Really good news! Well done Lucie!

stealthbanana · 25/07/2016 11:47

Fantastic news lucie. Hope those follies stay juicy!

MPP81 · 25/07/2016 19:50

Brilliant newss, Lucie! So pleased for you! What time are you there Wednesday? Will we be bumping into each other in the waiting room?? :-)

lucieloos · 25/07/2016 20:37

Ohhh you're Wednesday and Friday MPP! I'm at 810 first one how about you?

OP posts:
MPP81 · 25/07/2016 22:33

haha, 8.30! May well bump into you Wednesday then! My latest email from reprofit says to send the results of my ultrasound via email including all details including pictures and medical report. Do I just ask CRGW for all that? Will they know what to give me?
In other news, I phoned the clinic we were referred to by our doctor today to change my address, and the lady on the phone informed me that we are in the next batch to be called and she'll be in touch next week! As I've mentioned, we know we won't be entitled to IVF (and hoping this cycle works out, fx) but is it still worth keeping that appointment when it comes? I suppose it can't hurt, and I'm rather impressed that it didnt take the 18 months they first told us it would, but if its a bit pointless I dont want to take up an appointment that someone else could have.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

lucieloos · 25/07/2016 23:00

Haha brilliant yep you will be in after me! I will keep an eye out for you. I've never sent pictures to Reprofit. Maybe that's just a standard email thing they send out. I just ask for the follicles sizes and lining thickness and then email them over to Reprofit that's all you need really. What clinic are you referring to that has been in touch? Do you mean the NHS one? Why won't you be entitled to IVF with them? I would still go along and see what they have to say. If it is NHS at the Heath I have found them really good and I could pretty much choose when I wanted to start.

OP posts:
MPP81 · 25/07/2016 23:46

Yes, the NHS one at the Heath. We won't be entitled because I already have one DC (14). I've been told we may be offered clomid or something, but with DH's swimmers, that might not be much help. The lady on the phone was lovely though. I'll keep an eye out for you wednesday too. Or maybe we should work out a secret wink/hand signal/carry a newspaper with the page turned to the sports section Wink Grin

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 07:36

Ah ok I would have thought the gp could have prescribed you clomid though if that's all they were going to offer. I would still go along anyway you have nothing to lose and may as well see what they have to say. Maybe they don't realise you have a dc and will offer you ivf?! Haha yes we definitely need to work out a secret wink or something!

Exciting that you will be at reprofit at the same time! Hope all goes well for you both

I did another test this morning, had the worlds worst cramps last night but thankfully no bleeding.

I'm 12dp5dt - when do the lines get as dark as the control? I think they are getting a little darker each time but it's still like half as strong as the control...

I could really do with having the blood tests now!

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 07:51

Itsme, I think it will probably vary for everyone. I looked back at mine and they were as dark from about the equivalent of 17-18dpo but it didn't work out for me anyway. It could be that yours start to change a bit more over the next few days. If you feel like you want to have the blood tests then just ring up and tell your clinic you got a BFP. I'm sure you must be really close to OTD now anyway.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 26/07/2016 07:55

Itsme on my ICS o would say my test line is just about the same as the control today! And I'm 5+4.

Itsme247 · 26/07/2016 08:03

OK I've only got one more day to wait for OTD so ill call tomorrow, wfh Friday and Monday so hopefully can get them done then.

I wish the darkness of lines was something I didn't stress about!

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 08:49

Oh yes as Sammy said it depends what type of test you are doing as if they are cheapies then will definitely take longer for them to get as dark. I was 5+ weeks for those too as they are rubbish. It was the frer that was dark around 17-18 dpo. I would try and get the bloods done on weekdays so that they can be done 48 hours apart otherwise they will be 72 hours apart and you will have to use one of the online calculator things to work out true doubling time.

Sounds like you have a really good plan in place Lucie. Did you decide if you were going to have a transfer this time? And did you hear back re your bloods? Just phoned my surgery and apparently mine are all within normal range but she wouldn't give me the ranges and my levels over the phone. Need to go back for a repeat prescription for 5mg folic acid so will pick them up then. If my levels are fine when taking double the dose I guess I am ok to keep on with that but will take the 5mg when actually having treatment.

Hope your scans are ok tomorrow MPP and Lucie.

