Hi all. We are back and I haven't caught up yet but I hope there has been some good news while we were away. The holiday was ace if a bit hard at time and baby Rowan is now safe and sound in the family mausoleum type thing. We got back to a letter with my results too. I have no Factor V Leidon or prothrombin mutations, antithrombin, Protein C and free Protein S are all within normal range. My thrioid is fine and there is no evidence of Lupus. I have to go back in and get some more bloods drawn though as the anticardiolipin test didn't get done, so they are goin gto redo the antiphospholips tests. So mstly good news - unless the anticardiolipin shows up something then we have nothing bad going on in any of those tests. Next stage after this is to do karyotyping, then we would be onto doing private tests to look for anything. DH is trying to get a sperm analysis done too, just in case. I think I am happy about this - it does mean an unexplained and maybe getting NK cells done etc, which means we don't have an explanation. But it also means there oculd be nothing wrong at all apart from bad luck and my age and we could be fine next time round.

loopylou1984 · 20/07/2016 17:13

Really Lucie? Thanks for letting me know. Based on my levels doubling every two days it won't be worth doing another one until at least Tuesday then!

Banana - you can buy sharps bins on Amazon?!
Love that your chemist is offering to get your drugs cheaply! Sorry that you're having to buy all that though.

MPP!! Amazing news, congratulations!!! Horst that you can get started now.

Lucie - I can't believe they've messed your bloods up! Angry
I'm pleased you're not having to pay for the new test. It's the least they could do!

Brenna - welcome back!
I'm glad you've been able to lay Rowan to rest with his family.
Good news about your test results too!

MPP81 · 20/07/2016 17:22

Hi Brenna! I'm so glad the trip went OK for you. It must have been incredibly difficult. Good news on the results too. I hope the remaining one doesn't take too long for you.

AF has just arrived!! I guess this means we are go! Having a little trouble with timings. Lucie, can I brain pick? What is the likelihood of needing to be in Czech before CD12? The reason I ask is this...
If I count today as CD1, all scans etc would be done before the weekend we're away. CD8 scan on wednesday and CD10 scan would be the Friday we go, so I could get that done before we leave. We come back on Sunday morning (CD12) and could get a flight Sunday evening to be in Czech for the Monday (CD13). However, If I count tomorrow as CD1, then the CD10 scan would be due on the Saturday we are away, and the trip is pretty much immovable. So, could I have the CD10 scan on CD9 or CD11? Would that cause a problem do you think? Sorry for lots of questions again! I've a feeling I'm going to become something of an annoyance to you (and everyone else) in the next few weeks!

Borisisback · 20/07/2016 18:30

Mpp - take advice from others - I'm no expert but to give you my experience I had a scan on day 9, triggered in day 11 and eggs were collected on day 13. Egg collection is in the morning only at reprofit. We flew to vienna on day 12 and spent an overnight at the airport before going (driving) to bruno. I'd not reccomend the driving but other than that it all worked for us. Good luck :)

JustTrixie · 20/07/2016 19:23

Congratulations on the 2-3 weeks Sammy!

How frustrating Lucie! I really hope your results come back normal after all this hassle.

Fantastic news MPP! And so exciting that you are off! FX for you.

Welcome back Brenna Smile

lucieloos · 20/07/2016 19:28

Brenna, great news about all your test results so far and that you've been able to lay rowan to rest. I'm glad it all went ok.

Sammy, yes I would try next Tuesday for your 3+ Maybe your hcg might have shot up a bit by then and you would be nearly 4 weeks by then so should be a safe bet. Had my bloods repeated tonight. Hopefully that's it now and results should be in Friday / Monday. I get all my sharps bins on
eBay / Amazon too haha.

MPP, so excited your af has arrived. Im only on day 4 now so we are going to be really close together! Right lets get you sorted. Where does the flight on the Sunday evening fly into? I know the Ryanair one flies direct to Brno but that leaves stansted around 2pm so I presume you wouldn't be flying direct? As Boris said your EC could well be day 13 and they are very early morning so if you did fly into say Prague on the Sunday evening you would need to also get the bus to Brno which would be quite a trek.

When did af turn up today and is it proper flow or spotting?

Where are you having your scans? I'm sorry but my memory is hazy now but you are in South Wales right? If that's the case and you are planning on having them at crgw they don't do them on weekend anyway. You have a couple of options if af turned up in the afternoon today you can count tomorrow as day 1 so you can have your scans on day 7 (wedn) and day 9 (fri) it really won't make a difference to anything they just want to check the follicles are growing and their sizes etc. I have done these days many times. You can then fly to Czech on the Monday (day 12). Otherwise if you count today as day 1 you can have your scans on the same days but will be day 8 and 10 of your cycle but you will have to make sure that you can get a flight and a transfer to get you to Brno Sunday evening. I would probably go with tomorrow as day 1 personally. Also if you are going to crgw for the scans then ring them first thing and book them in as they can get busy. Try and get as early in the morning as you can so you have time to email the results to the doctor and they have time to get back to you with any instructions.

Don't worry about asking as many questions as you like. I know I had loads the first time I went.

Do you know where you are going to stay?

MPP81 · 20/07/2016 20:10

Thanks for your fast responses, Boris and Lucie!
Right, AF turned up about 4pm, and its more than spotting but not full flow, but then again, its rarelly full flow anyway, and timing would work better for us if we count today as cd1, as long as I dont need to be in Czech before CD12!

