Glad you're feeling a bit better trix. I love pineapple but it's a FAFF to chop etc. In Thailand you buy it predone in a bag, I think kip was built on it!

Told her v early, I think after 7wk scan, in an attempt to stop her clambering on /kicking my tummy. Figured if something went wrong she would just accept it as fact and not be upset. She's really excited now, but it has seemed a long time for her. She says now 'but mummy your tummy is fat now, will the baby be born soon'...

pasta lovely time for a holiday - enjoy! Love the thought of 15m doing golf.

keepitgoing · 09/06/2016 17:28

Also we didn't do a big 'reveal' to her about the baby, just dropped it into conversation matter of factly. She always knows what's going on clearly a genius

cartoontrickster · 09/06/2016 18:01

How sweet! It's a long time for them to wait though isn't it. We haven't been secretive, its been talked about in front of him loads but haven't actually spoken to N about it. I'm not sure when to tell him

keepitgoing · 09/06/2016 22:14

He probably knows already to some extent then. Does he talk much yet? I'd probably just talk about it as if it's just another fact, as in 'yes, tea is nearly ready, yes, mummy has a baby in her tummy'. However will be fine I'm sure. S is quite obsessed with babies and what lays eggs and what grows babies etc, so it's easy to talk about with her.

farfallarocks · 09/06/2016 22:20

Woo hoo imps! Yay! I think BB had a rather gorgeous profile already!
Little far told me I had a baby in my tummy and it was a boy when I was 6 weeks, we had not
Said anything to her!
Must get her to choose some
Lottery numbers.....

keepitgoing · 10/06/2016 08:15

That's spooky far! How are you all doing?

trix how come you have another scan before your nuchal one?

Happy Friday all! I'm off on hols on Sunday - woo boo!

Hiya cups can't believe you're back yoywork soon. Are you dreading it? Are you getting much sleep yet...? What are your childcare plans? Sorry if that's nosy. I'm planning to keep s at her 3 days in nursery while on m/l to give me plenty of time with my snuggly baby. She enjoys it but am worried she will be sad to go if she knows I'm not at work

Imps9 · 10/06/2016 09:25

My friends with more than one DC have all kept their kids in nursery during mat leave and none have said that it was upsetting for them. Will deffo be lovely to have Snuggly Time with Kip the Second.

Your scan on Mon is your dating scan is it Trix? Do they not do nuchal scan at same time at all in your region? Will be nice to see Trix Jnr again on 29th anyway :)

Gosh, I can't imagine how it must feel to go back to work after mat leave Cups. I don't know what I'll do about work. Both Mr Imps and I work a pretty long commute from home and I really don't see how that will be feasible with nursery pick-ups etc. Oh well, we can worry about that nearer the time.

Right, just one more day to get through and then it's the weekend. Thank god, it's been a fucker of a week at work.

Oh and Far hello my lovely! How old is that lovely G now?

keepitgoing · 10/06/2016 09:55

I thought you didn't work Fridays imps!

I am lucky in that I can start work early and finish on time usually, so dh does mornings but is hopelessly unreliable for evenings. Nanny might be better for you imps if you could afford. Anyway, as you say, loads of time

Imps9 · 10/06/2016 09:58

I don't work alternative Fridays Keep - am 90% of full time rather than 80%.

cartoontrickster · 10/06/2016 12:08

Wow far I've heard other stories like that it's amazing how sometimes kids just know!
N has lots of words and he's putting more and more words together to make 'sentences' . He often surprises me with the things he comes out with. He picks things up quite quickly. But he doesn't show much interest in babies even when a friend we regularly see for playdates had another!
My scan on Monday is one of my 2wkly private scans with Mr s. The other is my nhs dating/nuchal scan.

Imps9 · 12/06/2016 11:52

Happy holidays Keep! Have a fabulous time.

Hope you're having a Lovely holiday keep

Good luck with the scan today trix

I'm getting really scared about my scan on Wednesday, I know logically that the chance of anything being really seriously wrong is tiny. But I'm convinced that tiny chance will be us.

Imps9 · 13/06/2016 07:14

Beedles it's terrifying isn't it? What time on Weds?

Hope you all had lovely weekends. I had a fab busy one and only have 4 days at work this week. Get in.

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/06/2016 08:07

Its at 10am, so at least I won't have to wait all day.

Imps9 · 13/06/2016 08:58

No, it was nice to get it done early in the day. The feeling of anxiety is horrible.

ControlGeek · 13/06/2016 12:32

Good luck for Wednesday Beedle, it really is scary isn't it? A morning appointment is def the way to go.

ControlGeek · 13/06/2016 12:33

Sorry Trix just realised your scan is today too - thinking of you, lovely

cartoontrickster · 13/06/2016 13:18

Imps9 · 13/06/2016 20:14

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 14/06/2016 06:23

fab news trix Not long to wait until the next scan?

I'm absolutely snowed under with work at the moment but luckily its only a few weeks until the holidays start.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 14/06/2016 07:00

Hi all, sorry for absence but glad to see all scans have gone well.

So I'm having the worst month possible. I've had an ache in my armpit for a couple of weeks when washing my hair in the shower, dismissed it initially as thought I'd just hurt myself lifting heavy stuff in the garden. Checked my breasts last weekend for "peace of mind" but found 2 lumps in one breast and not sure about the other as even with having now lost 23 3/4lb this year they are still big boobs and always felt lumpy. GP can feel the lumps too, and NHS couldn't even give me a date for when I could be seen so am using DH's work BUPA and am booked in for this Thursday morning for a digital mammogram X-ray, ultrasound scan, and biopsies. I am convinced it is cancer as none of the innocent lumps I have read about have any mention of affecting the armpit area. In cruel timing I am due to ovulate this week I think, and I have an interview next week for a job that I have all the experience and qualifications for that would be bloody good money and be able to work from home most of the time and is keen to see me despite me not being able to work full time hours or ever get to the office before 10am. I'm really struggling as i will be 40 in October and if this is cancer then I can't see how I will have any chance to have another baby. And am scared stiff in case it has spread beyond the lymph nodes.

Imps9 · 14/06/2016 07:42

Oh Christ Loops - what a crap load of stuff to have on your plate. I'm really sorry that you're having this horrible fright, even if the lumps do turn out to be benign. How long will it take to get the results back?

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 14/06/2016 08:16

Loopy no wonder you're scared. I'm glad you can use the private Healthcare and get seen so soon, terrible that the NHS couldn't even give you a date. i have no idea about the likelihood of it being something bad but remember you'll find far more bad stories on the internet than good ones. brooking really hard that Everything is ok and you don't have to wait too long for the results. And go to the interview, it sounds perfect for you. Flowers Flowers

And one last thing, I'm not sure if a digital mammogram is different but a normal one really squashes your boobs, I had one in February (they start at 40 here) and my boobs hurt for a day or so afterwards.

Imps9 · 14/06/2016 09:15

Oh yes Loops I meant to say that you should definitely definitely go to the interview. And Beedles is spot on - you will read waaaaaay more bad stories on the internet than good ones. It's much more rare for people to share experiences of good news rather than bad.