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 10:49

Thanks trixie just had my final blood results this morning. My vitamin b12 is normal but the rbc folate is higher than the reference range. From what I can see this isn't a bad thing as the main reason the test is run is to check for deficiencies which I obviously don't have so any baby should have a plentiful supply. I'm wondering if it is because I have been supplementing with the 5mg folic acid since the ectopic and maybe now I should drop back to normal dose. If everything goes ok over the next few days then yes we are going to go for fresh transfer based on these results. Glad yours were all ok. I have been looking up mthfr since researching folate and have been wondering whether to get the test done. Should you be taking methyl folate though if you are positive for that or is that what the 5mg one is?

OP posts:
JustTrixie · 26/07/2016 11:14

Crossing my fingers that things continue to go well for you Lucie with this cycle. Yes, I guess that means you can drop back to normal dose, how long was it you were supposed to take the higher dose for? I was a bit confused re the methyl folate vs folic acid and still am tbh. My Zita West supplement contains methyl folate rather than folic acid. I remember asking Dr. G whether I should take folate or folic acid and he said either was fine. I did actually get some methyl folate off Amazon though and have been taking that together with the Zita West supplement recently.

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 11:31

Well it was me that asked for the higher dose really rather than something they offered me. I just thought that it would be a good idea if my folate levels were going to be depleted and they were happy to give it. I asked for a 3 month supply but they didn't really say how long to take it for just because it wasn't really their idea. Yes from what I can see methyl folate is the way to go for mthfr as your body can't process the synthetic version? I can't find too much info on higher than normal folate levels I hope it's not a bad thing and something else wrong with me?!

JustTrixie · 26/07/2016 11:41

Ah, I remember now. I wouldn't have thought so, could you ask your clinic/ ask Dr. Sher just to put your mind at rest? Yes, I am heterozygous (only one rather than two of the genes affected) so although I process folic acid I don't process it properly (I can't remember the exact %) I think they say to take a high dose to cover themselves.

MPP81 · 26/07/2016 12:45

Lucie, I did wonder if its because DH doesn't have any DC, but a little investigation said that would only be the case if my DC didnt live with us, and she does, so I've no idea. The initial referral letter just said we 'meet some of the criteria for referral'. Twas the internet which told me we wouldn't be eligible for IVF so we've been working on that assumption. Glad your blood results were ok!

Itsme, I've also read that the ICs take longer to get darker. I would definitely do as the others suggest and book in for a blood test if it eases your mind a little.

Trixie, glad your blood tests are ok too!

Todays questions... Are the orgalutran and ovitrelle injections the same as the gonal f? They are pre-filled too, so I just do them the same way, in the same spot? Anything in particular I should know about them? The orgalutran ones seem to have massive airbubbles. Does anyone know if I get rid of those the same as I would do if there are any in the gonal-f? I think I may order my next lot from a UK supplier. I love instructions. They help me understand things a bit more and I'm feeling rather lost without them!

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 13:11

Ah right that makes sense then trixie! Oh and brilliant idea I'm going to post a question to dr sher as he will look at it quicker than the clinic.

MPP, it's definitely worth going along for the initial consultation then just to talk things through and see what they are able to offer you.

The orgalutran and Ovitrelle are really easy if they are the pre filled ones. As you said you just stab them in the same place around the belly button area and off you go. I'm nt sure about the air bubbles I normally just try flicking or drawing some air in before injecting. There will probably be you tube videos on those too if you look them up but they are really straight forward.

MPP81 · 26/07/2016 13:35

Ah brilliant, thanks Lucie! From reading these forums, I've seen that there have been times when you guys have had to mix things, and I remember broken vials and things, so I wasn't sure if I should be doing anything else with them before injecting.

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 13:42

That's mainly for Menopur MPP which is a stimulation drug instead of Gonal. Also I have Cetrotide which is the same as orgalutran just a different brand but that involves a bit of mixing too. You are lucky you have all the prefilled ones.

loopylou1984 · 26/07/2016 16:38

Itsme - if I were you I would just focus on those positive tests and forget about bloods unless you have reason to believe any things wrong (bleeding/pain etc). I found the blood tests very stressful, calling up for the results i was shaking. Up to you though, if you think it's worth it for the reassurance then go for it! Xx

Itsme247 · 26/07/2016 16:59

I called the clinic and they went straight to scan scheduling rather than offering bloods - which I thought was weird. My actual nurse is calling back tonight hopefully so will see what she thinks.

I have been way more crampy the last day or so, I do literally feel like I could come on any second, but I don't know if it's because my ohss is calming down that I can actually feel twinges down there more...

This whole thing is far too stressful. I'll get the bloods done if I can.