We'd be flying from Bristol to Prague and the Monday flight is an evening one too, so we will take the Sunday. I've looked up buses on the student agency and they go til quite late, so we should be able to get to Brno (rather shattered, I imagine!). We've tentatively reserved a room at the Orea Hotel Voronez, with the option to cancel if needs be. Do you know what the taxi service is like there? Would we have any issue getting taxis to Reprofit, as it looks like its a fair trek on the map! Does this all soound ok? Thanks for the info on CRGW! I'll phone them first thing! It's all so confusing! I'm sure it'll get easier, but I'm so grateful for your help!!

lucieloos · 20/07/2016 20:44

Ok well at 4pm the clinic would advise to count tomorrow as day 1. Think it's normally after 1pm. The only thing with getting the Bristol to Prague flight is that it doesn't arrive in Prague until 2105 and the student agency bus to Brno (stopping at bus station in central Prague first) departs from airport at 2135 so you wouldn't have time to get that. That would mean you would have to get a taxi from Prague airport to centre of Prague which is about 40 mins and then get the 2355 bus from the central station for the 2.5 hour journey to Brno arriving around 230am. You will be absolutely shattered and then possibly up first thing to be in the clinic around 730am for egg collection. It can be done if that's what you would prefer but I find it a lot easier nowadays to make the 3 hr journey to stansted and then 2 hr flight direct to Brno which leaves around 2pm. Brno is a tiny airport so you walk straight out and in your hotel in half an hour. Arrive around 6pm.

I've never used taxis in Brno as they have a really good tram system there which is very cheap so we just hop on the one which stops right outside the clinic but I'm sure your hotel would be able to call one for you.

Oh another tip for crgw ask to book with Jodie if you can she is really lovely. I'm not very keen on the other lady Debbie but maybe that's just personal preference.

Sorry MPP I forgot the only day they don't offer the direct stansted to Brno flight is a Monday so that wouldn't be an option anyway. Wizzair do a direct flight from Luton on the Monday but leaves early around 730am. There is also the Bristol to Vienna Monday evening which is a little closer than Prague.

MPP81 · 20/07/2016 21:06

Ah, yes, I was looking at the wrong bus stop! The buses went until midnight at the stop I was lookng at. God, I am rubbish at this! Ok, so we are counting tomorrow as CD1, then flying to Prague on the Sunday from Bristol, staying in Prague for the night and making our way to Brno on the Monday so we are there and ready. That is much more managable! DH wasnt thrilled with the idea of driving to Stansted, that's why we looked at Bristol, but perhaps next time he can be convinced! I'm glad the tram system is easy. We will probably use that too, I think.
Here come the questions...
If egg collection is on CD13 and transfer is 5 days later, does that include CD13, if its first thing in the morning? What CD would we possibly expect transfer, and is there a certain time of day they transfer, as with collection? And have you heard of the hotel I mentioned? I was hoping to get one of the ones I had vaguely heard of, like the Barcelo, but the prices there were Shock

Thanks for this. I really apprerciate it.

sidenote: I picked up a sharps bin from my pharmacy for a grand total of £1.50 today.

lucieloos · 20/07/2016 21:29

That sounds like a good plan MPP! I've done that option before and stayed in Prague over night and then travelled to Brno the next day. There are some quite cheap hotels near to the bus station and you can have a leisurely trip to Brno the following day then.

If egg collection is on cd 13 then day 1 is counted as the following day (cd14) You will probably have a day 5 transfer unless you only have a couple of embryos on day 3 in which case they will transfer them then. They wait until day 5 if you have a good number of embryos on day 3 and they can't tell the best so keep them going a bit longer to determine the best ones.

I have heard of the hotel you are staying in but don't know a lot about it. It's not one of the really common ones people stay in but I'm sure it's fine. Just looked it up actually and it's not far at all from the clinic you could easily walk it in 10 mins. It's outside of the centre of the town though so you would need to get trams in and out for the main restaurants etc. The Barcelo have a pretty good deal directly on their website. A lot better than booking.com. It works out about £60 a night for me which is still expensive as the place I normally stay is less than £20 but it is lovely and I want aircon and a bit of a treat!

Haha, please ignore my first question. I just re-read it and realised I'm being a bit of a numpty again!

MPP81 · 20/07/2016 21:36

Cross post!
Thank you again. I think that's actually all my questions for the moment! I think I'm making this more difficult than it needs to be. We've decided to review the hotel tomorrow night as we've had enough of sorting it out for one night, and its reserved, so its there if we need it but can be cancelled easily. Excited to get going now! :-)

Itsme247 · 21/07/2016 06:08

Eek, 7dp5dt and there's a definite squinter. Won't test again until weds.

I was a pyschotic mess yesterday, no way I could hold out! It's not trigger is it? That was 14 days ago.

loopylou1984 · 21/07/2016 06:29

Itsme!! I got my positive the equivalent of 13dpo. Tentatively excited for you. It shouldn't be trigger now, I tested mine out and it was gone by 8/9dpo.

MPP - glad you have a plan, and very pleased you have these ladies to help you formulate it!

Lucie - I've never had to pay for s sharps bin, they've always just come with my drugs delivery. I guess that's because I've bought from h@h though.
I don't think I'll do the other digi until Thursday next week. Just to be safe.

Itsme247 · 21/07/2016 06:44

It feels early doesn't it! But today I'm going to enjoy knowing I've seen a line :) IC as well! Doesn't help I've got a pack of ten just waiting in the cupboard...

lucieloos · 21/07/2016 06:47

Itsme, congratulations!!! That's the same day as I got my bfp. Brilliant on an IC as well, it should be darker on a frer. Really pleased for you Smile
