Thank you - it's so reassuring to read all of the successes on this thread. It's amazing that people can have not just one but (fingers crossed) two successful pregnancies on the plan.

I am really struggling with the feeling that I'm not doing anything constructive and I could be facing a 2-3 month wait for an initial appointment on the NHS to see Dr S.

Were you ladies told to stop taking the pregnancy multivitamins before you had your tests? The midwife I saw at EPU said that she thought I should stop taking them so that when they test me they're not looking at overinflated levels - but I've been on the multivits for over 6 months and would be on them when I next get a BFP so don't really understand her point. I also wanted to start taking Ubiquinol as I know it takes 3 months to improve egg quality and part of me thinks the tests may not pick up a reason for the miscariages - so surely I'm better doing something??

I have decided to lose weight - my BMI has crept up to 31ish so I'm going to use the next few months to get that down. I've also decided when I'm given the go ahead to ttc again, I'm going to start acupuncture. Even if it just destresses me a bit it'll be worth it.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 24/01/2017 23:16

I didn't stop taking multivitamins. I wasn't aware they measured vitamin levels apart from vitamin d maybe but I could be wrong. I was diagnosed vitamin d deficient a few years ago anyway so I would be supplementing whether I was told to or not.

I also took ubiquinol (well the cheapie co enzyme Q10 version) and I think a few of us did and I know a few also did acupuncture so it's definitely worth a shot!

In thirteen hours I'll be having my scan. I've clicked my jaw so much it's sore, why can't I learn to relax?! Nothing I do or say is going to change the outcome. Anyhoo, better get some sleep. No need to look like crap as well as feeling bad Wink

Seekingmiracles · 25/01/2017 08:06

I didn't stop multivits either- I'm not sure they'll throw any results out. Except vit d.
I also took ubquinol coq10 and DHEA after my last mc.
No one can tell you exactly which combo is going to work... if any. I'm not sure if the supplements are what helped me along or if the successful pregnancy would have been successful regardless. All I know is that after the last mc I needed to feel like I was doing something.

Snoopy, good luck later. How far along will you be? Report back asap

Wow looks like a lot has been going on here!

Rosa - lovely to see you back here, like you I e just gone back to work (LO was 1 yesterday!). And it's an Interesting juggling act but I find I just have to be organised. I'm enjoying being back at work though! Luckily it's just 3 days at the moment! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out ok for you this time. Are you back on all the drugs whilst you are in this 'not sure what's going on' phase?

Good luck for your Scan snoopy - I think it's amazing you are doing all this again, the treatment plan and emotional rollercoaster were bad enough first time round but to do it and have little person to look after too is amazing x

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 25/01/2017 13:52

Everything looks good on the scan, due date moved forward from 8th to 3rd August, bloods all good and he said in his opinion it's a girl! So I was right! I told DH he'd regret wearing long johns on his nightshifts haha

sunnyday01 · 25/01/2017 14:50

Glad all is ok snoopy x

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 25/01/2017 16:37

Thanks sunny. I can't believe it.

rosa how are you feeling?

Seekingmiracles · 25/01/2017 18:40

Great news Snoopy!! I can't believe he can tell sex so early on! Clever man!!

I know, he's very thorough and he's very good at explaining everything. I guess he's used to dealing with nervous wrecks working there.

She was very mobile though so it took him a while to get some measurements because she would not stay still. Then she sucked her thumb and all was forgiven.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 25/01/2017 20:51

Oh the only slight disappointment was that I have another anterior placenta so stress about movement or lack of and increased chance of another back to back delivery but she will be worth it.

YompingJo · 27/01/2017 04:46

Wow snoopy, that's brilliant! So pleased for you!

Drttc · 27/01/2017 18:24

Oh Snoopy that's such lovely news! Really happy for you and the fam. Also- my little boy is an August baby so I can say they are scrummy :-) Feels so nostalgic hearing about this! My eyes are currently burning from lack of sleep, but this news has made me smile x

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/01/2017 18:45

Thanks yomping. How are you feeling? Must all be getting very exciting!

drttc DH is an August baby, as is my dad and my sister in law so along with your lovely little one that's good company! Oh no, is he being a little monster at night? I don't want to boast, because we went through six months of edie not napping in the day and waking up every three hours between midnight and morning, but last night she slept from 7pm to 6am, had a little bottle and went back to sleep Shock

Drttc · 27/01/2017 20:25

Hehe yay team August!

