Thank you! Hope the rest of your pregnancy and labour goes smoothly Hopsalong :) Know what you mean, can understand why women would choose to stop breastfeeding sooner so that their body is theirs again for a bit before subsequent DC.

So, took a test at 3.30am once DS was resettled. The test line was as strong as the control, so guess that's a definite BFP :) Can't believe it! Was getting a bit down earlier in the month, even though just cycle 3, as seemed so many people I knew were announcing pregnancies, due or just had little ones. Just shows you never know what's round the corner. Obviously still early days, somewhere between 5 and 7 weeks I think, but feeling hopeful for the moment with having a strong line and having symptoms. Will be sticking around this thread for a bit longer though. Good luck ladies!

Dolphindot11 · 28/03/2017 07:18

Congratulations baking!! That's lovely news!! Good luck with everything hopsalong! That's really cool that a test can work with milk, who knew?! I'm pretty relieved as yesterday my LG didn't ask to feed once until bedtime which I wasn't expecting cos the day before and every day the last couple of weeks she's fed lots of times. Hopefully it was just a phase, phew!

Bessyboot · 28/03/2017 11:55

Ahh congratulations bakingmad that's amazing news 😀 !! Hope it all goes well from here
I have never heard of doing a pregnancy test with milk but suppose it makes sense - is quite a cool idea actually. I was gutted to see that the pack of 30 tests I bought for about 3 quid off Amazon last time are now out of date! Have ordered some more as I am a proper cheapskate no way would I pay £5 for one test 😜

Eclecticmama · 28/03/2017 14:06

Yey baking that's super news! So delighted for you! Flowers

bakingmad83 · 28/03/2017 20:08

Thanks ladies!

Great news Dolphin that your little one managed to go through the daytime without a feed, fingers crossed it continues :)

I'm with you on not spending much on tests Bessyboot, but I wasn't going to be anywhere with cheaper shops till the end of the week (we're pretty rural) and didn't have the patience to wait that long, as was pretty sure I was pregnant :) Shame your previous tests are out of date - hopefully you won't need to use too many of the new batch before you get your bfp! I've now got a spare test, couple of years expiry date, but don't think we'll be having #3, though never say never I suppose :)

Hope it won't be long before you get your bfp Eclectic!

Eclecticmama · 31/03/2017 23:17

How is everyone? Any news? Any more bfp?

My DD is doing really well with night weaning. I haven't breast fed her at night for a couple of weeks now :D

Bessyboot · 01/04/2017 06:56

Hi Eclectic- great news on the night weaning 😀 It's been 3 weeks since we started here and it's still going well. DD sleeps in cot next to bed with side down and usually makes it to 5:45 before climbing in, over the top of dh to lie on top of me 😀 I'm not feeding her in bed anymore so if she won't settle I take her downstairs for milk.
I've been temping since we started and still no sign of ovulation yet though 😕 I'm probably just too impatient but anyone have any idea how long after night weaning it may take to restart?
How is your temping going curligirlie? I've got my new thermometer but it reads to two decimal places so takes forever for the reading to stabilise and beep so I've gone back to using the old one 😜
xx

Dolphindot11 · 01/04/2017 07:00

Hi eclectic that's great! Well done on the night weaning! No news to report here. Most days my LG has gone back to having a couple of feeds and still lots at night. So we have gone backwards really! I'm just going with it for now tho...she's teething badly with molars and incisors and going through a clingy phase. Bf seems to help her so much, wish I didn't have to stop! I'll try and cut down again when it seems easier for her

bakingmad83 · 02/04/2017 06:57

Well done with night weaning Eclectic and Bessyboot!

Bessyboot sorry I can't answer your question, but think it must vary from woman to woman, as periods returned here when DS was still feeding about 3 times at night, but I'd cut back on daytime feeds a lot. Tbh DS still feeds at least once at night and went back to a few times a couple of weeks ago when his last two teeth were pushing through. Hopefully you won't have to wait long!

It's hard Dolphin when teething gives them so much comfort, but I've always just gone with it too, as figured will settle down. DS had a sickness bug a few weeks back and pretty much all day just fed and slept on me, but a couple of days later was back to no feeds in the day.

Got my booking appointment this week, as in theory I'm 8 weeks. It will be interesting to see how far along when I get 12 week scan, but read that can be performed between 10 and 13 weeks, so being out mightn't matter :)

Bessyboot · 03/04/2017 08:51

Hope the booking in app goes well baking 😀 Do you have any idea when you ovulated so can use that to know how many weeks you are or will it all be a bit of guesswork until the first scan?
DD still only has the front 8 teeth - we have all the incisors and molars still to come through 😳.
She didn't feed much in the day all weekend because of the lovely weather we were outside so much, I missed it a bit though! It's such a weird feeling isn't it, I want her to feed less but I'm a bit sad when she does!

Dolphindot11 · 13/04/2017 21:35

Hi how is everyone doing? Wanted to ask ur advice...the last few days its been really hurting when my LO feeds...it hurts most when she latches and then gets a little better. I was thinking it might be due to ovulation, has anyone experienced this? I'm still a bit confused about my opks...I think there was a nearly positive last weekend, but it was still a tiny bit lighter than the control line so I know that doesn't count but I had drunk 2 glasses of water so maybe it didn't work properly. Or did anyone have pain when feeding, before taking a test, and turned out to be pregnant? Any advice much appreciated :)

Bessyboot · 14/04/2017 14:36

Hiya, I was very sore just in one side while feeding for a week or so a couple of months back - it can't have been ovulation or pregnancy as I haven't ovulated yet! Sure some people on here have said that it got sore before they got a positive test though so good luck 😀 Xx

Dolphindot11 · 14/04/2017 15:26

Thanks Bessyboot, how's everything with you?

