Trix that is fabulous, brilliant, awesome news! Not long to go til your NT now, either! Does 11 weeks tie in with your dates?

Loopy My WI had a breast nurse come and give a talk to us and she stressed that 98-99% of all people referred to her service (mammograms and breast screening) after finding 'something' themselves were given good news. She did also say that an appointment was always given within the fortnight, as for those remaining 1-2% it was important they get on the treatment path as quickly as possible. I know NHS trusts differ wildly, but I'm concerned they couldn't give you a timeframe when your appointment would be. It's good that you have the option to go private, and I really do hope it's nothing. FWIW, I've had boils and swollen glands in my armpits that have caused me a lot of pain, but I'm guessing the gp has ruled these out in your case. Definitely go for the interview - you could do with a bit of good news, I think!

I saw an NHS consultant yesterday who's confirmed I'm classed as high risk because of my fibroid op (though I think he would have used any excuse - he tried to say my appendectomy from when I was 9 was a huge risk factor!). I'm a bit gutted, to be honest, because they won't allow me to apply for the birthing centre and the consultant is pushing me to have lots of medical intervention in the birth, which is as far from what I want as is possible. He's not giving reasons, just that it is hospital policy. I'm of a mind that if there is a medical need for intervention then I'll happily take whatever's thrown at me, but if there is no need then why do it? FFS haven't I had enough medical interventions in this whole sodding process? Why can't I just be allowed to do something 'normally' for once?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 15/06/2016 05:11

I have my lucky socks on, only 4 hours to wait (I'll have plenty to do at work to keep my mind off it!)

geek are they pushing for a planned cs? Though in 5/6 months time you'll probably be saying just get it out!

Imps9 · 15/06/2016 06:18

Good luck today Beedles. Will be thinking of you...if I remember about the time difference!

Geek it's annoying when they don't give you information. A woman at my yoga class recently refused to be induced at 40 weeks because they wouldn't/couldn't explain satisfactorily why they thought it necessary. It's a bit daunting but fine to challenge them on their advice.

Those of you with a JoJo wrap top - what does yours look like from the back when you've done it up? I'm having trouble getting to grips with mine, I have to say...

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 15/06/2016 07:32

9am your time imps!

I've only worn my short-sleeved wrap top once so far but it does look a bit untidy at the back - not sure I've really got the hang of it yet either. But it looks ok at the front!

ControlGeek · 15/06/2016 09:34

Good luck beedle, brooking like mad for you and can't wait to see some yummy scan pics Grin

I've not bought the JoJo top yet Imps, perhaps it just takes a bit of practice - I was a bit Shock that the website actually had to give instructions on how to put it on, which I guess means a lot of people struggle with it!

Not a planned cs, no, but they want to do a planned induction on my due date because I will be 40 by then (by all of two months). Like imps' friend, he couldn't give me any good reason other than it was hospital policy. Regarding my high risk due to myomectomy, he quoted my risk of rupture as being between 1 in 200 and 1 in 300 (0.33%-0.5%) - to my mind, this is rather lower than a lot of other 'standard' risks, and also a lot lower than a heck of a lot of risks associated with induction, including emergency cs - and my myo rupture risk would also increase with induction. I'm just cross that the birthing centre has been written off, since it is down the end of the corridor from the delivery suite so surely if I did need intervention I'd be 30 seconds away from it at worst?

It's good to hear that other people have successfully said no, I think I'll stick to my guns unless I'm given a reason to change my mind. I know many people have successful inductions but it really doesn't fit with how I'd like things to happen, all being well.

Imps9 · 15/06/2016 10:07

My yoga pal went into labour naturally at 40+2 and all was well. After the event she probed a bit more as to why they wanted to induce and was just told that it was because of her age and the increased risk of stillbirth. There wasn't a specific threat related to her own circumstances as far as I'm aware, it was just their policy on account of her age.

Are you there Beedles?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 15/06/2016 10:21

Everything is fine :o

We had a trainee doing the scan so we were in there for nearly an hour, they had to send me to wee near the end as my bladder was too full! I'd only had a wee 30 mins before we Went in. Sounds awful but we were almost getting bored by the end!!!!

will post the Picture a bit later.

Imps9 · 15/06/2016 10:51

GrinGrinGrin Yesssssss Beedles!!!! A fabulous bit of news! Is it still a UBB or did you find out?

