rosa don't apologise. What's happening to you is really crappy and it's come at the worst time when you're trying to juggle going back to work and looking after your little boy. You don't need this extra pressure and I think you're coping amazingly.

May I ask who actually makes the decision? Do you have a consultant or a midwife or a sonographer who is actually in charge of the process?

Rosa27 · 01/02/2017 16:38

It seems the sonographer has strict guidelines - but there is a preg support centre nurse in attendance who does the follow up chat. I have a consultant doctor who I am under the care of too however and I have asked to see her after as I while I would never want to give this pregnancy every chance, i know too much from history, reading and painful experience to know that at 9 weeks if no heart beat - even if we pretend it might be less - it's just not meant to be. I've also had 3 missed miscarriages before and as I've no symptoms this feels like that. Thanks for all your support. It does mean so much as I know you all know. Xx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 01/02/2017 19:50

It is very frustrating. I don't want to upset you but I think at the moment you'd probably appreciate the frankness, and you're right, there's just not going to be any chance that you're four weeks out with your dates is there? But please rest assured you have given this little one everything you could. I know you're worried about the intralipids and our bodies are all different but edie didn't get intralipids until nearly eight weeks and I think this one would have been after seven weeks. I spoke to DH about it and he said he considers the intralipids 'complimentary' in his words.

I feel bad for saying this with everything you're going through but I'm struggling at the moment. I think I'm fourteen weeks tomorrow (can't work out the date change in my head very well) and everyone keeps going 'oh I showed so much earlier with my second' and I don't think I am. I look thick and bloated and fat but not pregnant and I'm getting very paranoid. I'm so tempted to book a reassurance scan but it's such a waste of money and my next scan with Dr S is in the 16th anyway.

Morning Ladies

I'm in a bit of a pickle - I had a positive test this morning - eek. Can't believe the one and only time DH and I DTD has resulted in a positive after all those months of trying before and nothing. Not really sure how i feel at the moment - shocked maybe. Its totally not the right time but after everything we've been though to have one, I feel I need to give this second one the best chance too.

As its been a while since I saw Dr S, whats the protocol now? I'm worried that I've had no drugs inside me at all and i've been necking cold and flu tablets like there is no tomorrow as I've had such a bad cold over the past week or so.

I'm scared, excited, worried, and everything in-between. We hadn't even decided if we wanted to have another child so its all a bit of a shock.

Rosa- sorry to hear what you are going through xx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 02/02/2017 10:47

Aarrgghh sunny congratulations!!!!

Call the clinic and see if they can send you a prescription maybe? I'm just doing the same as last time. And don't worry about the cold and flu stuff, I was necking Imodium and co dydramol before I had my positive test!

sunnyday01 · 02/02/2017 10:59

thanks snoopy! its all a bit surreal! Have rang the clinic and they are just going to ask Dr S advice before sending anything out. Was surprised to see Louise has left too when I looked at the website.

sunnyday01 · 02/02/2017 10:59

oh and the pants checking everytime i go to the toilet has re-started!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 02/02/2017 12:04

I was a bit worried that Louise had left but the new midwife is absolutely lovely so don't be worried about that.

Ah knicker watch. I'm glad I didn't chuck out my crappy old cyclogest knickers haha

sunnyday01 · 02/02/2017 13:57

spoke to the new midwife, no point going back on hydroxy as takes 8-10 weeks to get in your system and then by that point i get weaned off it. dr s is out of country until sunday so no prescription until monday. Hoping my local gp will give me steroids and pregesterone like he did last time. Intralipids next week (if i make it that far)

Rosa27 · 03/02/2017 10:33

Sunny - congrats! That was the scenario I was in.. Hope it all goes well for you.
Sadly I had my 4th miscarriage confirmed today. I have an op booked for Mon and will be getting tissues tested. x

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 03/02/2017 10:59

Oh rosa, I'm so so sorry Flowers

Drttc · 03/02/2017 16:52

I'm so sorry Rosa. It must be really hard having to relive this rubbish. Sending you a big hug xx

sunnyday01 · 04/02/2017 06:46

Rosa, I'm so sorry to hear that, it never gets any easier xx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 05/02/2017 20:29

rosa I'll be thinking of you tomorrow x

Rosa27 · 05/02/2017 21:04

Thanks everyone.. You're right, it doesn't get easier.. On some level harder actually which surprised me. I just wish now I could be home this time tomorrow and on the mend .. Really appreciate your thoughts xxx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 06/02/2017 21:29

I hope everything went as well as it could today and that you're getting lots of rest at home x

sunnyday01 · 07/02/2017 10:40

Hope all is ok Rosa and that it went as well as it could x

I have my intralipids booked for Thursday morning, not had them at the clinic before as last time it was all done at home. Are you in a room by yourself or are there other people in there too? Planning on taking a book etc to occupy me but wasn't quite sure what to expect. Planning on dong another test tomorrow/thursday before shelling out £300!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 07/02/2017 11:40

sunny they have space for up to four women at a time. Partners aren't allowed in during the administering of the drip anymore so if yours is coming make sure he brings a book or something to entertain himself whilst he waits. We tend to book a scan for the same time as the intralipid (saves on visits and also to be blunt, saves us wasting money if there isn't any need for the drip) so DH likes to come for those and then goes shopping or reads in a cafe.

sunnyday01 · 07/02/2017 13:00

Thanks snoopy. DH not coming on thurs as no scan yet as its too early (think i'm 6 weeks tomorrow). My intralipids and scans will be slightly out of sync with each other i think so i'm hoping we can find a way to combine them as i dont fancy making lots of trips from northants. Good idea to have it after scan too - just in case!

Drttc · 07/02/2017 18:06

Hope you're recovering as well as you can, Rosa xx

Drttc · 07/02/2017 18:07

Sunny- big congrats on your BFP!! Hope the intralipds go well tomorrow. Have you thought about when you'd like a scan? Xx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 07/02/2017 20:43

Yeah you all know about my dislike of early scans. And with my two successful first trimesters I kind of messed up dates so only ended up having three drips with edie and if this goes well will do three this one. So the first load of intralipids I just write off money wise.

Drttc · 07/02/2017 21:32

Ah ignore my last post Sunny! Sorry I'd not caught what you said about scanning!!

sunnyday01 · 10/02/2017 10:37

Morning! Went to epsom yesterday for what my intralipids but once I was there and my dates they decided to scan me, I'm measuring 5+1 when I think I'm 6+1.as we know roughly when conception took place Dr s dudnt seem to concerned but wants to see me next Saturday to see if it's growing etc. was just a sac yesterday no HV or anything yet. He was also concerned that I was Nig on hydrixy like last time as my cells are very active. Feeling ok about things, as it was totally unplanned I've come to the de Union that i can only do what I'm already doing and I can't change it so just have to see how it goes!

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 10/02/2017 11:10

Sorry to hear you're going through this uncertainty sunny. At five/six weeks everything is so tiny, just a matter of millimetres. Hopefully the next scan is more reassuring. Did you have your intralipids? Did it go well?
