Hey Eclectic yeah I am in the TWW, was expecting to start yesterday or today but nothing yet. Trying to not get my hopes up as have read on here that the first free cycles can be longer than usual. Not really got any symptoms - but then when I got pregnant with dd it was the first month in 9 months of ttc that I was sure I wasn't pregnant! 😜

I had a doctors appointment today to discuss options as I still haven't had a period 21 months after having my daughter and almost a year since having the implant removed. She said she wouldn't do any blood tests to check hormone levels as there is an obvious reason that I'm not ovulating as I'm still breastfeeding. Im so disappointed. I'm not willing to take away my daughters biggest source of comfort so weaning isn't an option.

That sounds like a complete cop out dillydollydarling. She doesn't know it is or isn't because of breastfeeding any more than she knows it is or isn't because of PCOS, hypothyroidism or any number of things without doing the bloods. Very frustrating for you. My daughter is the same age, still feeds quite a bit, but my periods returned at 13 months...

I'm going to make another appointment with someone else and ask them to do bloods. If it is breastfeeding that stopping me getting pregnant, that's fine, I can then make the decision on whether or not to wean. But without knowing for sure that's not a decision I want to make!