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 15/06/2016 11:04

Yay beedles!!! Awesome that you got to look at your bean for so long! Have we got a nickname yet for your beeby? Or is it still too early for you? God I@m so chuffed for you GrinGrinGrin

Imps9 · 15/06/2016 11:16

You must have another scan coming up Geek surely??

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 15/06/2016 11:33

I was going to have another towards the end of this week imps but MrG's too ill to drive Sad

Imps9 · 15/06/2016 11:39

Oh no - what's the matter? Hopefully nothing serious or long-lasting.

Will you find out if Geekling is a boy or a girl?

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 15/06/2016 11:42

He's got lots of diabetes complications, the scariest is his legs occasionally swell up like balloons and spontaneously ulcerate. He's got no skin between his left knee and ankle at the moment, with no sign of it going down. It took a three month spell off work and time in hospital to sort it out when this happened last year.

I'll be booking a private scan for around 16 weeks ish to hopefully spot the meat & two veg/lack of Grin

BeedlesPineNeedles · 15/06/2016 16:22

Poor mrgeek, hope he gets well soon. Good plan for the 16w scan, 12 weeks to 19 weeks was far too long without checking the little one was OK. It probably does need a name now!

Imps9 · 15/06/2016 21:17

Oh no Geek that sounds painful and hugely frustrating for him. Hope he recovers v quickly.

Loops what time is your appt tomorrow? Please report back if you get the chance. Did you arrange your interview for next week?

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 16/06/2016 06:01

Good luck for today loopy hope the tests aren't too uncomfortable and you get the results back nice and quickly (and that they're all clear obviously!)

cartoontrickster · 16/06/2016 16:42

Hope all went well today loopy and that you are doing ok. You really don't deserve all this shittyness.
geek yes I think we are dead on the dates I was expecting Grin. I think I'd forgotten how much we would be able to see and that the bean would be moving around. Dh took a video of the scan it's lovely to be able to watch it back. We have some of N too.
How is Mr G? sounds very nasty, poor thing.
Sorry you feel railroaded re the birth. You must do what you feel is right. Plenty of time to decide on it and persuade the right people anyway.

Wow beedle that's a long scan! So pleased all was good!

Hope everyone else is well.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 16/06/2016 17:35

Thank fuck for that, everything was clear on mammogram and the scan. He said that I have a lot of breast tissue which extends into my armpits, and he said it's a gift from RMC. All caused by hormones, he said pregnancies/miscarriage affect hormones, pcos affects oestrogen, as does clomid which I took in Jan and Feb, and weight loss can affect hormones too. He said to take 6x evening primrose a day to balance things out but other than that, all is good. So sorry to have been thinking the worst but I really thought that was it, end of ttc and launching into a load of treatment. But as it is, everything is fine, my only worry now is whether I have ovulated or not as due any day and haven't DTD at all because of worrying about cancer, and haven't really kept track of when ewcm started, other than knowing it's been there this week, so just hoping we haven't missed the boat if we do it tonight!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 16/06/2016 17:38

Oh and interview is next Wednesday, and I need to learn the last 3 years of legislation changes by then and lter a pair of trousers that need about 6 inches chopping off the length!

Ps Yay for your scan beedles!

ControlGeek · 16/06/2016 18:18

Loopy I'm so sorry you had to go through all that, but that is such a brilliant result, I'm so pleased it was nothing more sinister - and that you've got the interview all sorted! Good luck with your legislation revision too.

Imps9 · 16/06/2016 20:31

Yessssssssss Loopy!!! That is such good news! Hormones have a lot to answer for.

Best get shagging in that case!

Imps9 · 16/06/2016 21:52

Oh and evening primrose is excellent for pant snot too which will help for next month if you've missed the boat this month.

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 17/06/2016 04:33

That's great news loopy, really glad you don't have to wait for the results either. Good luck with the revision and the snagging!

I'm off to see the mw this morning, I assume for the standard blood pressure checks etc (no idea really)

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 17/06/2016 07:39

Did an OPK yesterday about 5.30pm and it was a definite positive, and DH managed to DTD last night so we are in with a chance for this month. Those are words I didn't expect to be saying this time yesterday!

Imps, I already have way too much mucus as it is, you have me worried about the evening primrose now lol!

Revision in a nutshell- it would appear the government have altered pretty much everything to do with pension rules in the last 3 years bar for changing annuities, I have so much to get up to date on 😡