MummyBearToTeddy · 14/04/2017 15:39

Hiya can I join in? I've been ttc for two years and bf most of that time. Weaned my Bear in January but still no luck. Been trying properly and only actually weaned because I thought it would help and now regret it. Trying SMEP this month but don't understand it 😂 DTD the last three nights in a row and every other day before then since af finished.

We have one little boy of 27mths and would love another but getting really disheartened. Would love some cosmic ordering and babydust but both are in short supply round our way!

Bessyboot · 14/04/2017 19:05

Welcome MummyBear - sounds like you're doing SMEP right to me, I got the kindle book because it was free 😀
We are fine thanks Dolphin, dd is used to not feeding at night now and slept for 12 hours last night! 😳 Think that will be a one off but the 2 hour lie in until 8am was much appreciated 😀. Trying to just feed her 2/3 times a day now which is easy the 3 days she's at nursery but more difficult the 4 days that she's with me all the time. How are you doing - are you in the 2ww then? Xx

MummyBearToTeddy · 14/04/2017 19:25

Thank you @bessyboot. I got a +opk test on Wednesday morning so hopefully covered if we don't BD tonight. I'm knackered! I know sleep is important for fertility but no one has told my toddler 😆

Dolphindot11 · 14/04/2017 20:58

Hi Mummybear! Wow you must have felt amazing after all that sleep Bessyboot! I think I'm in the 2ww, just really hoping I did actually ovulate. Fingers crossed!?!

MummyBearToTeddy · 14/04/2017 21:04

@dolphindot11 I'm in the tww as well. 1dpo here so only just. Want to be cycle buddies?

Dolphindot11 · 14/04/2017 21:18

yes please Mummybear! I've never been cycle buddies with anyone before! I'm (hopefully!) 5 dpo

MummyBearToTeddy · 14/04/2017 21:38

@dolphin yay! Ohhhh exciting!

MummyBearToTeddy · 15/04/2017 08:34

Good morning lovelies 😚

I'm obviously new hear and I'll probably ask you all questions other people have before so forgive me. But did anyone intend bf as long as they did? I was giving up the second night of his life and sad I wasn't making it to my six month target... then a month past, then six, then a year, 18mths and 2yrs 😆

Bessyboot · 15/04/2017 09:10

We really struggled to bf at the start. DD was 3 weeks early so maybe it was that but she would latch on but not suck! So we had 3.5 weeks of trying to bf then pumping and bottle feeding her the ebm until she just finally got it one day!
I just assumed that everyone fed to a year and then you stopped, it wasn't until I started reading more and meeting people who bf longer that I realised it was even an option 😜 Then I decided that it would be silly to try and stop at a year as dd likes it so much and that is when I started back at work so seemed like the worst possible time to try, plus I still like it so didn't really want to!
I hadn't factored in that it may have an affect on ttc though. A number of my friends have got pregnant whilst bf so I just assumed it wouldn't be a problem! However she's now almost 19months and I haven't ovulated yet and as she took 9 months to conceive I doubt that this time round will be quick either. So we might weaned about 6 weeks ago ( which was much easier than I had anticipated so she was obviously ready - in fact since then she has been sleeping much better and now sleeps in her cot next to our bed with the side down rather than in our bed (where she would sleep like a starfish so dh and I would perch on the edge all night!).
I still want to feed her to at least 2 years and if I manage to get pg then as long as she wants to. Haven't decided what to do yet if we make it to her birthday and still no cycle 😕 Xx

MummyBearToTeddy · 15/04/2017 09:29

@bessybot has your cycle not returned yet? I was told 100%!that bf held off your periods, especially if you bf exclusively, and so when I reached 8weeks pp and it came back like clockwork I was a tad annoyed! It was great because we could start ttc the next one immediately (our first was a bit of a surprise and no trying necessary as we'd only slept together twice. Been together 3mths 😬). However two years on and nothing has happened. I night weaned at 26mths and expressed the feeds I wasn't doing so I have extra stock building up. I too see people getting pg whilst feeding so I never thought it would be an issue. A dr told me a couple of months ago though that it was probably why. I really regret stopping the end of last month because I don't think at 2 he was feeding enough to make a difference.

Dolphindot11 · 15/04/2017 12:35

I didn't really plan on feeding this long either it just kind of happened! She's still really attached to it so I've tried cutting down as much I can without upsetting her and we're just on nighttime feeds now. Sometimes during the day if she asks too. I went on the pill for a bit to get my periods back someone on here recommended it and it worked, not 100% sure if I'm ovulating but hopefully I am!

MummyBearToTeddy · 15/04/2017 12:59

It's so lovely to see all the BFP on here and shows that it does work for people. Cycle 25 and I think I need to face the facts that I got lucky once and need to just appreciate what I have. I do wish we were bf properly still and regret cutting down in order to conceive.

We have a children's party today though so that might make me feel lucky I only have one!