He's been a real monster indeed! He's almost 6 months old so is going through a big growth spurt I guess. For a while he was a great sleeper and eventually a decent napper. But recently I've barely had any sleep! That said, in the last month he's now been able to roll both ways (he'd only done one way before), started saying 'dada', and can stay sitting up by himself. Each skill seemed to suddenly happen overnight too! Very proud... and tired Grin

I'm certain you've earned that lovely sleep! Hope she continues behaving for you :-)

YompingJo · 27/01/2017 20:58

snoopy it's getting scary. Might actually have to face giving birth...

Whole family have had D&V bug one after the other this week so actually feeling hideous and exhausted. Wonderful 4
-year-old dd pretty much did her own bedtime last night while dh slept and I directed from the bed.

YompingJo · 27/01/2017 20:58

Tonight, not last night. Losing track of time.

Rosa27 · 28/01/2017 10:18

Amazing news Snoopy .sooo happy for you. It's just so amazing and exciting from this stage on :)
Sadly I'm not in the same boat. I should be 8 weeks now or at the very least nearly 7 even allowing for the wildest margins of error for late conception and ultrasound errors. But my scan showed me at 5and a half ish. Though there had been some growth since the week before there had not been a huge amount and there is a yolk sac and maybe a 1mm fetal pole. It's so depressing as they won't call it while they still see growth one week to the next but come on.. This is clearly not good.. And I'm meanwhile feeling worse and worse on pred for nothing .., and am worried that this would be it every time now unless I find a way to go up and down for intrallipids .. I just don't think can fit that in though living in Scotland and having a job and a toddler... Maybe I should just count my blessings.. I'm incredibly blessed to have my DS after all my challenges. Just hate this ongoing limbo. Another can next Friday but I've been warned it could be the same limbo outcome even though they know it's not to be they have strict protocol. Sorry to write so much down beat things after Snoopy's wonderful update. Everyone focus on that as it this gives hope and it CAN happen.. It's probably good evidence to show you do need the Mr S throw everything at it approach though as I did for DS.

tiggykate · 28/01/2017 18:46

Sorry to hear you're in limbo land Rosa. Is there any chance you can get your HCG levels checked to see if they're doubling?

Bala03 · 28/01/2017 19:34

hi,
iam a new member mumset. after two miscarriage. currently, i am ttc and taking steroids , thyroxine ,aspirin for 3 months now.
is anyone in similar situation and success.
really help to keep positive.
thanks.

Rosa27 · 28/01/2017 23:00

Thanks tiggy - apparently at this stage the HCG wouldn't help .. It's just the scans now and they want to wait a fortnight but I convinced them I would go mad so another week it is.
Hi Bala.. I'm going through hell right now BUT I had 3 miscarriages and then had a gorgeous, perfect wee boy after the treatment you're on. Lots of success stories on this thread so lots to be hopeful for. All the best xxx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 30/01/2017 12:35

rosa so sorry I missed your updates, usually get emails when someone posts.

I understand they have these new guidelines to follow but it really isn't fair to treat you like this. You know what you're talking about. I have the same argument with the NHS about my thyroid, I point out 'NICE guidelines say X,Y,Z' and usually get the reply 'oh they're just guidelines, not rules'. So why do they rigidly adhere to 'guidelines' that are clearly when they are clearly to the detriment of their patients. What will they do if there is no significant change by the end of the week?

With regards to the intralipids wasn't there someone on the thread who was getting them prescribed and then found a private nurse or doctor local to them to administer them?

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 30/01/2017 12:39

Sorry just realised some of that last post doesn't quite make sense, my fingers get fatter when I'm angry!

YompingJo · 30/01/2017 17:55

I enquired about getting intralipids prescribed but they said they don't do that any more.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 30/01/2017 18:40

Ah that's a shame yomping, the intralipids really are a pain. Before they did them at the clinic they used to come to your house to administer them. I only ever did one like that. It was a bit weird having a nurse in your living room watching tv with you but definitely easier than travelling the length of the UK.

yomping your DD sounds adorable. I bet she's getting really excited as well now.

Hello bala. Sorry you find yourself here. Was your hypothyroidism recently diagnosed or pre existing?

Rosa27 · 31/01/2017 19:53

Thanks Snoopy.. Sorry been ages too. Trying to distract myself.. Each week is painfully long and so depressed now :( If no significant change they might still say legally they need to wait another week to confirm miscarriage .. So cruel when would be 9 weeks. I'm just about holding it together but really tired and bloated with pred.. If only things had gone well I'd be weaning from 10 weeks and looking forward to the 2nd trimester. I just feel like this could be a sign that at 40 and being blessed with a DS after all the challenges, I should stop.
It's such a shame the don't let healthcare at home do intrallipids anymore. I had 5 lots done for my DS and will always fear that's what could have made the difference with this one.. Sorry to be so downbeat ...
